Haven't seen Pierce taken off the court in a wheelchair yet.
He's back in action. Jose3030 and his fabulous screenshots have made an appearance tonight. He will be providing pictures for the rest of the night. This first shot is of Boston Columnist and Kobe watching film of NBA greats.
Oh, ABC's interviewing LeBron tonight as well? What a ginormous douche he has become. (Via Bruce Arthur)
That screenshot makes it seem like Kobe & Jackie are watching a snuff film. (Via RJBO)
3rd Quarter
11:47 Andrew Bynum picks up a cheap foul against Boston. This half has already started out like the 1st half for the Celtics.
11:29 And this half has started like the 1st half. More fouls. Three fouls were called in the first 30 seconds of play. Please swollow your whistle Joey Crawford. You would be doing all of us a favor. Or just retire?
9:25 Rondo makes a sick layup. He might have to carry the entire Celtics team tonight. Especially since Ray Allen has four fouls already on the night. The refs are just sucking the life out of this game.
NBA Finals: Are the refs being paid by the foul??? (Via Eric Stangel)
8:00 "Tony Allen has no relation to Ray Allen"-Mike Breen. You think? I doubt Jesus Shuttlesworth would even have a single gene near a stiff like Tony Allen.
I think I'd rather have Jim Joyce reffing this game. (Via kt1000) Your not alone, Kris.
6:10 The Lakers are just running away with the game right now. They don't have an answer for Kobe or for Pau or for Fisher or for etc............ On the defensive end, all the Lakers have to do is foul Rondo because his hands are too big to shoot free throws.
Every Laker interviewed mentions Magic. Where's the love for A.C. Green? (Via RJBO) Come on RJBO! You know A.C. Green doesn't make love to anyone but his wife.
4:48 Nice to see Pau Gasol carry on the tradition of flopping Europeans. Good to see someone caring on Vlade Divac's name.
3:03 Boston already in the penalty for the quarter. How they are playing tonight, they might as well throw up the white flag for the game and move on to Game 2 on Sunday. LA is playing too well for Boston tonight.
How does Joey Crawford always get to call the big games? Does the NBA want horrible officiating in it's showcase? (Via JFein) Remember when C.B. Bucknor umpired in the ALCS? No league is immune from crappy officiating in big games.
Jackson: "Mama, there goes that man." DRINK! (Via RJBO) I have to agree with Kris. When can a NBA team hire him for we don't have to hear "Mama" anymore?
1:39 Ray Allen picks up his fifth foul. Boston completely imploding in a haze of Kobe, fouls, and age.
46.3 Rasheed hit with a Technical. I had 2 minutes left in the 1st half of my office pool for a Rasheed technical. Damn it all.
Los Angeles 84 Boston 64 at the end of three quarters. This game is over. Boston has no answer for the Lakers tonight.
4th Quarter
Breen getting his stats on the 2-3-2 format from the CBS research staff. (RJBO) I guess so. I do agree though, the finals should go back to the 2-2-1-1-1 format. With chartered planes, the travel isn't what it used to be.
11:09 The Celtics looks disinterested. Rasheed is picking up fouls quickly while Perkins and Rondo look like they're ready to rest on his hotel bed.
9:10 As soon as I say the Celtics are dead, they are quietly crawling back into the game. 15-point Lakers lead, but there's plenty of time left for the Celtics to make a comeback. They've done it before against the Lakers. Also Nate Robinson is making a solid contribution off the bench. This game has finally become interesting.
I like Chris Rock, but I don't want to listen to his interview during the NBA Finals. Especially if he's being interviewed by a White Women. /Chris Rock'd Speaking of Chris Rock, Jose3030 already has the screenshot of him and Doris Burke.
Hilarious of Phil Jackson to shutdown that interview.
"There's something wrong when Ron [Artest]is the voice of reason." JVG (Via kt1000) I would be more worried if Stephen Jackson is the voice of reason. /Malice at the Palace'd
5:25 Other than getting out-rebounded, beaten in transition, bullied into foul trouble, and looking old enough to enter a retirement home, it's been a goodnight for the Celtics.
I'd love to see a JVG v Mark Jackson Scrabble match. Neither guy would break 200. (Via kt1000) JVG would with his immense vocabulary.
4:08 11-point Lakers lead. I'm getting ready for Game 2 if I'm the Celtics.
2:15 Rondo is was too passive tonight. He needs to finish off those drives instead of passing.
1:47 Ron-Ron drives the stake through the Celtics heart with a 3-pointer. Goodnight Irene.
Final Los Angeles 102 Boston 89: Other than the refs and the Celtics age sucking the life out of the building, this was a fun game.
