Mitch Williams "Columnist": I don't know who edits the writing over at MLB.com or who hires the writers, but having Mitch Williams write "columns" probably isn't a good idea. Chris Berman thinks Mitch Williams uses a lot of cliches like, "When I played with Towers, he pitched when all of us knew he was hurt -- a gamer." At least he didn't say, "Towers always hustled" or "Towers was gritty."
One Year Ago Today: One year ago today Jim Joyce made his infamous "safe" call when Armando Galarraga needed one more out for a perfect game. It's amazing how much has changed since that call. Galarraga was traded to Arizona, made the rotation, stunk up the place, designated for assignment, cleared waivers, and now is pitching in Triple-A Reno for the Diamondbacks. Joyce is also not allowed to ump games with Galarraga pitching because they co-authored this book together.
My Eyes, They Burn!: Braves reliever Peter Moylan tweeted a picture of the dress his fiance is going to wear at the ESPY Awards. Then Moylan decided to Tweet a picture of himself in the same dress.
Now I know what you're thinking. Peter Moylan was invited to the ESPY's? Did Antonio Bastardo turn down the invite?
Ozzie Speaks Update: My favorite blog of all-time Ozzie Speaks was updated last week and Ozzie answers fans questions! He even answers a question about the recently departed Macho Man Randy Savage!
Q: What is your favorite “Macho Man” memory? – Jason S. (St. Paul Park, Minn.)Don't apologize Ozzie. Everyone loved the Macho Man because of Miss Elizabeth.
A: Anytime he came out with Miss Elizabeth (haha); just kidding. I remember when I took my kids to see Hulk Hogan vs. Macho Man at the Rosemont Horizon way back, and they put on a great show and my kids loved it.
I can't unsee that Moylan picture.
