Another WNBA franchise foled, the WNBA next?

Well the disaster known as the WNBA just had another team fold. This time it was the four-time champions Houston Comets.

The Comets were forced to fold because nobody was willing to buy the team. This marks the fifth time a WNBA team has folded and two others have moved since the league was founded in 1997.

I know this has been said multiple times, but I am going to continue the argument. The whole WNBA needs to fold up.

The league is losing millions of dollars and continue to have a shrinking fan base. The only reason this league exists is because of ESPN and David Stern. And even if ESPN didn't own the television coverage the league wouldn't exist.

Also the without the NBA, the WNBA wouldn't exist. The NBA subsidies the league for about $12 million a year. The NBA needs to stop piping in money to a league that doe nothing in return.

This league is dying a slow death and with the recent economic hard times, my bet is the WNBA will be around for one more year and then fold. NBA owners will not want to subsidise this league any longer and will force Stern to stop giving money to the WNBA. And without that cash, the WNBA couldn't exist.
