Pacers to Vancouver?

We all remember the last time an NBA franchise was in Vancouver. Steve Francis pouting, Big Country Reeves receiving a huge contract, and the team moving after only six years north of the border. These are only rumors, but the Vancouver Canucks owner could buy the Pacers and move them to Vancouver. "Rumors are starting to spread that Francesco Aquilini, owner of the NHL’s Vancouver Canucks, is reportedly expressing interest in purchasing the Indiana Pacers and moving the team to Vancouver, B.C."

Pacers owner Herb Simon could be using Aquilini as leverage to get a new stadium deal. And we all remember when former Sonics owner Howard Schultz used Clay Bennett as leverage against Seattle. So this rumor could become reality.

Vancouver is a beautiful city though.

  1. Basketball up north is like hockey down south. It doesn't work.

  2. Agreed about Vancouver being beautiful. I've been there once before, and while it was a little hard to enjoy it because we were running late to catch a ship to Alaska, from what I remember (this was 6 or so years ago), Vancouver is an extremely beautiful city and I wish I could have enjoyed it more during that time.
