Perfection!

If there has ever been a pitcher in baseball that deserved to have his night, I would always say Matt Cain. And Cain finally got to have his night yesterday against the Houston Astros.

Giants fans have known this for a long time and it finally reached the conscious of the rest of America that Matt Cain doesn't receive any run support. None. It's a large reason why Cain has always had a record below .500 until recently. That's why it's ironic that on the night Cain only needed one run he received 10 runs.

Cain didn't just throw a perfect game though, he threw one of the best games ever. According to Bill James' "Game Score" Cain has thrown the 2nd greatest game ever only behind Kerry Wood's 20-strikeout one-hit performance. Cain struck out 14 batters to tie Sandy Koufax for the most strikeouts thrown in a perfect game.

And Cain deserved it all. Including this great catch. Congrats Matty.
