Must List: Week 14

Posting the Must List a day early because of Thanksgiving. This is the real rivalry week and the last full week of scheduled games in college football. This has been an interesting year in college football but I would not say this has been a great year. We've had four to five strong teams but none of them look like all-time great teams. I personally haven't watched as much college football this year than in the past because of the Giants playoff run but I've gotten more into the games this year and in my opinion this has been a weak year. That though will not stop me from enjoying the last week of the year. Here's this week's must list.

Thursday, November 22nd
TCU at Texas, 7:30 (ESPN: Rece Davis, Jesse Palmer, David Pollack, Samantha Steele) TCU has replaced Texas A&M at Texas' Thanksgiving rival. I find this game interesting from the aspect that these teams seem to be going in opposite directions. Gary Patterson seems to have one foot out the door towards Arkansas while Texas is rebuilding their team. Going to be interesting to see how this game plays out while digesting turkey.

Friday, November 23rd
Arizona State at Arizona, 10:00 (ESPN: Carter Blackburn, Rod Gilmore, Jemele Hill) There's a big slate of game on Friday but none of them are very interesting except this one. Both Arizona and Arizona State hired new coaches this year and both programs appear to be headed in the right direction with the new hiring. I like Arizona a little more with Rich Rod than Arizona State and Todd "Next Job" Graham.

Saturday, November 24th
Michigan at Ohio State, Noon (ABC: Sean McDonough, Chris Spielman, Quint Kessenich) Amazingly Ohio Stat can finish the year undefeated with a victory in this game but no one has paid attention to them because they're on probation. Michigan needs a victory badly and a Nebraska loss to reach the B1G championship game. Both of these teams are going to be good in the future though with their current coaches.

Baylor vs. Texas Tech, 2:30 (Fox: Justin Kutcher, Eric Crouch, Darius Walker) Baylor ruins everything. I hate them for ruining Kansas State's season. I hope they lose by 1000 points to Texas Tech. Fuck Baylor.

Oregon at Oregon State, 3:00 (Pac-12 Network) I look up the times, announcers, and networks at the506 forum and there weren't any announcers listed for this game at the time I looked it up. Oregon has just owned Oregon State recently even when the Beavers have had good teams like the one this year. Will this year be any different? I doubt it.

Florida at Florida State, 3:30 (ABC: Brad Nessler, Todd Blackledge, Holly Rowe) Both of these teams only have one loss on the year but they've been under the radar because they're not in the title game picture.

Oklahoma at Oklahoma State, 3:30 (ESPN: Bob Wischusen, Danny Kanell, Maria Taylor) Another fun rivalry game that has no meaning outside of the state of Oklahoma. I've always enjoyed this game recently because of how fun both of these teams are on offense.

Stanford at UCLA, 6:30 (Fox: Gus Johnson, Charles Davis, Julie Alexandria) Stanford controls their destiny in this game. Win and they're hosting UCLA next week in the Pac-12 championship game. Seriously if Stanford wins this game they'll play UCLA in back-to-back weeks. When does this ever happen in college football?

South Carolina at Clemson, 7:00 (ESPN: Joe Tessitore, Matt Millen, Shannon Spake) Another rivalry game with no meaning outside of the state. Like Bedlam though the offenses make this game worth watching. This game is also worth watching to see if another brawl breaks out while Lou Holtz looks confused on the sidelines.

Notre Dame at USC, 8:00 (ABC: Brent Musburger, Kirk Herbstreit, Heather Cox) Well here's our second the last chance to see if the BCS will be thrown into chaos with a loss. The way this season has been going for USC (Barkley ain't starting this game) I doubt this will happen. For once in my life though I'll be rooting for the penis protectors.

Alcoholic Beverage of the Week, Snow Day: It is said the best beer to go along with turkey and gravy is a Belgium beer. My favorite Belgium beer makers are Fat Tire and they're winter seasonal is Snow Day.

Recipe of the Week, Pumpkin Pie: You can't have Thanksgiving without pumpkin pie. It's like having the Fourth of July without fireworks. Now have a great Thanksgiving weekend people.

  3. Stanford may win the PAC this year, but after allowing Alabama an easy path to another title, they can't wash away the stain on their souls. (still not over it)
