College Football Open Thread: Week 10
Big day. Bama vs. LSU kicks off at 8 PM and that's really the game everyone wants to see. There are also some other games worth keeping an eye on. I haven't been this excited for a college football Saturday since the first week of the season. Should be a tremendous day. So enjoy whatever game you're watching, leaving comments, and don't be a troll.

Can I just pretend Brian Wilson doesn't pitch for the Giants?
ReplyDelete"Backs vs. Cocks"-Brian Wilson
ReplyDeleteThat was great.
Lee just trolled Bama fans. Awesome.
ReplyDeleteI guess Hoke wants pneumonia. Why else would he not wear a jacket?
ReplyDeleteNice to see neither Michigan B1G school can tackle this afternoon. Geez.
ReplyDelete@RJBO: anOSU can't tackle either this morning.
ReplyDeleteI didn't even notice the Stanzi-inspired Hawkeye logo helmets. Heh.
ReplyDeleteNot smart, Iowa. Good field position after stopping Michigan (again) and they quick count on 4th and inches and come up short on the sneak.
ReplyDeleteLove it or leave it, RJBO.
ReplyDeleteBTW, are you going to be around tonight for the big game?
Since I'm cheering for Michigan, I must hate America.
ReplyDeleteI'll definitely be around, Keith.
Oh come on RJBO. Iowa ain't that bad. ALL. THAT. CORN.
ReplyDeleteTouchdown anOSU.
ReplyDeleteHaha. I was just talking about the Iowa helmets: http://yfrog.com/ntmqblpdj
ReplyDeleteI have no qualms against corn.
Early scoring or not, I'm not even gonna bother going to the BTN overflow channel for Indiana-AnOSU.
Touchdown Michigan! A pass that wasn't a force-job from Denard.....but the PAT is blown.
ReplyDeleteSoldier Field is impressed with the grass at the Florida-Vandy game.
ReplyDeleteWhat a catch by McKnight! Touchdown Gophers!
ReplyDelete14-7 Minnehaha. Props to Sparty for enacting the Wolverines "Must Comically Fade in November" strategy.
ReplyDeleteSparty is just following big brother's footsteps.
ReplyDeleteSparty is stopped by the Gophers on 4th and 9. Should've just tried to pin Minnesota deep.
ReplyDeleteIf anyone is up for a good laugh at Penn State today, check this out.

I am thoroughly saddened and disgusted.
Glen Mason sounds like a louder, worse version of Bob Griese in his later years. #NotGood
ReplyDeleteI saw that story break late last night. Even the AD knew. I would say JoePa knew, but I don't think he knows what he had for breakfast yesterday.
ReplyDeleteOhio State and Indiana tied at 10. That may be my only saving grace right now. #GoIndiana
ReplyDeleteThat is sickening what happened in State College.
ReplyDeleteDo the Hawkeyes have to have a hyphenated wide receiver every year? #Martin-Manley
ReplyDeleteInitial reports seem to clear JoePa of any wrong-doing, but still, not good for him, his reputation, or possibly his future with the program.
ReplyDeleteEasy touchdown pass for Iowa to the fullback. So much for the highly rated Wolverines Red Zone D. #MisleadingStats
ReplyDeleteLet's not talk about that Penn State story again today. I actually want to enjoy this day.
ReplyDeleteAgreed, Keith. I just wanted to acknowledge seeing the story.
ReplyDeleteSigh. Denard should've just taken the sack; instead he leaves the ball on the ground. Iowa ball.
ReplyDeleteDIE IN A FIRE DR. PEPPER COMMERCIAL!
ReplyDeleteAt least the Wolverines held the Hawkeyes to a FG. 17-6 Iowa.
ReplyDeleteWhat a catch by Hemingway! #DenardHighThrow
ReplyDeleteEnough of Devin Gardner's cameo appearances. Michigan lucky to recover that fumble. Give it to Denard, like on that 20 yard run.
ReplyDeleteGardner should never see the field again.
ReplyDeleteWell.......................
ReplyDeleteHard to believe. But Denard has actually regressed without Rich Rod.
