I remember that live blog! Good times.
ReplyDeleteWho is Kanoa Leahy?
ReplyDeleteOkay I think I have fixed my computer problems.
ReplyDeleteAwful Announcing's Matt Yoder presents the 13 stupidest plays in NFL History. You can thank me later.
ReplyDeletehttp://bloguin.com/thisgivensunday/2011-articles/november/the-13-stupidest-plays-in-nfl-history.html
Since I might not be around when the Marathon starts, I'm watching the local teams now:
ReplyDeleteDetroit Mercy leading Notre Dame 31-28 at the half; #17 Michigan leads Towson 52-30 at the under 8:00 timeout in the 2nd half.
I gotta admit. I'm not watching MNF, but actually Studio 60 with Costas.
ReplyDelete#17 Michigan beats Towson 64-47. I don't like their chances in Maui next week: too many cold shooting stretches. #6thPlace
ReplyDeleteSo, uh, the Packers are pretty good, huh.
ReplyDeleteAt age 49, Jerry Sandusky's lawyer got a 17 year old pregnant. That is like my uncle, who got caught stealing over $500,000 getting a lawyer who lost his license for awhile because he too embezzled funds. Either that or it was alcoholism, I forget which. But I find remembering it as the first to be more funny.
ReplyDeleteThat whole Sandusky interview made me go and take a shower.
ReplyDelete...I'm glad I'm watching Detroit Mercy begin to fade against Notre Dame. #WillLookUpTheInterviewLater
ReplyDeleteClay Matthews just made Christian Ponder his bitch.
ReplyDelete@ Keith: If you have not done so already, you should follow @FakeTomRinaldi. Hilarious parody.
ReplyDeleteMike Tirico is holding up a share of Green Bay Packers stock from the 1950s. #BlowoutTimeFiller
ReplyDelete@ RJBO: Sandusky did himself absolutely 0 favors with this interview.
ReplyDeleteI saw it on Deadspin, Justin. The only thing missing from the Roger Clemens defense playbook he used was the word "misremembered."
ReplyDeleteI don't feel so bad now for not watching that game.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteND beats Detroit Mercy, 59-53. The Titans might be favored to win the Horizon League (them or Butler), but they won't win anything being a 30 minute team reliant on 3s falling.
ReplyDeleteCan we just fire up the basketball already?
ReplyDeleteThe Niners are having a good season, but they're not even in the same class as the Packers.
ReplyDeleteI just want the Lions to stay within 3 TDs against the Pack on Thanksgiving. #LoweredExpectations
ReplyDeleteAt least with this game ending now, we can see what kind of blouse Doris is wearing. #NotCreepyAtAll
ReplyDelete"There’s a storm in town and it’s category G." - CSN Philly Toyota Sports Nite brewing.
ReplyDelete#ShitBrandoProbablyWrote
No worries, Keith. That's less creepy than this statement I made from last years' edition of the Marathon Open Thread.
ReplyDeleteHaha RJBO. I forgot about that.
ReplyDeleteWatching Paul Hewitt as his George Mason team chokes this game away is like remembering old times.
ReplyDeleteMy first view of Digger and his matching tie and highlighter.
ReplyDeleteIs this Robert Sacre's 10th year of college?
ReplyDelete2 early 3s for the Zags' Pangos.
ReplyDeleteI was just about to say Kris, Robert Sacre has been at Gonzaga forever.
ReplyDeleteWazzu makes a basket!
ReplyDelete14-8 Zags at the under 12:00 timeout of the 1st half. #FlipsToFresnoState-Stanford
ReplyDeleteI still can't believe ESPN could pay enough money for schools to play at 11PM.
ReplyDelete4th 3-pointer of the night for Pangos. My goodness.
ReplyDeletePangos is on fire with 4 early triples.
ReplyDelete@Keith I can't believe ESPN found teams who would want to play at 6 am ET
ReplyDeleteGood point Kris.
ReplyDeleteForgot BYU is in the West Coast Conference for basketball. #ConferenceMusicalChairs
ReplyDeleteWHAT A JAM BY MOTUM!
