Foul Ball: The Day Of The Blown Save And The Lost Inge

San Francisco 6, Cincinnati 5: The Giants desperately needed a win in Cincinnati. The Great American Ballpark is a house of horrors for the Giants. The Reds had already taken the first two games of the series and with a two-run lead in the ninth looked like they were going to sweep the Giants again in Cincinnati. Then Angel Pagan hit a three-run home run off of Sean Marshall in the ninth inning to get the Cincinnati monkey of the Giants back.

Miami 2, New York 3: The play by play in the bottom of the ninth with Heath Bell on to close for the Marlins.
- D Wright walk
- Duda grounded out
- Davis walk
- Thole walk
- Turner walk
- Hairston fielder's choice
- Nieuwenhuis single
2 runs, 1 hit, 0 errors and Bell's third blown save of the season.
Anaheim 3, Tampa Bay 4: When I saw Brandon Allen hit a walk-off home run for the Rays against the Angels, I immediately thought of bitter A's fans raising their hands in the air and screaming. The A's were the teams that used to turn other team's scrapheap players into value. Now it's opposite day. (Video via Big League Stew)

Kansas City 4, Cleveland 2: Someone stop the Royals. They're actually on a winning streak. Kansas City took 2 out of 3 in Cleveland after losing 12 straight games including a 0-10 home stand. All of the Royals wins this year has been on the road. Maybe they should play all their games on the road this season.

Seattle 5, Detroit 4: The game is irrelevant. I need to take this time to reflect upon the Brandon Inge era in Detroit. (Bows Head)
Farewell Sweet Prince.

Toronto 2, Baltimore 5: I'm trying not to get Kris excited, but maybe we need to start taking Baltimore more seriously? Adam Jones and Matt Wieters are both racking. The O's are getting contributions from guys like Chris Davis. I looked at BABIP to see if the O's are due to regress and they're actually middle of the pack for both pitching and offense. So maybe the O's are for real? We'll check back with them this time in May.

Washington 1, San Diego 2: No one watched this game because it was played in San Diego and the NFL Draft was on, but we had another blown lead by a bullpen. Tyler Clippard couldn't hold onto the lead in the 8th inning giving up the game-winning double to Mark Kotsay out of all people.

Boston 10, Chicago 3: Last Saturday Phillip Humber threw a perfect game. This was his line for his Thursday state: 5 Innings, 8 hits, 9 runs, 9 earned runs, 3 walks, 5 strikeouts, 3 home runs. Jeez, the Seattle Mariners are terrible.

Create a Caption: Whooooooooooooooo! Maybe we're not so shitty after all.

  1. Reading Beyond the Boxscore would show the Orioles probably aren't going away anytime soon.
