The Roundup 3/10/2010

Dana O'Neil Is The Best
There are a lot of college basketball writers that are really good. People like Pat Forde, Seth Davis, and Jeff Goodman to name a few are really good reads. ESPN's Dana O'Neil though is better than all of them. She brings a great mixture of human interest pieces to go along with in-depth coverage of teams and conferences. This piece by O'Neil is no different. She breaks down every team playing in the Big East conference with great knowledge of every team. If your looking forward to the Big East Tournament, then I suggest reading it.

ESPN Changing It's Tune?
Fanhouse talks about ESPN radio hosts Mike Greenberg and Scott Van Pelt changing their tune on the NCAA tournament expanding. Fanhouse argues that ESPN has called for the tournament to expand for years for they could get a piece of the NCAA Tournament. Fanhouse finds it curious that ESPN radio voices are really outspoken on the idea of the tournament expanding since the NCAA announced they may not opt out of their TV contract with CBS. Would it really surprise anyone if ESPN higher ups told their radio voices to be outspoken about the tournament expansion? ESPN wants a piece of the tournament pie, and if they don't get it they don't want anyone to have it.

Shot of the Year
This is a couple of weeks old, but it's awesome nevertheless. Murray State player Isiah Canaan shot a half court shot from his knee with time running out against Southeast Missouri State. Watch it yourself.