ReplyDeleteSo what round does Gonzaga lose in this year?
ReplyDeleteKeith, they won't make it past the 1st weekend (2nd or 3rd Round).
ReplyDeleteTypical Gonzaga then. All flash, no substance.
ReplyDeleteTo be fair, it's very, very early, and they could evolve. Especially if Pangos can give them half the shooting he's shown just in the 1st half.
ReplyDeleteWoof John Stockton's wife. What trailer did she just crawl out from.
ReplyDeleteHahaha
ReplyDeleteEnjoy college basketball. I have work to get to.
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna step out at 1AM. I'll be up at 6 to hear just how much of a smarmy trainwreck Doug Gottlieb will be doing PbP.
ReplyDeleteZags hit a million threes (#Exaggeration) and only have a 41-32 lead over Wazzu at the break.
ReplyDeleteI think I'm going to lay in bed and watch the rest of these games. I'll be up for morning Raftery.
ReplyDeleteStanford finally has enough of a cushion against Fresno State. I'm gonna get some shuteye.
ReplyDeleteI may be able to finagle a long enough lunch to catch some of the midday action.
Goodnight, fellas.
Zags pouring it on Wazzu
ReplyDeleteSo, the NCAA adopted the Flagrant 1 & 2 and junked the intentional foul rule? I guess I'm okay with that.
ReplyDelete11=2 WSU run has them only down 7 with 3:45 to play
ReplyDeleteLacey! 4 point game
ReplyDeleteWazzu has missed a lot of layups in the last couple of minutes.
ReplyDeleteWazzu's comeback is going to come up just a little short.
ReplyDeleteGonzaga wins 89-81.
ReplyDeleteIf Sacre has 10 years at Gonzaga, Dellavedova must have been in Moraga for at least 6.
ReplyDeleteDamn. Who's the one that just woke up: me or Doug Gottlieb? It's like he's doing PbP on a 3-second delay.
ReplyDeleteRider on a 9-0 run. Timeout Drexel, trailing the Broncs 25-18, 5:01 left in the 1st half.
ReplyDeleteFan sign: "I have Bronc-itis." #It'sEarly
ReplyDeleteDrexel ends the 1st half on a 10-2 run. Dragons & Broncs tied at 28 at the half.
ReplyDeleteGeez. Doug Gottlieb can't even give a fake Starbucks order without tripping over his own words.
ReplyDeleteSacramento King (and former Rider star) Jason Thompson in attendance in Lawrenceville.
ReplyDelete38-35 Drexel at the under 16:00 timeout. And I'm out until later on today...hopefully for some of Belmont-Memphis.
ReplyDeleteI'm half convinced my school has a bigger gym than Rider. Geez.
ReplyDeleteI don't think Raftery has drank his coffee yet. #It'sEarly
ReplyDeleteNothing like early mornings with Sean McDonough and Bill Raftery.
ReplyDeleteI am fairly confident all of Tim Brando's tweets these days are just RTs of his daughter telling her followers to listen her dad's show.
ReplyDeleteI still can't believe you follow Brando, but don't listen to his radio show.
ReplyDeleteMake that daughters.
ReplyDeleteI just follow Brando for the lulz.
ReplyDeleteYou have problems Justin.
ReplyDeleteWow. Kent State beat West Virginia.
ReplyDeleteBeen a brick laying contest so far in Waco.
ReplyDeleteToo many fouls being called in this SDSU/Baylor. There's no flow at all.
ReplyDeleteBreen to JVG: "This is your reward for all of the classes you cut over the years."
ReplyDeleteDick Stockton and John Lynch are calling the Panthers-Lions game this Sunday. My dearest sympathies to RJBO.
ReplyDelete@ Keith: And I would highly advise you to be near a radio on Sunday. T-hom and Billick are doing the Cardinals-49ers.
ReplyDeleteBreen: "Are you going to be harder on the college refs than the NBA refs?"
ReplyDeleteJVG: "I'm not hard on any refs."
Breen: "You're such a sweetheart."