ReplyDeleteI know the staff is trying to shoehorn Shoelace into a pro-style offense, and I'm guessing the coaches fear Gardner would transfer, but this is ridiculous. Denard is no longer running effectively and tentative throwing (when he was a shaky passer at best) and Gardner is out of sorts when he does come in for his play or two.
ReplyDelete17-6 Iowa at the half.
I think Minnesota is going to be just fine with Jerry Kill.
ReplyDeleteOn the lighter side of things, Ohio State and Indiana are tied at 13 at halftime.
ReplyDeleteMinnesota's kicking themselves for firing Glen Mason and hiring Tim Brewster. Mason had the Gophers at a 8-9 win plateau every year with some NFL talent. I think that's the best they could ever be, improvements to facilities or not.
ReplyDeleteTouchdown M-S-U
BRAXTON MILLER IS INTERCEPTED!
ReplyDeleteBraxton Miller is playing LIKE A BAUS! #EDSBSMeme
ReplyDeleteMike Hall on the BTN: "Today, we spotlight MSU's Zeke the Wonder Dog." Sorry, that's a worse halftime show than the Bucket Boys.
ReplyDeleteShoelace almost thew another INT there.
ReplyDeleteDenard is lucky, lucky, lucky on that 3rd and 9 blitz. Fluttered into Vinson Smith's hands.
ReplyDeleteMICHIGAN MADE A FG! #HadTo
ReplyDeleteTouchdown anOSU.
ReplyDeleteThe Sooners loss to Texas Tech looks worse and worse and worse. 31-6 Longhorns at the half? Early this season, it would've taken Texas 3 games to get 31 points.
ReplyDelete"Nick Swisher Field at Bill Davis Stadium," Ohio State? Bleh.
ReplyDeleteI wonder when that other college in Columbus will name their field after Jonathon Sanchez?
ReplyDeleteStill better than Mark Light Field at Alex Rodriguez Park, Justin. #HurricanesBaseball
ReplyDeleteTOUCHDOWN INDIANA! Oh it's an exciting one on the B1G Network!
ReplyDeleteDenard Robinson is more brittle than Tate Forcier. #Science
ReplyDeleteRobinson is more brittle than that one white running back. #IStillCan'tRememberHisName
ReplyDelete#SamMcGuffie #Rice
ReplyDeleteOrioles to hire Dan Duquette as GM, per Tim Kurkjian. Did Kevin Malone say no? #"NewSheriffInTown"
ReplyDeleteOrioles to hire Dan Duquette as GM
ReplyDeleteHave we checked on Kris yet? This can't be good for his health.
Too bad Michigan doesn't have two Blake Countess-caliber corners out there, true freshman or not.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to get something to eat. I'll be back for the 12:30 games.
ReplyDeleteYou won't miss anything. Iowa is suffocating Michigan with this long drive; Minnesota should fold late; the other games on are less watchable than these two.
ReplyDeleteDecent TD drive for the Wolverines (Denard to Koger). Might be too little, too late. 24-16 Hawkeyes.
ReplyDeleteYou might want to either cover McNutt or bench JT Floyd, Michigan....
ReplyDeleteCoker is stuffed! 4th & 1 upcoming! Wolverines need this stop.
ReplyDeleteMichigan just #JuquaParker'd on 4th down. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteAND THEY CALLED A FALSE START! HAHA!
Braxton Miller hurt.
ReplyDeleteGood 20 yard completion to Hemingway to get out of their end zone.
ReplyDeleteMichigan has to punt. 4th and 8. Your own end. Only 2 timeouts. Punt and hope.....
ReplyDeleteI can't watch anymore of this. I'm watching Minny-Sparty and chalking up the Michigan game as a loss.
ReplyDeleteTouchdown M-S-U. Le'Veon Bell
ReplyDeleteMatt Devlin: "All he needed was a couple of inches." #Favre'd
Caught! 1st down Roberson to Hughes! #BTNOverflowChannel
ReplyDeleteThere's now way Indiana can actually win this game....right? #GoHoosiers
ReplyDeletePicked off! On cue.....
ReplyDeleteTravis Howard with the interception with 4:07 left. Indiana in trouble now.
ReplyDeleteSMITH?!?!?!? TOUCHDOWN MICHIGAN!!!!! WHAT HAPPENED?!?
