The Broncos Radio Crew Didn't Exactly Have A Gus Johnson Moment in OT

I feel sorry for anyone who didn't watch the Denver-Pittsburgh. It was an instant classic that saw the Broncos win in overtime on the first and only play of OT when Tim Tebow hit Demaryius Thomas for an 80-yard touchdown for the victory. The Broncos radio crew though didn't exactly have a Gus Johnson moment on the last play of the game.



Jeez where's the passion? You'd think that was Ben Roethlisberger throwing the game-winning touchdown and not Tim Tebow. These guys need to go to the Gus Johnson school of exciting game calls.

Tebow Makes Games Interesting

Tim Tebow's state line last night: 9 completions, 20 attempts, 104 yards, 45% completion, 8 rushing attempts, 68 yards

Denver only had 11 first downs on the night and the majority of them came in the first and last drive on the night for Denver.

Last night's Denver-New York game was boring. Pond water moves faster than the pace of last night's game. With Tim Tebow playing though, Bronco games are certainly interesting and fascinating to watch.

Tebow is not a great passer. It takes forever for the ball to leave his arm, and he's not very accurate. Like Alex Smith, who like Tebow played for Urban Meyer, they're both never going to put up crazy passing numbers. It's just not in them. Unlike Smith though, Tebow has been interesting to watch from the very beginning of his career.

Here's another thing about Tebow, he wins games but you cannot exactly put a finger on why? Some people will claim Tebow has a "clutch gene". I'm on the fence if I believe that. Are some players better in the "clutch" than others? I don't know, but understand why when a "clutch gene" is brought up and some people cringe.

I do believe this. With Tebow's ability to run, he's more dangerous in the clutch. That is what separates quarterbacks who can run. They can beat you more ways than one. Vince Young crushed USC's dreams because of this ability.

As of right now, Denver is one game behind the Oakland Raiders in the AFC West. The Broncos defense is really good with Von Miller dominating the line of scrimmage. If Tebow can keep down his turnovers and the defense can keep stopping opponents, Denver could win the AFC West. Could you imagine the orgasms the pundits will have if we have a Tebow vs Brady playoff game?

2009 NFL Preview: Denver Broncos

Our last one! The Denver Broncos also underwent a lot of change in the off-season, bringing in 2 former staples of the Eagles in Brian Dawkins and Corell Buckhalter, firing Mike Shanahan, hiring Josh McDaniels, and trading Jay Cutler for Kyle "Neckbeard The Pirate" Orton. So without further ado, here is the last of the 2009 NFL Previews!

New Coach: As mentioned earlier, the Denver Broncos have a new coach in Josh McDaniels. I always felt that Shanahan was a popular figure there, but it seems like things unraveled greatly over the past few months and it's good riddance to him and Cutler, who in a sense, represented the Shanahan era. I'm curious to see what McDaniels can bring to the table especially seeing as talent-wise, the Broncos and McDaniels don't have much to work with.

New QB I honestly can't believe that the Broncos think that Neckbeard The Pirate is the answer to their Jay Cutler's. Actually, I can't even believe that Kyle Orton is still in the NFL let alone starting somewhere. And unless some great epiphany occurs within him this year, expect to see epic suck at that position for Denver.

Brandon Marshall It fugures that the team's most talented player is also their biggest troublemaker. And is it just me or is suspending him for the last 2 pre-season games more of a reward than it is a punishment. After all, generally mostly bad things and injuries can come from pre-season games.

B-Dawk: B-Dawk is now a Bronco. If he is still healthy and playing Week 16, you can expect a plethora of emotions and mixed reactions at Lincoln Financial Field that Sunday.

Throw-Ups: This is what the Broncos are giving us for their AFL throwbacks.

Prediction: 4-12, 3rd Place AFC West. They'd be last, but if I were doing the Raiders prediction, I would have had them at 2-14. Al Davis deserves that. Seahawks fans are quite excited about these possibilities for the Broncos this year and I don't blame them. They have their draft pick and even though it is hard to say for sure this far in advance, this draft class looks like it is going to be completely loaded with talent at the top.

Brandon Marshall Wants Out of Denver

First Jay Cutler, now Brandon Marshall.

Yes the often-arrested receiver wants out of Denver. But unlike Cutler, who was upset the team used him as trade bait, Marshall is upset about his contract and how the team handled his hip surgery.

"The Pro Bowl wideout, upset about his contract and the Broncos’ treatment of a hip injury that required surgery in late March, seems to be following the Jay Cutler Highway out of town. He also appears to be taking a page from the departed franchise quarterback’s playbook: Disregard the authority of new coach Josh McDaniels, stay away from the facility and wait for owner Pat Bowlen to sign off on a trade. (Denver’s KOA radio reported Monday that Marshall asked to be dealt during a private meeting with Bowlen on Friday.)"

Which brings the question, who wants a receiver who can't stay out of trouble? And who would want a head case like Marshall? Well there are some teams in the NFL willing to take a chance.

Philadelphia- He would go great along side Jeremy Maclin and DeShaun Jackson. This is a doubtful situation because the Eagles probably don't want to mess with another T.O.-type headcase.

San Francisco- Marshall along with Michael Crabtree would make either Alex Smith or Shaun Hill happy. Also doubtful because if this team doesn't want to mess with Ron Mexico, they wouldn't want to mess with Marshall.

Baltimore- Certainly Joe Flacco would be happy. I could see him landing in Baltimore because Ray Lewis would be able to straighten out Marshall.

NY Jets- This is only a possibility if the Jets can't land Plaxico. Plus with a disciplinary coach like Rex Ryan, I could see a clash right there.

Wild Card- This is the most likely option. Jay Cutler being shipped to the Bears was certainly a shock. For some reason I can already see Jerry Jones or Daniel Snyder on the phone making an offer for Marshall.

Whoever deals for this guy will be handed a headache because of little arrests like this.

Can Jay Cutler Make Up His Mind?

Jay Cutler is one strange cat. First the Denver Broncos try to trade him for Matt Cassel. They deny it, get caught, and Cutler starts pouting. He has sold his house in Denver and didn't even show up for the team's workouts. Now he telling Jay Glazer of Fox Sports that he didn't want to get traded.

"I was surprised they decided to trade me this soon," Cutler told Glazer in his first comments since the statement was released. "I didn't want to get traded. This wasn't me. (The Broncos) had been going back and forth saying things, wanting me to be their quarterback and then they didn't."

"I really didn't want this. I love Denver. I really like my teammates. I didn't want it to get this far."

Jay sure does have a strange way of showing love to Denver. He pouts for about a month straight, and then he doesn't show up for workouts.

Also if you love your teammates, show up to the off-season workouts. They are there working their butts off, and you should be there too.

And if you didn't want to get traded, you also have a weird way of showing it. From the early speculation Cutler wanted out of Denver. This was even before they tried to trade Cutler for Cassel. He was supposedly mad because the new regime didn't keep any of the holdovers. He especially mad when the Broncos didn't keep Jeremy Bates, who left for USC.

All I could think of, Jay must be worried about his public relations. He doesn't want the rest of the league to think that he could be a problem in the locker room. Too late, Jay. Other teams in the league know about your attitude, and while an owner, GM, and coach might want you, your new teammates can see through you.

Good luck Jay with the rest of your career.