Breen and JVG have great chemistry. I hope they call more college games.
ReplyDelete@Keith They're doing the NIT games next week.
ReplyDeleteIt's official. The Sports By Brooks guy has lost his mind. Not sure if you follow him, but if you do, just remember that while he is on his moral crusade against Penn State, that this appeared on his site couple years ago.
ReplyDeletehttp://sportsbybrooks.com/17-year-old-simona-halep-is-shot-jaw-dropper-23512
And I'm out until later on today...hopefully for some of Belmont-Memphis.
ReplyDelete...or some of the lead-in to Sparty folding so Coach K can pass Bobby Knight. Thanks, overtime. #FML
I'm ignoring the Duke circle jerk and watching La Salle-Villanova on ESPN3.
ReplyDelete"Villanova is a big, strong, big team." - Derek Whittenberg
ReplyDeleteSo I have no reason to watch CBS News tonight.
ReplyDeleteThe start of this game has been B1G approved.
ReplyDelete@ Keith: Unless you want to watch CBS make a mockery of journalism, no, you don't.
ReplyDelete"It's not a pretty game so far, Derek." - Scott Graham
ReplyDelete"It's a carbon copy of last year's game." - Derek Whittenberg without elaborating.
9-6 Duke after 3.5 minutes in MSG./ 6-6 after 7.75 minutes in Villanova.
ReplyDelete/B1G approved basketball
Awful Announcing clocked the McQueary interview at 23 seconds.
ReplyDeleteESPN's graphics now say when a team is in the bonus. Nice.
ReplyDeleteHow many wins have Bobby Knight and Coach K combined for? I hadn't heard.... #Sarcasm
ReplyDeleteHow great would it be if Sparty won this game.
ReplyDeleteI'm convinced Derek Whittenberg has absolutely no idea what he is talking about.
ReplyDeleteVillanova has 12 turnovers thus far. They are being given everything on the inside and are settling for jumpers instead. This is pathetic.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, Keith, I just want Duke to win (stay with me for a moment) just so the record chase doesn't stretch on any longer.
ReplyDeleteSure that's what you want RJBO...........
ReplyDeleteYou make it seem like I actively root against Sparty---
ReplyDelete"Clearly the crowd here did not like the call." - Scott Graham as audible "BULLSHIT!" chants were hurled at the official.
ReplyDeleteSpike Lee is everywhere. In the Garden, at MetLife Stadium Sunday...
ReplyDeleteNot that the crowd is wrong, mind you. Even Graham and Whittenberg are having some choice words for this officiating performance.
ReplyDeleteLa Salle leads by 9.
ReplyDeleteOn one hand, La Salle is better than Monmouth. On the other hand, some D2 schools are probably better than Monmouth.
No one on La Salle can handle Yarou. Why he is not seeing the ball more is beyond me.
ReplyDelete31-26 La Salle at halftime.
ReplyDeleteAndre Dawkins with a nice shooting half for Duke. Someone has to.
ReplyDeleteSparty getting right to the basket versus the Duke frontline.
ReplyDeleteBob Knight: "(Draymond Green) could finish in the lane if a grizzly bear were in there."
Mike Patrick: "If Oklahoma wins Bedlam (versus Okie State), we may have a rematch (of LSU-Alabama)."
ReplyDeleteLen Elmore: "Do you promise there will be more points?"
I'm all for Coach K getting the record against Davidson.
ReplyDeleteI just saw the CBS/Mcquerrey "interview". Dan Rather and the Killian documents can't believe that piece ran.
ReplyDeleteKnight: "Hubert (Davis, on his way to Puerto Rico for a tournament) would probably make a mistake if he said he was a friend of mine." I laughed.
ReplyDeleteDukies lead Sparty 34-33 at the half.
ReplyDeleteHow did Dickie V not get this game?
Villanova lead early in the 2nd half. This is more like it.
ReplyDeleteErik Murphy nailing some shots early versus AnOSU.
ReplyDeleteThe Yankees want CJ Wilson? The Steinbrenners would be better off flushing that money down the toilet.
