Russell Wilson Was Drafted Again

MLB held their annual Rule 5 draft today during their winter meetings. The Rule 5 draft is where teams can select players off of other teams who are not on 40-man rosters. Once a player is selected, he must stay with that team for the entire season and not be optioned to the minors. He can be sent back though to his original team. Got it? Okay good.

I bring this up today because the Texas Rangers drafted Russell Wilson is today's Rule 5 draft. Yes, that Russell Wilson and they'll be playing 12,000 for him to the Colorado Rockies. Yes the Rangers will be playing $12,000 dollars for a player who'll never show up and play for them. Nice publicity move Rangers.
