Thursday Night Football Open Thread

The Raiders and Chargers are playing on the NFL Network. Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech are playing on ESPN. Case Kennum is about to pass for over 1,000 yards in a game against Tulane on CBS Sportsnet. So enjoy whatever game you're watching, leave comments, and don't be a troll.

  1. My gawd the Georgia Tech offense can be glorious to watch.

  2. VPI and GT, I bet you Kris is glued to his screen right now.

  3. Too bad ESPN finally gets a watchable Thursday Night game and it's versus an NFL game....

An aside: I'm calling shenanigans on this Mickey Redmond Soundboard from Fox Sports Detroit. First...he actually got an award for his broadcasting? Second, only one grumble about the refs???

    ReplyDelete
  4. They were being generous to Mickey.

    ReplyDelete
  5. A bunch of smoke behind you means "it's Veteran's Day weekend," Rich Eisen? I....guess.

  6. Mike Mayock has three ties in his wardrobe.

    ReplyDelete
  7. This is weird seeing Brad Nessler in the NFL Net booth.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Mayock looks like a ceramic doll.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I could do without Mike Mayock, but anything's better than that shitshow last year. #Lowbar

    ReplyDelete
  10. "Protect the field goal," Mike Mayock? Chargers still could have kicked a 37-yard field goal from where they were backed up to.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Take the tackle like a man, Jacoby.

    ReplyDelete
  12. "There can be no foul for pass interference in a punt formation." Hochuli. A useful explanation.

    ReplyDelete
  13. My goodness Aaron Curry popped Marcus McNeill.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Keith, I don't. I'll be around most of the weekend.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Govt. business is closed tomorrow, right?

    ReplyDelete
  16. My computer keeps giving me the middle finger. Bleh.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Hey! Only Chargers & Raidahs fans are supposed to fight, not the players.

    ReplyDelete
  18. 21-13 VaTech leading the Jackets at the half.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I don't think I've been this excited for a regular season hockey game in a while, but I am for the Sharks-Wild game in an hour.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Mayock: "Mike Mitchell gave me the finger to say 'Come here, pal. I want to talk to you.' He didn't like what I had to say when he was drafted."
Nessler: "I'm glad he said 'He wanted to talk to you.' Didn't know which finger he gave."

    ReplyDelete
  21. I'm glad I picked the Raiders in my pick em' group.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Why did I expect more out of the Chargers tonight? Was their offensive output on Sunday only because of the leaky Packers D?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Why did I start Rivers again? He's killing me.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Here comes that ever-efficient Phillip Rivers 2:00 Drill again.....

    ReplyDelete
  25. 17-3 Raidahs at the half. Charger fans are pissed, and rightly so.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Now this is actually a good ACC game.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Why are you going for 2 VERY early in the 3rd quarter, Georgia Tech???? 21-19 VaTech.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Palmer: "This game has the feel of a playoff game." Are you just trolling Wetzel & Brando, or was that just hyperbole? #StillAGreatGame

  29. I had no idea Beamer has the most wins among active coaches now that JoePa is gone.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Beamer's been in Blackburg forever. Hell, even Bud Foster has been a coach there since 1987.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I'm surprised Foster hasn't been a head coach somewhere else by now.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Another OL injury for the Chargers. Goodness.

    ReplyDelete
  33. At least the Chargers are showing signs of life on this opening drive of the 2nd half.

    ReplyDelete
  34. WHAT A TD CATCH BY VINCENT BROWN! FOUGHT TWO DEFENDERS!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Why does three games I want to watch all have to happen right now?????

    ReplyDelete
  36. A screen to Michael Bush for a 55 yard gain!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Another touchdown for Denarius Moore! What an answer!

    ReplyDelete
  38. "We are seeing the birth of a young wide receiver who is getting better with every snap." - Brad Nessler

That he was not talking about DHB must sadden Kris immensely.

    ReplyDelete
  39. VaTech is back on top in Atlanta after a Logan Thomas TD sneak. 27-26 VaTech as they miss a 2-pont conversion.

    ReplyDelete
  40. The thing I'm noticing about the abundance of Twitter love of Mike Mayock: I guess no one's watching Notre Dame football...

    ReplyDelete
  41. I always liked Pat Hayden despite being a USC grad.

    ReplyDelete
  42. My school is hosting the Division II Field Hockey Final Four and National Championship game this Friday and Sunday, respectively. The games are being streamed on NCAA.com and yes, we are playing in it as well. That the stadium about a quarter of a mile from my apartment should make the scenes outside my apartment very fun to say the least.

Too bad I'll be in class when we play on Friday and the Eagles are on the same time as the national championship game. I might have attended my first ever field hockey game. Provided of course I took time to learn the rules.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Agreed on Pat Haden, Keith. He decided to go and clean up what I used to call a "Chernobyl" of a program. It's merely a "Three Mile Island" (#SimpsonsReference) compared to recent events.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Carson Palmer has a perfect QB Rating so far??? #StillEarly

    ReplyDelete
  45. That is about as obvious an empty hand as you are going to see.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Chargers needed that for a flicker of hope in this game.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Raidahs gonna challenge the call of a fumble. Dumb.

    ReplyDelete
  48. As soon as the game starts, Douglas Murray sends Seto right into the boards. Welcome back Seto!

    ReplyDelete
  49. 34-26 VaTech after a Logan Thomas TD pass, 9:49 left in Atlanta.

    ReplyDelete
  50. MAN THIS VINCENT BROWN CAN MAKE CIRCUS CATCHES! TOUCHDOWN CHARGERS! #Gruden'd

    ReplyDelete
  51. The Raiders are desperate, Justin.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Phillip Rivers is taking some hits thanks to this thin O-Line.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Heatley with a penalty. He sent Boyle flying.

    ReplyDelete
  54. That is one rule that before tonight I did not know existed.

    ReplyDelete
  55. TOUCHDOWN SAN DIEGO! PYROTECHNICS!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SsPNt6uBxBE&feature=player_embedded

    ReplyDelete
  56. There was no way Carson Palmer could get close to a perfect QB Rating without throwing a pick.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Ryan Mathews is so lucky Oakland was offsides, otherwise that's a safety. #CaptainObvious

    ReplyDelete
  58. Hahahaha @ Lito Sheppard. Dropped the easiest INT of his career.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Virginia Tech will then most likely play Clemson in the ACC championship game.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Sigh. An Oakland hold before the punt gives San Diego a FD.

    ReplyDelete
  61. These are the Raiders I remembered.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Excellent effort at that ball, Vincent Jackson....

    ReplyDelete
  63. Nessler: "Rich (Eisen) doing his Darth Vader impression." Hahahaha.

    ReplyDelete
  64. What an absolute grease fire Rivers has been this year....

    ReplyDelete
  65. The Chargers O-Line is turrible.