ReplyDeleteJust my opinion, but Austin Rivers will end up killing this Duke team. They're going to play so much better when he isn't in the game.
ReplyDeleteSo Austin Rivers is this year's Irving?
ReplyDelete"I like to see cheeks get more involved on the opposite end." - Derek Whittenberg
ReplyDeleteIt's Cheek, not Cheeks. Also, that sounds dirty.
Andre Dawkins with his best Kevin Pangos impersonation.
ReplyDeleteThree free throws for Cheek! He'll go to the line after the under 8 timeout. 47 all in The Pavilion.
ReplyDelete@Keith I think Irving is a better player. Duke would've repeated had he been healthy all last year.
ReplyDeleteNice to know that with all the cameras and attention paid to Coach K today, no one has told him about the same piece of lint that's been in his hair since pregame. #AproposOfNothing
ReplyDeleteDukies starting to pull away from Sparty. MSU doesn't have the offense to compete at this rate.
ReplyDeleteThis game is like the UNC game for Sparty. They don't have the offense to hang with these teams.
ReplyDelete22 points for Andre Dawkins. Timeout Sparty.
ReplyDeleteLa Salle 55-50 with 4:15 left. 8-0 La Salle run. Bleh.
ReplyDeleteA T on a Dukie? #Unpossible
ReplyDeleteAndre Dawkins was yapping earlier and Karl Hess talked to both teams about the smack talk.
Why is this La Salle-Villanova game close? This is not the B1G Network!
ReplyDeleteKarl Hess is practically the 6th Blue Devil on the floor.
ReplyDelete#suckyACCrefs
Villanova is in the double bonus. La Salle not even in the bonus yet.
ReplyDeleteVillanova is in the double bonus. La Salle not even in the bonus yet.
ReplyDelete/liking having "Bonus" on the graphic
At least Tom Rinaldi isn't doing sidelines at the Garden. He'd ask Grant Hill about his take on Penn State.
ReplyDeleteWAYNS!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteDuke already shooting FTs with 10:23 left in the game. #GameOver
ReplyDeleteDerek Whittenberg is channeling his inner Pierre McGuire, choosing to scream his analysis for no apparent reason.
ReplyDeleteSTEAL! HILLIARD! TIE GAME!!!!!
ReplyDeleteScott Graham is a very good announcer. Derek Whittenberg is not.
ReplyDelete"I don't know how you coach and keep your sanity." - Scott Graham
ReplyDelete"I don't!" - Derek Whittenberg
We noticed.
55.3 seconds left. This game is on ESPN3.com, if you are interested in a close basketball game.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteNO GOOD! VILLANOVA BALL SHOT CLOCK TURNED OFF!
ReplyDeleteOut of bounds to La Salle with .7 left!
ReplyDeleteThe glass unkind. Overtime in Villanova.
ReplyDeleteScott Graham is a very good announcer. Derek Whittenberg is not.
ReplyDeleteThere's a reason Whittenberg is normally condemned to ESPN3 broadcasts or NEC Friday Night games on the U.
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteWas Coach Knight drinking a beer not knowing he's on camera? #TwitterRumors
ReplyDeleteWhite with the follow ties it at 63 in overtime.
ReplyDeleteWhat? None of you want to join me in listening to Derek Whittenberg analyze basketball?
ReplyDelete/I don't blame you
WAYNS! With 1:18 left in overtime Villanova lead by 5! 68-63.
ReplyDeleteJustin, I just dialed it up. I can't take anymore of Coach K's victory lap.
ReplyDelete@ RJBO: I just saw a screencap of Bob Knight. Probably iced tea. Unfortunately. I do not notice any carbonation.
ReplyDeleteBad entry pass! Nova ball!
ReplyDelete1 minute left, and Villanova is beginning to pull away. 70-63 with 1 minute left.
ReplyDeleteVillanova get the ball back and will go back to the line. 44.6 seconds left. This is likely over.
ReplyDeleteJustin, This is the screencap you saw, and you're probably right about it being tea.
