Must List: Week 7

Folks we thought last week there was a bunch of week college football games. That's nothing compared to this week. The best game (Michigan vs Michigan State) is first thing in the morning and after that isn't much. Sure I guess you could watch Arizona State vs. Oregon, but that game doesn't start until 10:15 on the east coast and Arizona State is a huge underdog. Needless to say I wouldn't waste much time watching college football this week. Here are some of the games you might want to keep an eye on this week.

Thursday, October 13th
USC at Cal, 9:00 (ESPN: Rece Davis, Jesse Palmer, Craig James, Jenn Brown): The Thursday night games are back to being mediocre. Both Cal and USC are as mediocre as you can get. And to top that all off is the fact Craig James will be calling the game. Yuck. The only reason to watch this game is to check out a night football game at AT&T Park in San Francisco.

Saturday, October 15th
Michigan at Michigan State, Noon (ESPN: Dave Pasch, Chris Spielman, Urban Meyer, Quint Kessenich): Michigan State is a slight favored in this game despite being at home and having beaten Michigan the past three years. Michigan though is undefeated and ranked higher. I like Michigan in this game because of Denard Robinson. Sparty might have a good defense, but they won't be able to contain Denard this week. (I probably just jinxed Michigan. Sorry RJBO.)

Baylor at Texas A&M, Noon (FX: Gus Johnson, Charles Davis, Tim Brewster): Should be another high scoring fun game in the Big XII. Also thinking about Gus Johnson on the call while RG3 is taking snaps is making me very giddy. This should be awesome.

LSU at Tennessee, 3:30 (CBS: Verne Lundquist, Gary Danielson, Tracy Wolfson): Remember last year's clusterfuck at the end of the game? With Tyler Bray out for this game for the Vols, I don't see this game being close at all. That being said, this seems like the perfect Les Miles moment where the game will be closer that it should be with LSU using a trick play to win the game late in the fourth quarter and everyone calling Miles the "Mad Hatter".

Oklahoma State at Texas, 3:30 (ABC: Sean McDonough, Matt Millen, Samantha Steele): Texas was ran off the field last week against Oklahoma. What's going to happen to the Longhorns this week against Oklahoma State who is possibly better offensively than Oklahoma? Will the Longhorns give the ball to OK State multiple times like they did for OU?

Florida at Auburn, 7:00 (ESPN: Brad Nessler, Todd Blackledge, Holly Rowe): Florida has been stomped on in the past two weeks while Auburn crashed back to earth against Arkansas last week. Florida still hasn't announced their starting QB this week but the options are two true Freshman. So bet money on Auburn.

Kansas State at Texas Tech, 7:00 (FSN: Joel Meyers, Joel Klatt, Jim Knox): With Bill Snyder back as the K-State coach, the Wildcats are once again exciting to watch. Snyder's offenses are always very explosive and they're playing against another explosive offense in Texas Tech.

Arizona State at Oregon, 10:15 (ESPN: Brent Musburger, Kirk Herbstreit, Erin Andrews): Gameday in Eugene this week tells you all what you need to know about how bad this week's games are. Arizona State's defense is good, but they'll wear down in the third quarter like every other Pac-12 team against Oregon. Oregon wears down every team in the third quarter except SEC teams. #TrollFace

Recipe of the Week, Chocolate Spiders: The recipe this week is via my friend James Craven and it's a Halloween special called Chocolate Spiders which is basically marshmallow cookies. Sounds delicious.

Alcoholic Beverage of the Week, Black Maple Hill 21 Cask 7: Now I'm not a Bourbon fan, but ocassionally I'll drink Bourbon. Black Maple Hill 21 Cask 7 is a sweet mixture of maple and pecan straight from Kentucky. I would definitely try this bourbon.

  2. A night football game at AT&T Park? You mean the Emerald Nuts Bowl & XFL games don't count?

Don't forget: (8)Clemson at Maryland 7:00 ET on ESPNU. I think the Tigers are in for a letdown.

  3. @kt: Sadly, youmight now want to add East-West Shrine Games or the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl as well (the current name of the Emerald Nuts Bowl.)
