Foul Ball: How About An Ass Whupping?

Foul Ball is your daily baseball recap

REMEMBER! VOTE FOR PABLO SANDOVAL FOR THE LAST NL ALL-STAR SPOT!

22 Phillies 1 Reds: Wow! Just Wow! The Reds received an ass whupping. They were publicly flogged. However you want to look at it, the Reds were destroyed last night. The Phillies scored 10 runs in the first inning alone, eight runs with two outs. Hell even Cole Hamels drove in more runs than the Reds scored. The Phillies scored so many runs, that they could even bring Tyler Walker in from the bullpen. Yes, it was that bad for the Reds. Dusty Baker'd

- In other Phillies news. Raul Ibanez has begun his rehab assignment in the minors. Also the Phillies have shown interest in signing free agent pitcher Pedro Martinez. He would be a good addition to a weak starting rotation.

6 A's 0 Red Sox: Did you know Nomar made his return to Boston? Neither did I. Especially since the media hardly reported about it. Mr. Mia Hamm did make his long awaited return to Boston after being traded in 2004. Nomar singled twice and drove in the first run of the game. Rookie pitcher Brett Anderson out pitched John Smoltz in the game. Anderson pitched a two-hit shutout.

7 Blue Jays 6 Yankees: Not even the streaking Yankees were a match for Jays pitcher Rickey Romero. Romero went 6 1/3 innings giving up seven hits and three runs. Yankees pitcher Andy I'm Sorry for Taking Steroids Pettitte gave up five hits and six runs in six innings. Best part of this game was A-Fraud being thrown out at first base on an outfield assist.

4 Cubs 2 Braves: Derek Lee has been tearing the cover off the baseball lately. Lee hit his 16th home run of the season in the game. Lee has been surging for the Cubs since mid-May, replacing the bat of Aramis Ramirez. Also 38th-round pick Randy Wells picked up the win for the Cubs.

5 Giants 4 Marlins: Pablo Sandoval is a beast. F-the rest of the All-Star voting hopefuls. Sandoval hit a grand slam last night to help the Giants beat the Marlins. All-Star Matt Cain picked up the win. Of course though Brian Wilson had to scare the bejesus out of Giants fans in the ninth inning. Wilson eventually ended the game and picked up his 22nd save. Vote Pablo!

4 Royals 3 Tigers: The Royals scored two runs in the eighth inning to tie the game. Then Mike Jacobs hit a game-winning home run in the ninth inning to give Kansas City the win. Saying the Tigers offense is struggling is an understatement.
