Tebow All The Time

Are you sick of Tim Tebow yet? Sports Illustrated hopes not because for the second time in four weeks, Tim Tebow is on the cover of Sports Illustrated. This is also already the seventh time Tebow has been on the cover of Sports Illustrated.

The headline for this issue of Sports Illustrated reads as if Skip Bayless was the headline writer. "Tebow! Amazing, Incredible, Phenomenal, Mind-Blowing, Incomprehensible, Unbelievable......." I'm not kidding. Click on the photo and read the headline.

Now I'm a Tebow fan. I'm rooting for the guy because so many people seem to be rooting against him. That being said, this is starting become a little much. Tebow is a fine player, but he's not having a MVP season like Aaron Rodgers or seen his career revived like Alex Smith. He's just another quarterback at the moment who plays out of his ass for the last quarter after sucking something awful the first three quarters.

What is happening to Tebow via the media at the moment is a little like what happened to Tony Mandarich. The media, specifically Sports Illustrated, built up Mandarich and then tore him down when he failed. That's what is happening with Tebow but magnified by 100 times. The media is licking their chops waiting for Tebow to fail. It's going to be epic.

  2. And if general NFL trends have any sort of effect on Tebow and the Broncos whatsoever, he will end up getting torn down.

Now through all this time, Tebow might actually become a better QB, but there is no way on earth his close game win percentage will remain what it is now over the course of many seasons.
