Former NBA and college coach Chuck Daly passed away last night. He was 78. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in March and was undergoing treatment. He died in Jupiter, Florida with his family at his side.

Daly is famous for coaching the Detroit "Bad Boys" from 1983-1992. He lead Isiah Thomas, Joe Dumars, Dennis Rodman, and John Salley to back-to-back championships in 1989 and 1990. He will also be remembered as the first coach of the original dream team back in 1992. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1994. His Detroit teams were famous for their rough play and tough defense. "Jordan Rules" was Daly's way of stopping Michael Jordan.

Daly also coached the Cleveland Cavaliers, Orlando Magic and the New Jersey Nets. He also coached at Punxsutawney High School, Boston College, and Penn before coaching in the NBA. He was elected as one of the Top Ten Coaches in NBA history back in 1996. He will be missed.
