Foul Ball: Lincecum Dominates, The Legend of Pete Orr, & Extra Innings

San Francisco 8 Colorado 1: Tim Lincecum took a no-hitter into the seventh inning against the Rockies before Carlos Gonzalez hit a clean single. Lincecum finished the game by pitching 7 2/3 eventually giving up three hits, one run, while striking out 10 batters. This was Lincecum's 28th 10 strikeout performance tying him with Christy Matthewson for the club record. Freddy Sanchez and Pat Burrell hit home runs in the game to go along with the booming home run hit by Nate Schierholtz.

Philadelphia 3 Milwaukee 6, 12 Innings: The legendary Pete Orr knocked in the game-tying runs for the Phillies in the ninth inning off of Rollie Fingers wannabe John Axford to send the game to extra innings. The Brewers bullpen from there shut down the Phillies and then scored three runs in the 12th to take the lead and eventually the victory.

Boston 9 Toronto 1: In the annual Patriots Day game for Boston, the Red Sox trounced the Blue Jays. Dice-K actually looked impressive in seven innings of work giving up just one hit and no runs. The Red Sox hit three home runs in the game and drove in nine RBIs. The new $100 Million Dollar Man Adrian Gonzalez did leave six men on base.

Cubs 1 San Diego 0, 10 Innings: Since I'm petty and I don't want to see any other NL West team do good, I took great pleasure in seeing the Padres lose a 1-0 game. They've won so many games like that, it's about time they lost that type of game. Tyler Colvin drove in the game-winning run in the tenth inning.

Kansas City 3 Cleveland 7, 10 Innings: Who knew these two teams would meet this late in April while atop of the Al Central? The Indians furthered their lead in the Al Central when pinch-hitter Shelley Duncan hit an RBI double in the 10th inning giving the Indians the lead and the eventual victory. The Indians now have a two game lead over the Royals in the AL Central and a five game lead over Chicago.

Tampa Bay 5 White Sox 0: David Price allowed four hits and no runs in eight innings to finally pick up a victory over the White Sox. Pice had been 0-4 up to that point against the White Sox in his short career. Felipe Lopez and Ben Zobrist each hit first inning home runs. The Rays have now gone 7-3 in their last ten games after starting the year off horribly. Of course the Legend of Sam Fuld make a spectacular catch in the game.

Video of the Day: If the Mariners weren't already bad, they produce horrible commercials.

  1. The amazing thing about Lincecum last night was that his fastball was off last night.
