The Must List: Week 8

Before I begin the Must List, I first must talk about this link that a friend shared. Luke Perry of Beverly Hills 90210 fame posed for pictures with random people at a Sci-fi convention. I cannot stop laughing at these pictures. Who does something like that? Is Luke Perry that desperate for money that he's now posing with pictures with random people at a Sci-fi convention? And you know what? He wasn't the only 'celebrity' posing for pictures at the convention. Looking at these photo's have made my day ten times better*.

*Before you say, "Keith you shouldn't make fun of those people." I would be the first one in line to take a portrait photo with Brent Spiner

Thursday, October 21st
UCLA at No. 2 Oregon, ESPN/ESPN3D (9:00 PM ET) - Oregon plays their first game since becoming the number one ranked AP team and number two ranked BCS team. These Thursday night games with a highly ranked team are usually pretty epic. Remember when Louisville was undefeated back in 2006 and played Rutgers on a Thursday night? Remember when a undefeated and number one ranked USC team played Oregon State back in 2008? I'm not going to say UCLA could defeat Oregon tonight, but it wouldn't surprise me. Weird stuff happens on college football Thursday nights.

Saturday, October 23rd
No. 7 Michigan State at Northwestern, ESPN (12:00 PM ET) - We finally have a good Big Ten morning game. Sparty is undefeated and has Gerard Butler showing up in East Lansing. Northwestern in the meantime is 5-1 on the season. Yes this game might not mean much, but after the crap we've received in the morning slot lately I'll take this game.

Notre Dame vs. Navy @ East Rutherford, NJ, CBS (12:00 PM ET) - Navy has beat Notre Dame twice in the past 40 years. Both of those wins happened in South Bend. So Navy will look to beat Notre Dame once again, but this time in a neutral site.

No. 6 LSU at No. 4 Auburn, CBS (3:30 PM ET) - How these teams are undefeated is beyond me and any one else. They've both lived on the edge all season long. Well someone has to lose. Or a asteroid will strike Earth and we leave this planet with Les Miles' 2010 LSU team undefeated. I'm rooting for the asteroid.

No. 13 Wisconsin at No. 15 Iowa, ABC/ESPN (3:30 PM ET) - Let down game for Wisconsin? They're coming off a emotional home win over the undefeated and number one ranked Ohio State. I could easily see them getting blown out by the Hawkeyes in Iowa City. And the Real American doesn't lose in Iowa City.

No. 8 Alabama at Tennessee, ESPN (7:00 PM ET) - Tennessee is such a dog, PETA will be monitoring this game to make sure Alabama doesn't abuse them to harshly. I would take the over if I was a gambling man on this game.

North Carolina at Miami (FL), ESPN2 (7:30 PM ET) - Mark Jones and Bob Davie + Two teams that have fallen apart + Butch Davis returning to Miami = A spectacular train wreck that I cannot look away from.

No. 1 Oklahoma at No. 11 Missouri, ABC (8:00 PM ET) - If you had Missouri playing Oklahoma late in October with both teams being undefeated in your office pool, then you win. I have no idea what to make of this game. I haven't watched Missouri enough to determine whether they're actually this good to be undefeated or have they just played an easy schedule so far. As for Oklahoma, they're unpredictable. They needed last second defensive stands to beat Utah State, Air Force, and Texas and blew out Iowa State last week. I have no idea what to expect from this game.

Washington at No. 18 Arizona, ESPN (10:15 PM ET) - For some reason these late night Pac-10 games have had some really interesting finishes. Arizona beat Cal on a last minute touchdown. Washington beat USC on a last minute field goal. And last week Washington beat Oregon State in double overtime. I have to watch this game*.

* Watch, nothing important will happen in this game now.

Recipe of the Week, Fried Potatoes: I'm hit or miss on fried food. Sometimes it's a good idea to fry food and sometimes it's a terrible idea. Fried potatoes are excellent and a delicious side meal for your breakfast and dinner.

Alcoholic Beverage of the Week, Guinness: Yes, I'm going with an Irish beer with a Irish meal. I was feeling it. I've never been the biggest Guinness fan, but it's a good drink every once in a while. Plus there's enough alcohol in it to get drunk in a hurry.

1 comment:

  1. Better paying for a pic with Luke Perry than a phone call from Lou Ferrigno.

Plus there's enough alcohol in Guiness to get drunk in a hurry.

*clip and save for Michigan & the Lions after their bye weeks*
