Over time I've been one of the biggest critics of Kings announcer/sports radio talk show host Grant Napear. Mostly I've been critical of Grant over his radio show when he acts like Mr. Tough Guy with callers. Sorry, but that radio may work in eastern cities like Philly or New York but it doesn't work out here. Napear though in my opinion is one of the best NBA announcers out there and he's always had a passion for the Kings.
Last night after the Kings-Lakers game concluded Napear and color analyst Jerry Reynolds tried and failed to hold back their tears as they signed off on what possibly could be their final game in Sacramento. I expected Reynolds to cry because he's an emotional man. Napear is a different story and that was the shocking part. The New York tough guy actually has a heart.
It's tough saying goodbye.
