Popovich Sends Players Home During National Broadcast, Stern Sends Assassin To Kill Pop

The San Antonio Spurs have been on the road a lot this year. Specifically they've been on the road for 12 games already this year. Their last road trip ended last night. The Spurs recently went on a 6 game road trip that ended with 4 games in 5 nights at Miami. So Spurs coach Greg Popovich sent home Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili, and Danny Green home last night to rest up for a huge game against the Memphis Grizzlies. The Spurs were also missing Stephen Jackson and Kawhi Leonard due to injury so they were not at full strength last night against the Miami Heat. Pop has rested his starters before for entire games. He's never done it though on a national TNT broadcast against the Miami Heat and that's the problem.

Fuhrer Stern is pissed that Pop rested his starters:

“I apologize to all NBA fans. This was an unacceptable decision by the San Antonio Spurs and substantial sanctions will be forthcoming.”

HOW DARE THE SPURS REST THEIR STARTERS ON A TNT NIGHT!

I love how Stern is pissed now on behalf of the "paying customers" when Pop has done this exact thing before just last year. That's because this game was on TNT last night. Pure and simple. TNT pays a lot of money for those national games and Stern doesn't want a pissed network. If Pop rested his starters the night before in Orlando and I would guarantee you he wouldn't have said anything.

Stern shouldn't be concerned about the Spurs resting players. He should be concerned about the absurd schedule these teams have to play. The Spurs aren't the only NBA team that has to play a crazy road schedule where they play 4 games in 5 nights. Every team will have a stretch like that. And that's the problem. If Stern was really "concerned" about the fans he would eliminate the 82 game schedule by 10 or 12 games to give teams more rest. That will never happen though because the NBA and owners make money off of those games just like how they make money off of the TNT games. And that's what pisses off Stern so much.

Now Popovich is marked for death by the Fuhrer. Too bad because everyone enjoys his sideline interviews.

Miranda Kerr is a nice way to start the mourning.... Mark this down as we have heard this before: A Detroit Lions QB looking good in practice..... Plaxico had a bad day yesterday.... A great feature on Talk Magazine.... Obama joker posters are popping up in Los Angeles.... NBA player vs. Porn Star to see who can get more Twitter followers.... How idiotic is this 'cash for clunkers' program?

Another WNBA franchise foled, the WNBA next?

Well the disaster known as the WNBA just had another team fold. This time it was the four-time champions Houston Comets.

The Comets were forced to fold because nobody was willing to buy the team. This marks the fifth time a WNBA team has folded and two others have moved since the league was founded in 1997.

I know this has been said multiple times, but I am going to continue the argument. The whole WNBA needs to fold up.

The league is losing millions of dollars and continue to have a shrinking fan base. The only reason this league exists is because of ESPN and David Stern. And even if ESPN didn't own the television coverage the league wouldn't exist.

Also the without the NBA, the WNBA wouldn't exist. The NBA subsidies the league for about $12 million a year. The NBA needs to stop piping in money to a league that doe nothing in return.

This league is dying a slow death and with the recent economic hard times, my bet is the WNBA will be around for one more year and then fold. NBA owners will not want to subsidise this league any longer and will force Stern to stop giving money to the WNBA. And without that cash, the WNBA couldn't exist.