ReplyDeleteWHAT WHAT WHAT? MICHIGAN TOUCHDOWN? HOW?
ReplyDeleteHere comes a review
Smith was down. this should get overturned.
ReplyDeleteThis one's coming back....
ReplyDeleteDENARD OVERTHREW ROUNDTREE! GEEZ! THAT WAS A TD!
ReplyDeleteDenard to Odoms to the Michigan 41. Out of bounds.
ReplyDeleteDenard to Rountree to the Iowa 45. Clock running.
ReplyDeleteDenard to Gallon to the Iowa 32. Out of bounds.
ReplyDeleteTimeout Iowa with :38 left so Micah Hyde can possibly come back into the game after being shaken up.
ReplyDeleteDefensive holding on Iowa!
ReplyDeleteROUNDTREE TO THE 2! CLOCK RUNNING
ReplyDeleteMichigan uses their last timeout with :16 left.
ReplyDeleteAnd my school is losing 31-7 to Kutztown heading into the 4th quarter. This could spell the end of our playoff hopes. Fuck.
ReplyDeleteRobinson the overthrow. 2nd and goal. 12 seconds left.
ReplyDeleteIncomplete pass with 12 seconds left.
ReplyDeleteOH INCOMPLETE! HE WAS OUT OF BOUNDS
ReplyDeleteTHEY SAY INCOMPLETE! OUT OF BOUNDS! 7 SECONDS LEFT!
ReplyDeleteKnee was down, but the ball wasn't completely secured by Hemingway.
ReplyDeleteI don't think that's a touchdown. Ball looks like it is moving.
ReplyDeleteCall stands
ReplyDeleteDROPPED! 2 SECONDS LEFT!
ReplyDeleteDenard scrambles, has a man, INCOMPLETE! TWO SECONDS LEFT! 4TH AND GOAL!
ReplyDeleteB1G football. It does not get any better than this, folks.
I thought Denard was a dead duck in the backfield.
ReplyDeleteINCOMPLETE! NO FLAG! IOWA WINS!
ReplyDeleteIOWA WINS! Crap. #PoursOutOneForScott
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, Minnesota has 2:22 and 90 yards to a tying TD in East Lansing. #NoShot
ReplyDeleteI've seen pass interference called on lesser infractions.
ReplyDeleteI'm not gonna crow about the call.
ReplyDeleteChannel 7 here has a barnburner between Ball State-EMU (as in a barn burning would be better viewing).
Ball State's QB's name is "Wenning?" #InsertCharlieSheenJoke

ReplyDeleteSweet, I've got Minnesota-Sparty bonus coverage on the B1G Network.
ReplyDeleteThe Michael Reghi Game Of the Week always is within 3 points with the last drive deciding it.
ReplyDelete1st down Ball State! 13 seconds left to the EMU 27 after the spike.
1ST DOWN MINNESOTA ON THIRD AND A MILE! SPIKED AT THE 45 WITH 21 SECONDS LEFT! 55 YARDS TO GLORY!
ReplyDelete1st down Gray inside Sparty territory.
ReplyDeleteCalling back-to-back timeouts to ice the kicker in college should be a penalty like in the NFL. #BallState-EMU
ReplyDeleteSchott hits the 44 yard FG! Ball State leads 33-31 in Ypsilanti. #Click
ReplyDeleteINTERCEPTED! SPARTY WIN!
ReplyDeleteThat was a very Denard like pick by Gray.
ReplyDeleteLooking at the 3:30 games (aside from aTm-Sooners)....I need to buy some groceries. #BackAt5
ReplyDeleteI will be right pick. I have to run a few errands. My school is losing 45-14 in the 4th quarter, likely out of the playoffs now. I feel safe leaving.
ReplyDelete14-3 Northwestern leads Nebraska in more Legends Division action on the B1G Network.
ReplyDeleteWTF Nebraska?
ReplyDeleteWow, Nebraska. Way to completely not tackle the quarterback.
ReplyDeleteNorthwestern still lead by 4 heading into the 4th quarter on the B1G Network. Northwestern attempting a field goal, and it's no good!
ReplyDeleteTOUCHDOWN!!!! NORTHWESTERN! 12:16 LEFT IN THE GAME!!! AN UPSET IS BREWING ON THE B1G NETWORK!
