Video: Dr. Lou Thinks Boise State Will Be the New Hoosiers

Last night's Miami-Pittsburgh game was particularly boring until Pittsburgh's Don Mason blew out his knee in a gruesome way. So last night's game was a waste, unless you watched the Dr. Lou segment at halftime. Dr. Lou is good at three thinks, recruiting, speeches, and probation. Last night Dr. Lou used his skill at speech last night to motivate Boise State. He see's a bright future for the Broncos. Life make movies based off this team big. Like Hoosiers big. Oh yeah, he wants all the haters like Lee Corso and Mark May to suck it.



Dr. Lou does realize that Kyle Wilson doesn't play for Boise State no longer? Oh and you can't tell me you listened to his speech and didn't immediately think of this.

Video: Boise State Defeats Virginia Tech in The Final Minute

Boise State 33 Virginia Tech 30: Boise State somehow defeated the Virginia Tech Hokies. I say somehow because Boise State blew a 17-0 lead, turned over the ball twice, and had 11 penalties for 105 yards. None of that mattered as Kellen Moore drove the Broncos down the field, while being aided by a questionable personnel foul, and hit Austin Pettis for the game-winning touchdown.

All what Boise State needs to do now is beat Oregon State at the end of month and they should go undefeated on the season. Will they make the championship game is what is yet to be determined. I still don't believe they'll make it to the championship game. Not even if there's not another undefeated team. The coaches would never vote Boise State higher than third.

As Musberger and Herbstreit pointed out the AP poll doesn't matter (Boise State is ranked 3rd in the AP) while the coaches poll ultimately matters when it comes to the BCS (Boise State is ranked 5th in the coaches poll). You really think the coaches would vote Boise State into the championship over a one-loss Texas or Florida? If you think that will happened, then you live in a dream world that I want to joined.

We're never going to see a Boise State or TCU in the championship game unless there's a playoff or there's a plus-one system. Sad to think about it, especially when Boise State has earned the right to at least be in the championship game discussion.

Byron Hout Finally Gives His Side of the LaGarrette Blount Punch Story

Eleven months later, Boise State linebacker Bryon Hout finally spoke about the night when former Oregon running back LaGarrette Blount punched him right in the chops after Boise State's victory over Oregon.

When asked what Hout said to Blount he responded, "'How 'bout that [blank]-whuppin'. That’s what I said."

Hout was not allowed to speak to the media after the incident so his side of the story was never revealed until now. There was speculation that Hout called Blount a derogatory name, but he said it was just emotion that got to the best of them.

"The whole incident was emotion," Hout said. "Emotions were running high from the game and I think that just carried over to the whole incident. I kind of learned that you can't let emotions do that anymore. You have to be in control of your emotions. A great football player is in control of his emotions out there. You can't just be out there running wild." 

Hout said he spoke to Blount the following day after the incident. He went on to say that both players were remorseful and they both know this incident will follow them wherever they go from here.

“It’s always going to be a shadow, I guess, in my career — a dark point. But I just try to learn from it. Everything happens for a reason and that happened to teach me and hopefully a lot of other players that you can’t let your emotions get out of control. … My kids are going to see it. It’s going to be something I’m going to have to explain to them.”

Looking back all emotions were high after that game. Boise State just defeated Oregon at home setting up a perfect season. The punch amplified those emotions. It became an instant racial hot point because Hout is white and Blount is black. The majority of people (mostly white) wanted Blount kicked off the Oregon team. Another percentage of people (Oregon fans and African-Americans) were wondering why Blount was suspended while Hout was given a slap on the wrist?  I'm just glad that both men moved on and reconciled with each other. In the end that is all what matters.

The Poinsettia Bowl

One of the most anticipated match ups of the bowl season will take place tonight. Boise St. and TCU are non-BCS heavyweights who will throw down in San Diego.

Boise St. is know for their crazy offense that has many formations and trick plays. TCU is known for their crazy defense that has many blitz packages.

This match up though is not the classic great defense vs. great offense. This game is about national respect. Boise St. was ranked 9Th in the country and is undefeated and was passed over by Ohio St. for a Fiesta Bowl bid.

TCU is fighting for respect they have already earned. They were the only team to hold Oklahoma to under 30 points in a game. Their defense is described as a SEC-type of defense. So good, Utah is studying their defense to prepare for their match up with Alabama.

Boise St. will face their toughest challenge of the year. The WAC had a down year and the Mountain West had one of the best years ever for a non-BCS conference. Also Boise St. quarterback Kellen Moore is a freshman quarterback who has never faced a pass rusher quite like TCU'S Jerry Hughes.

I expect this to be a great game, but I think the Boise St. offense will be to much for TCU.
