Another dandy moment for the New York Knicks last night. Watch.



Let's count all the problems with this play:
1. No one helped Beno once Beal blew past him.
2. No one covered the rim.
3. Mike Woodson didn't call a timeout after the play was over.
4. Carmelo Anthony didn't call a timeout once moving past the halfcourt line.
5. Carmelo took an awful shot to end the game.

I complained last year when the Lakers were a mess about how much airtime major networks gave them. I'm not complaining about the Knicks. The Knicks are a disaster I can't look away from. And the best part is that it no of this is their fault. Check out these postgame quotes. They can't point their fingers fast enough at someone else. If Mike Woodson makes to New Year's without being fired I'll be shocked.

I Love Meddling Owners

I'm going to be honest. I love meddling owners in sports. From Jeffrey Loria to Donald Sterling, there's nothing better than meddling owners if they're not owning my team (glares at the Maloofs). And one of those meddling owners (James Dolan) is already pissed, 3 games into the season.

That's not the best story though. The best part is that James Dolan is taking out his frustration on the Knicks City Dancers. Seriously:

Dolan has become such a hands-on owner — figuratively speaking — that, according to a source, he doesn’t want the dancers dancing. Crazy, right? The same guy who wanted creative input on the dancers’ outfits (and he’s good at it) apparently ordered that the girls’ roles be reduced to mostly throwing T-shirts into the crowd. They performed maybe one routine on Sunday.

OMG that is so perfect. "I'M GOING TO SHOW YOU WHO IS BOSS OF THIS TEAM! GET AHOLD OF THE KNICKS CITY DANCERS AND TELL THEM TO STOP DANCING AND THROW MORE KNICKS TSHIRTS INTO THE CROWD. THAT WILL SHOW THIS TEAM."

I love meddling owners. I personally hope James Dolan owns the Knicks forever.

True Hoop pointed out today that the NY Daily News has a countdown clock on their website, counting down the days until LeBron James becomes a free agent. It's 271 days to be exact.

This is going to be a long season. Hell it's been a long two years counting down to when LeBron becomes a free agent. This story has been more overplayed than the Brett Favre to New York/Minnesota story.

So here's to LeBron sticking it to New York. Here's to LeBron resigning with Cleveland. Here's to the look of disappointment on New Yorker's faces when LeBron resigns with Cleveland. Do the right thing LeBron and stay with your hometown team. Then we the public won't be indited with 24-hour coverage of your every move in New York.

With LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers playing the New York Knicks tonight, all the talk was about LeBron playing for the Knicks in 2010.

All they could talk about on PTI and Around the Horn was LeBron signing with the Knicks in 2010. That is two years away.

There has been talk for a while now about LeBron signing with either the Knicks or Nets. And after the Knicks traded away some of their bad contracts the talk accelerated. The Knicks are clearing salay space for James. The Knicks are positioning themselves for James. All the talk needs to stop.

LeBron James doesn't even become a free agent until 2010. That is still two years away. A lot can happen in two years. The Cavs could win the NBA title in that time span. The Cavs could even sign James to an extension. You never know what is going to happen.

So LeBron is in love with New York and is friends with Jay-Z. Cleveland is his home and Cleveland is the team who can pay him the most.

So we to stop talking about where LeBron will be playing in 2010 and just enjoy the NBA right now.
