Must List: Week 14

The last official week of the college football season. It always amazes me how fast the season flies by and then it's over and you're into bowl season. This week's slate of games are pretty meh. Besides the Iron Bowl, everything else won't go very well with leftovers. Even the Friday games are pretty meh. Kinda tells you how down all of these conferences were this season.

Thursday, November 28th
Texas Tech at Texas, 7:30 (Fox Sports 1: Gus Johnson, Charles Davis, Kristina Pink) Texas has had an amazingly quiet season since shitting the bed against BYU. Yes they were crushed by Oklahoma State, but the Pokes also destroyed Baylor. Does Mack Brown possibly keep his job after this season? Is there really another candidate for that job that is worth firing...err....forcing Mack into retirement for? Nick Saban ain't taking that job. Somehow Mack might survive past this season.

Friday, November 29th
Arkansas at LSU, 2:30 (CBS: Tim Brando, Aaron Taylor, Kristina Akra) Amazingly this is the most interesting game on Friday. Sigh. Seriously they moved the Iron Bowl for we could watch Bielema's man boobs get smashed at LSU?

Oregon State at Oregon, 7:00 (Fox Sports 1: Justin Kutcher, James Bates, Barry Poppinga) I can't believe how bad Oregon State has been since losing to Stanford. I mean they were never really that good this season as evidence by the Eastern Washington loss, but giving up 69 points to Washington bad? Woof. I know Mike Reiley is a hometown guy and beloved by Oregon State fans, but having him as your coach is stuck in a sex-less marriage. Yeah you're happy, but there's no action and you're stuck in the missionary position.

Saturday, November 30th
Florida State at Florida, Noon (ESPN: Dave Pasch, Brian Griese, Tom Luginbill) Can't you just see Florida winning this game? Wouldn't that be Alabama's luck? Their biggest opponent losses to one of their conference rivals right before the season ends. That would probably be the most-Alabama is lucky story ever, right after Oklahoma State losing to Iowa State paving the way for Alabama to reach the title game despite not winning their division.

Ohio State at Michigan, Noon (ABC: Brad Nessler, Todd Blackledge, Holly Rowe) It's taken a few years but Michigan fans are finding out how bad Al Borges is as an offensive coordinator. His offenses are so bland and yet he continues to run them and keep finding jobs. I'm not saying Michigan would have been better this year without Borges, but they wouldn't have been this bad offensively.

Duke at North Carolina, Noon (ESPN2: Beth Mowins, Joey Galloway, Paul Carcaterra) Do you realize that Duke(!!!) controls their destiny and if they win this game they're in the ACC Championship game. I'm sure when the ACC expanded and added the championship game they totally expected Boston College, Wake Forest, and Duke to represent the conference in the conference title game.

Alabama at Auburn, 3:30 (CBS: Verne Lundquist, Gary Danielson, Tracy Wolfson) I heard Pat Forde this morning discuss that if Auburn wins this game, they could jump over Ohio State for a spot in the BCS title game. That's freaking amazing and tells you how much the computers think of Ohio State and the Big Ten. I'm surprised Ohio State hasn't tried to jump to the SEC yet because it's clear that it doesn't pay to be in the B1G. I'm sure though adding Maryland and Rutgers will help the B1G's reputation next season though.

Clemson at South Carolina, 7:00 (ESPN2: Mark Jones, Brock Huard, Jessica Mendoza) I'm expecting a South Carolina win followed by a smarmy comment from the Old Ball Coach. If God does exist, he gives us this pleasure.

Texas A&M at Missouri, 7:45 (ESPN: Brent Musburger, Kirk Herbstreit, Heather Cox) Missouri needs this game badly. They still control their destiny and a win puts them in the SEC title game. And everything has been set up for a victory. The game is at home and their starting QB is back. This being Missouri though you know they're just going to screw everything up.

UCLA at USC, 8:00 (ABC: Sean McDonough, Chris Spielman, Shannon Spake) After UCLA lost last week, I could already see the downfall of Jim Mora Jr at UCLA. Junior Mora is one of those coaches that looks great on paper. He's good looking, gives off the impression that he's smart, has the pedigree but he's basically Lane Kiffin without the publicity. Wouldn't surprise me if UCLA losses this game and UCLA never really recovers.

Recipe of the Week, Mac and Cheese: Foodspin has a lot of great recipes for Thanksgiving and Mac and Cheese is one of them. The great thing is that this recipe is easy to make. I personally like to brown over my mac and cheese.

Alcoholic Beverage of the Week, Old Crow Reserve: It's cold where I live so I know it's really cold where you live. And when it's cold it's time to break out the bourbon/whiskey. Old Crow Reserve has a vanilla taste that is a delight and you can feel the bourbon warming your body as you drink it.

    1. That was confusing how I stated that but what I mean is their biggest opponent (Florida State) and their (Alabama) conference rival (Florida)