ReplyDeleteNebraska is driving now, at the Northwestern 16.
ReplyDeleteCotton with the catch at the two, reaches for the goal line as he is brought down, HE GOT IT! TOUCHDOWN NEBRASKA!
ReplyDeleteBut on replay the knee is down before the ball crosses the goal line. This is being reviewed and it should be overturned.
Hopefully RJBO is watching this....
/thriller on B1G Network with Eric Collins'd
3rd and goal Nebraska at the 1.
ReplyDeleteUp the middle TOUCHDOWN NEBRASKA!
ReplyDeleteNebraska going for 2, Martinez on the option, dives for the endzone, HE GOT IT!
ReplyDelete2nd and goal Northwestern at the 1. 2:35 to go. Nebraska does have 3 timeouts.
ReplyDeleteThere is no one at the Cal game. This entire year has been a disaster for Cal. The AT&T Park idea was a disaster from the start.
ReplyDeleteColter on the keeper, no signal yet, it looks like he is in, TOUCHDOWN NORTHWESTERN! 1:34 AWAY FROM THE UPSET! THEY ARE UP TWO SCORES!
ReplyDeleteHaha Corn
ReplyDeleteTOUCHDOWN NEBRASKA WITH 18 SECONDS LEFT!
ReplyDeleteNow they need the onside kick. Anything can happen on the B1G Network.
Nebraska has to burn a timeout before the onside kick??? HAHAHAHAHAHA!
ReplyDeleteNorthwestern recovers the onside kick! They will upset the Cornhuskers!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the B1G, Nebraska.
Flyers game starting now with the Game Of The Century starting in an hour.
ReplyDelete2-0 Flyers already.
ReplyDelete"I always liked that name." - Steve Coates
ReplyDeleteThanks for that, Coatesy.
When I said "Back at 5," I didn't think I meant 5 PDT.
ReplyDeleteLong story short, one of my nephews snookered me into dropping him off at the maaaaaaaaaaaaalllllllllllll (#KanyeWest'd) by saying 'he was stranded.' #I'mAGullibleFoolOfAnUncle
No more B1G football today. Do you know how depressing this is for myself and RJBO?
ReplyDeleteIs this the spot for LSU-Bama? I thought there might've been a CiL for it, or is that only reserved for a "Celebrity Fight Night" Live-Blog?
ReplyDelete@Justin: I heard a good chunk of the N'Western game in the car. #WGN'sSignalIsStrongAtNight
Geez. RichRod on Houston-UAB? #Click
ReplyDelete@ RJBO: All you missed was Nebraska run into the juggernaut that is Northwestern without Dan Persa and Wisconsin doing unspeakable things to Purdue.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteArkansas lead South Carolina 3-0 already.
ReplyDeleteWait. "Celebrity Fight Night" is $30 in HD? I wouldn't pay $10 to watch Octomom-Amy Fisher nor Jose Canseco-Lenny Dykstra....
ReplyDelete#13 Houston & UAB tied at 7 after 1 Quarter.
ReplyDeleteA quick aside: If LSU-Bama is close, I better not hear the narrative become "They should meet in the MNC game," especially if Gary Danielson decides to spew this in the afterglow. That blowhard was the loudest mouthpiece against a Michigan-AnO$U rematch in 2006....although he was right.
ReplyDeleteVirginia 31, Maryland 13.
ReplyDeletePoor poor Kris.
At least the O's will hire "integral piece of forming the 2004 World Series team" GM Dan Duquette.... #ForgotWhichBoobSaidThat #NoRelief
ReplyDeleteFlyers lead 5-0. With less than 1 minute to play in the first period.
ReplyDelete/at least anOSU won
Ryan Broyles out for the season (Torn ACL), per ESPN's BottomLine. Ouch.
ReplyDeleteSouth Carolina 7-3.
ReplyDeleteOkay. I'm fed and going to hunker down for the night.
ReplyDeleteDENNIS JOHNSON ON THE KICK RETURN! TOUCHDOWN ARKANSAS!
ReplyDeleteKICKOFF RETURN BY DENNIS JOHNSON! TOUCHDOWN HOGS! #LSU-BamaAboutToKick #Click
ReplyDeleteKevin Frazier: "Shock therapy induces seizures (to combat depression). If I get that depressed, slap me."
