Must List: Week 12

There's only two weeks of regular season college football left in the year. Hard to believe, but it's true. Sadly one of the last remaining weeks is a complete dud. This weeks slate of games are just horrendous. This might be the first week in a long time that I might not sit on the couch all day and watch college football. There are though games you should at least check out. Here's this week's Must List.

Saturday November, 19th
Nebraska at Michigan, Noon (ESPN: Dave Pasch, Chris Spielman, Urban Meyer, Quint Kessenich): Yep this should be one of the better games of the week. Both teams have fun offenses to watch. The question will be which defense can make just one stop. Sorry but I have to go with Nebraska in this game, even though it's in Michigan.

Mississippi State at Arkansas, 3:30 (CBS: Verne Lundquist, Gary Danielson, Tracy Wolfson): Just Arkansas' luck, they play in the SEC West. If the Razorbacks played in the SEC East, they would run away with that conference. Arkansas could beat LSU next week and finish in a three-way tie with LSU and Alabama in the SEC East and still not get a chance to play in the SEC conference championship game.

Penn State at Ohio State, 3:30 (ABC: Brad Nessler, Todd Blackledge, Holly Rowe): This game fascinates me because of all the trouble these two schools have gotten into. They're like kindred spirits at the moment. Don't expect much (or any) offense in this game.

USC at Oregon, 8:00 (ABC: Brent Musburger, Kirk Herbstreit): I would like to think USC could pull the upset here, but it ain't happening. USC gave up 50 points to Stanford. What's going to happen when Oregon turns on their superboosters against this defense? Also this game will be played in Eugene. That crowd will be insane for this game.

Oklahoma at Baylor, 8:00 (ABC: Joe Tessitore, Matt Millen, Erin Andrews): This is a game to keep an eye on. Both teams have fun offenses to watch. One problem though is fans out west won't be able to watch this game which is too bad because I really want to see RG3.

Kansas State at Texas, 8:00 (FX: Gus Johnson, Charles Davis, Tim Brewster): Last week Texas scored a grand total of 5 points. Hopefully for the Gus Johnson factor the Longhorns score a little more than that. K-State will certainly put some points on the board which will certainly get Gus fired up.

Cal at Stanford, 10:15 (ESPN: Carter Blackburn, Brock Huard, Shelley Smith): Cal is so inconsistent this year that I have no idea what they're going to do in this game. I would like to think they're going to upset furd, but I doubt it's going to happen. I can dream can't it?

Recipe of the Week, Cranberry-Pumpkin Cookies: Another leftover recipe from the incredible James Craven. Use that leftover cranberry sauce and pumpkin filling to make cookies. Be sure to only eat these cookies after your meal and with a glass of milk.

Alcoholic Beverage of the Week, Irish Coffee: The weather has turned. It's cold, the sun goes down as soon as it rises. The only type of drink to warm up that chill on your body is an Irish Coffee. I take my Irish Coffee with a little bit whipped cream. I'd like to see Starbucks sell Irish Coffee.

  1. Penn State vs. Ohio State: Showers vs. Tattoos

If I were at all clever, I'd find some way to link the two MXC-style, but alas, I do not have that ability.

  2. Also, if you do not want to wait until 3:30 ET to watch Penn State lose, instead of sitting through a Michigan game, you can watch Penn State basketball get its ass kicked by Kentucky on espn3.com!
