A lot of crazy things happened this weekend and thankfully they're all recorded on YouTube. Here are the videos of the weekend.

In one of the most bizarre fights I've ever seen, Victor Ortiz lost to Floyd Mayweather Jr. via knockout. A few seconds after Ortiz head butted Mayweather, Floyd sucker punched Ortiz to record the victory. The fight though was nothing compared to the post-fight interview between Mayweather and Larry Merchant. (Via Sports Grid)



I'm a big fan of the scoreboard. The scoreboard never lies and it drives losing fans crazy when they think their team is better than the team that just defeated their team (Hey Phillies fan, look at the scoreboard of the 2010 NLCS). That's why I loved Michael Vick pointing to the scoreboard as he was leaving the field with a concussion last night in Atlanta. The Falcons thought would get the last laugh and get to point at the scoreboard after the game was over. (Via Sports Grid)



The 49ers-Cowboys game was painful yesterday, for both sides. The Cowboys had quite a few players leave the game because of injury. The 49ers though suffered the biggest pain and that was defeat. A reality show star Jesse Holley broke the 49ers fans hearts with this play in overtime. Holley holding the ball over his head before reaching the end zone caused 49ers announcer Ted Robinson to go on a epic rant about players celebrating early, hello Desean Jackson, that I will forever remember and laugh about.



And finally we have two grandmothers shotgunning beers at a Michigan tailgate. I might become a Michigan fan after watching this video. (Via MGoBlog)

Video of the Day: Pacquiao Destroys Hatton

Manny Pacquiao vs. Rickey Hatton only lasted two rounds. So this video is the entire fight plus replays. It's a must watch.

Pacquiao knocked down Hatton twice in the 1St round, then he knocked him out towards the end of the 2Nd round.

Rickey's father Ray says he's o.k. He might be fine but this is the second fight in three fights Hatton has been knocked out. I think Hatton might have to start thinking about retirement.

As for Pacquiao, this is the reason why he is the best boxer today. If boxing had more Manny Pacquiao's, it wouldn't be losing a battle with MMA.

SHOCKING ! A Controversial Decision in Boxing

Old man Evander Holyfield lost his fight today against 7 foot Russian WBA Heavyweight Champion Nikolai Valuev. And shocking, it wasn't without controversy.

Holyfield lost by a split decision, with one judge scoring the bout a draw.

Holyfield was trying to become the oldest heavyweight champion at 46-years old. But in reality Holyfield was there for the paycheck.

It has been reported that Holyfield has up to 11 illegitimate children and owes up to $500,000 in child support payments per year. If Holyfield won the fight, he would have received around $600,000.

Holyfield, like boxing, is just a joke right now. He was only at that fight for the paycheck, and no one in the United States has ever heard of Valuev.

Just another example of how boxing has completely fallen off of the map.

Just Go Away

SI is reporting that Ricky Hatton is considering a rematch with Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Since beating up Hatton, last December, Mayweather said he retired from boxing. He also appeared in Wrestlemania 24 in a boxing match against The Big Show.

Right now Hatton would rather fight Manny Pacquiao. But if that fight falls through, Mayweather would be Hatton's next choice for an opponent.

Here's my problem with this. Boxing needs to just go away.

Too many boxers now are just fighting for the money. Roy Jones Jr. just fought Joe Calzaghe for a huge payday. The fight was an absolute bust. Jones Jr. was disinterested in the fight, and was only there for the money.

I don't blame these guys fighting for big paychecks. I blame the sport itself for taking boxing down this road. Boxing has destroyed itself by giving these the opportunities to fight for huge paydays every 6 months to a year.

Hatton himself didn't have another fight since the first Mayweather fight, in eleven months. And why would he fight four months after taking a beating like he did against Mayweather.

Big money fights have destroyed boxing. MMA right now has shows that are loaded with great fight. If the main event is horrible, there is usually a mid-card fight that is absolutely great. Boxing can't have a loaded card, because it is to top heavy with fighters making millions of dollars for one fight.

Boxing needs to just go away right now. Re-think their game plan, and reconstruct the pay levels for main event fighters.

If they don't, boxing will never recover from the funk it is in right now, and MMA has finally hammered the last nail in their coffin.