ReplyDeleteGood job, WWJ-TV. I want those 10 seconds back for even seeing that much of "The Insider Weekend." #DumberForIt
Oh goody. Todd Blackledge stuffing himself again.
ReplyDeleteI've always liked the Blackledge food segment. #I'mLame
ReplyDeleteBrando!
ReplyDeleteI heard an interview with Uncle Verne on 670 the Score yesterday. He said CBS gave up "the 1st pick of SEC games, this rematch in Baton Rouge being at night on ESPN and CBS can't show Michigan-Alabama next year" to get LSU-Bama this year. Hope it's worth it. Of course, had they not chose 'Bama-Florida in prime time.....
ReplyDeleteYou should seriously watch his radio show on CBS College Sports, Justin.
ReplyDelete#Bama27-24InOT
ReplyDelete"Barkevious Mingo?" WTF kind of name is that?
ReplyDeleteFor what CBS gave up for this game, I hope it's worth it for them.
ReplyDeleteWhen Le-sh is shouting, he doesn't -sh a-sh mu-sch.
ReplyDeleteYahooForde Pat Forde
ReplyDeleteDamn, The Hat bit it running on field. Not sure what happened, but looked over and saw him -- Hatless -- getting up off turf.
LULZ
Ugh. I can't believe I'm rooting for Saban. Not so much rooting, but that's who I think will win, with Trent Richardson being the difference.
ReplyDeleteTyler Wilson got Pick-6'd by the Cocks. 14-10 South Carolina.
ReplyDeleteWolfson: "You've always shown some trickery. Do you have something under that hat tonight?"
ReplyDeleteUnderway in Tuscaloosa!
ReplyDeleteUnderway in Tuscaloosa!
ReplyDeleteThe crowd is insane tonight
ReplyDeleteGood run by Trent Richardson to open the proceedings.
ReplyDeleteYou might want to cover Richardson...fumble or not.
ReplyDeleteTrent Richardson! Gary Danielson is going to have a bout with priapism by the end of this one.
ReplyDeleteNice stop by LSU to hold Bama to a FG try.
ReplyDeleteGood blocking. Better coverage.
ReplyDeleteHahaha Justin
ReplyDeleteWow, this really better be worth it for them.
ReplyDeleteNot. even. close.
ReplyDeleteWIDE RIGHT!
ReplyDelete1st down to Odelle Beckham.
ReplyDeleteI like Oklahoma State, but what on earth are they wearing tonight?
ReplyDeleteLSU is actually moving the ball on this defense.
ReplyDeleteSouth Carolina-Arkansas is a real barnburner. #Should'veBeenOn3:30OnCBS
ReplyDeleteJordan Jefferson punches that across the line to gain for the 1st. #HadTo
ReplyDeleteBob Kraft has to be at every sporting event CBS has, right?
ReplyDeleteEven if the Pats aren't playing on CBS this week.
ReplyDeleteSEC Football: perfect time for girl-on-girl action.
ReplyDeletehttp://img.ly/a9Ba
MAZE! Plus a horse collar flag
ReplyDeleteThere's some hitting goin' on out there.
ReplyDelete"I call them dirty runs."-Danielson.
ReplyDeleteMight want to change your pants then.
Good run by backup RB Lacy.
ReplyDeleteMaaaaaaybe you went to the well two too many times running Lacy.
ReplyDeleteNot even close.
ReplyDeleteOh Lee........
ReplyDeleteDerp
ReplyDelete1st INT in Jarrett Lee's last 150 passes.
ReplyDeleteNice catch by Hanks!
Knocked away by Morris Claiborne in the end zone to end the 1st Quarter!
ReplyDeleteDanielson: "There are 10 DBs in this game that will play in the NFL." Ah geez....
ReplyDeleteHoly crap, Hocker. That was an atrocious FG attempt from 29 yards. 24-14 Hogs nearing halftime.
ReplyDeleteOkie State leads K-State 14-10 still in the 1st.
ReplyDelete/important games no one cares about
Attempt another FG, Bama.
ReplyDeleteLOLOLOLOLOL Bama special teams
ReplyDelete