ReplyDelete"This guy knows the game like the back of his hand." - Derek Whittenberg
ReplyDeleteApparently Jon Gruden is taking to college basketball now. #Help
That really is quite the mustache on Dan Shulman.
ReplyDeleteHeld ball and it goes to LaSalle!
ReplyDeleteHeld ball to La Salle. 14.5 left. 5-point game. Ffs end this already.
ReplyDeleteVillanova win 76-69. Well that was a bit too close for comfort.
ReplyDeleteNever before have I looked to a Buckeyes game for entertainment. #FormerDukiesBeingInterviewed
ReplyDeleteI love the fact Coach K's wife refuses to go to games at Maryland.
ReplyDeleteAs ESPN scanned the crowd for Duke players: Shulman: "Spike Lee played for Duke?"
ReplyDeleteSparty almost made the last 45 seconds interesting.
ReplyDeleteSparty need a turnover. Or for Duke to miss some FTs.
ReplyDeleteHoly shit! 5 second call against Duke.
ReplyDelete5 second call! Sparty ball!
ReplyDeleteCrap.
ReplyDeleteThank Goodness that's over.
ReplyDeleteDamn. Iron unkind to Sparty. Duke win.
ReplyDeleteESPN2 is in MSG too? NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAwwwwwwwwwwwwww
ReplyDeleteSign: "Best Koach Ever." Geez.
ReplyDeleteBig East soccer on Root Sports Pittsburgh.
ReplyDelete/better than the Coach K circle jerk fest
Not the time to have mic fail, Rece.
ReplyDeleteNow Dave O'Brien and Dan Dakich are waxing poetic on Coach K. Make it stop.
ReplyDeleteI was hoping a re-rack of Intentional Talk was on MLB-N for a respite. #JustThatDesperate
ReplyDeleteOn the plus side, ESPN stayed away from the party font.
ReplyDelete/Brett Favre 500th touchdown'd
@RJBO: I'm ashamed to admit this, but I watched an old Who's #1 on ESPN Classic
ReplyDeleteHahaha. No shame in watching "Baseball's Best Pennant Races," Keith. #Yanks-Sawx1978Number1
ReplyDelete@TimBrando
ReplyDeleteA man of conviction, passion and loyalty. Congrats to Coach K! A greater human being than Coach. Inspiring to see that many impacted by him.
At least he isn't RTing one of his daughters this time.
I'm sure Brando thought the same thing of Paterno a couple of weeks ago.
ReplyDeleteDave O'Brien & Dan Dakich talking who'll manage the Sawx & Cubs. #BlowoutTimeFiller
ReplyDeleteBrad Beal cuts the Buckeyes lead to 74-66; 1:06 left. #Begging
ReplyDeleteThis is the interview with Mike McQueary that CBS built up as an "EXCLUSIVE interview. If you did not see it, I kid you not, this is the whole thing.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EMVFHcx-fZU
This is a new low for journalism.
"I think he is the best leader in all sports." - Dickie V
ReplyDelete/changes channel
This Ohio State-Florida game needs to end right now.
ReplyDeleteBuckeyes finally polish off the Gators, 81-74.
ReplyDeleteDick Solo with a huge dunk.
ReplyDeleteI would just like to point out, Austin Peay and Morehead State are in the same conference. #GladI'mHere
ReplyDeleteWait. A Tuesday MAC football game and no team is threatening 60 points? #KeepIt
ReplyDeleteKentucky early: 2 FGs, 4 turnovers, 1 unibrow (Anthony Davis). #AproposOfNothing
ReplyDelete2nd 3-pointer for Connor Teahan to spark an 8-1 KU run.
ReplyDeleteBak with a huge rejection.
ReplyDeleteIt's too early for Dickie V......
ReplyDeleteKentucky and Kansas tied at 28 in Champions Classic Game #2 at MSG.
ReplyDelete21 FGs, 22 turnovers combined.
Nice lob by Kidd-Gilchrist to the Brow for the opening basket of the 2nd half.
ReplyDeleteUnlike most the last pair of games on TV, at least this game is close.
ReplyDelete