Join me again for the live-blog of Game 2. Thanks for the comments and Goodnight Now!
That screenshot makes it seem like Kobe & Jackie are watching a snuff film.
ReplyDeleteLOL, RJBO. What was that old Nic Cage movie called when he watched a snuff film of a murder and cracked the case?
ReplyDeleteI think it's 8MM.
ReplyDeleteI love Doris Burke...
ReplyDelete/TMI?
That's it RJBO. What a terrible movie that was.

I have a question: Is a suit jacket w/ a t shirt required dress code to get into the Staples Center?
ReplyDelete@Kris: Actually to get into any event in Los Angeles, the less clothes the better.
ReplyDelete"Hand reduction surgery????"
ReplyDeleteI think I'd rather have Jim Joyce reffing this game.
ReplyDeleteI doubt Jesus Shuttlesworth would even have a single gene near a stiff like Tony Allen.
ReplyDeleteMichael Jackson >>>>>>>>>> rest of the Jacksons
Of course, I get home from the local watering hole and this thing becomes uninteresting.
ReplyDeleteEvery Laker interviewed mentions Magic. Where's the love for A.C. Green?
ReplyDeleteAre we really having a debate over Derek Fisher vs Robert Horry for retired Lakers numbers?
ReplyDelete"Maybe if this were the Celtics, but here it's more selective" JVG
Gasol tried to earn a cheap 50 bucks there...
ReplyDeleteHow does Joey Crawford always get to call the big games?
ReplyDeleteDoes the NBA want horrible officiating in it's showcase?
I almost forgot about the suspension for Joe DeRosa.
ReplyDelete"I think he should have been fined $2.50 and not missed a game." JVG on Joe DeRosa
ReplyDeleteJVG: "(DeRosa) should've been fined $2.50." ???
ReplyDeleteJackson: "Mama, there goes that man." DRINK!
ReplyDeleteI am so tired of "Momma, there goes that man" from Mark Jackson. Someone please hire him to coach already.
ReplyDelete5th foul on Ray Allen. Geez.
ReplyDeleteBreen getting his stats on the 2-3-2 format from the CBS research staff.
ReplyDeleteA Rasheed Wallace T?
ReplyDelete/The sky is blue & water is wet
//Larry King'd
a T from 'Sheed. Oh that takes me back...
ReplyDeleteI guess the NBA really does want Finals games to be longer than World Series games...
ReplyDeleteKeith, Breen said "no home team has ever swept the 3 middle games in the Finals." JVG quickly corrected him by reminding him that the '04 Pistons & '06 Heat did.
ReplyDelete@RJBO: I know.
ReplyDeleteI didn't make my initial comment clear enough.
ReplyDeleteThis is the NBA. Everybody makes a run.
ReplyDeleteDeSean Jackson tweet: "IM LOVN MY LAKERS RIGHT NOW!!!! YEAAA SOMEBODY SAY SOMETHN.. BOSTON GONNA GET DA SWEEP... KOBE MAMBA.. AND YA DO KNO DAT"
ReplyDeleteI think he's a Lakers fan?
Link
The lead is down to 13!
ReplyDelete/Weber State vs. Montana'd
@JFein: Jackson is from Long Beach. So yeah, he's a Lakers fan.
ReplyDeleteubiquitous celebrity interview at a Lakers game.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm happy Phil shut it down...
WHAT WAS THAT, KG???
ReplyDelete"There's something wrong when Ron [Artest]is the voice of reason." JVG
ReplyDeleteRequisite Jack Nicholson disgusted shot!
ReplyDeleteBig Baby stuffed by Artest, leading to a Pau breakaway dunk = Dagger
ReplyDeleteIt must be a blowout if they're showing replays of Chris Rock.
ReplyDeleteSorry for the lack of comments, I'm just enjoying the beginning of the Juan Samuel era.
ReplyDelete/shoot me now
It's also good to see the Eagles star WR with show off his great literacy......and on the eve of the national spelling bee, no less.
ReplyDeleteJVG & Mark Jackson are trash-talking about head-to-head Scrabble & Connect Four. Bleh.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see a JVG v Mark Jackson Scrabble match. Neither guy would break 200.
ReplyDelete@JFein: Why do you think Jackson left Cal early? He would have never graduated.
ReplyDeleteOn cue, JFein....
ReplyDeleteWhy is ESPN using the Sunday Night Baseball music for the Spelling Bee promo?
"Know that show Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader? I am surely not smarter than any of those kids in that spelling bee." JVG
ReplyDeleteA rare moment of honesty, and a promo for another network's show!
See you guys tomorrow. Say a prayer for John Wooden.
ReplyDeleteGoodnight guys and thanks for the comments.
