Kris and myself agreed that last night's Jeopardy's episode wasn't the greatest. The contestants were inpatient, elitist, and condescending. These people could answer questions about transportation and agriculture but couldn't answer a question about Will Ferrell impersonating Janet Reno. That should have been the first clue that these contestants don't watch entertainment like "SNL" or football. Entertainment to them is spending time in the library studying 18th century literature.
Just their luck though "The Super Bowl" was the Final Jeopardy question of the night. The question was, "Which NFL team has not played in the Super Bowl?" The first lady got the answer correctly, the Detroit Lions. The only guy out of the three answered "??" which would have worked if Cleveland didn't already call of three of their teams "??". The 2nd lady of the panel and winner of the night very condescending guessed the "Jacksonville Panthers." What got me wasn't that she combined the Carolina Panthers and Jacksonville Jaguars, it was her reaction to Alex when he was trying to correct her.
What a bitch. She didn't even let Alex announce the correct answer. As Kris said, the definition of elitism. With that being said though it goes to show that not even Jeopardy contestants care about the Detroit Lions.

ReplyDeleteAnything to match the host. That "Good for you!" he gave the chick that got it right is priceless.
Bitch: "I don't care."
She cared so little, she couldn't even spell Jacksonville correctly. I know they have limited time, but 'Jaiksonville?'
to be fair, it was which NFC team hasn't made the Super Bowl...Cleveland & Jacksonville haven't made it yet either.
ReplyDeleteAnd yea, Trebek's response to the woman who got it right was rather condescending as well.
