Leave it up to the Sharks to make a playoff game interesting. Whether you want to call them chokers or whether you find them disappointing, the Sharks will make playoff games interesting. Game 1 of the first round between the Sharks and Los Angeles Kings sure was interesting. After a testy start to the game and long periods where both teams dominated shooting while the other team went cold, this game had a great atmosphere.
So of course the game had to go to overtime. This game had a feel like it could go multiple overtimes. It got close but the game didn't go to multiple overtimes. With a little over five minutes remaining in the game, Joe Pavelski broke the Los Angeles Kings hearts. Certainly wasn't the first time Pavelski has broken hearts in the playoffs.
One hell of a way to start the NHL Playoffs.
