Foul Ball: Play a Vogelsong

Pittsburgh 2 San Francisco 5: Ryan Vogelsong last one a major league game back in 2005. Six years later he picked another victory. Starting for the injured Barry Zito, Vogelsong went 5 2/3 innings giving up four hits, two runs, while striking out a career high eight batters. The Pirates committed four errors in the game including one leading to a Giants run. The Giants took two out of three in Pittsburgh despite going 2-for-24 with runners in scoring position.

Seattle 7 Detroit 2: This Michael Pineda kid might be alright. Pineda struck out nine Tigers hitters to go along with the four hits and two runs he gave up to improve his record to 4-1. Not bad for a young guy. Luis Rodriguez homered and drove in three runs for the Mariners.

Texas 2 Toronto 5: This game was tied until the ninth inning and then the Rangers defense gave the Blue Jays two runs on two defensive errors by Darren Oliver and Adrian Beltre on the same play! To be fair to Darren Oliver though, he was confused as the rest of us when Jose Bautista tried to run to third base even though there was already a Blue Jay on the bag.

Tampa Bay 6 Minnesota 1, Tampa Bay 15 Minnesota 3: Not only was the Twins embarrassed in the double header against the Rays, but they gave up 10 RBIs and a home run to Ben Zobrist in the two games. If Zobrist drove in another three runs during the game, he would have tied a major league record for RBIs in a single day.

Washington 4 New York 3: New father Ian Desmond homered and hit a triple to help the Natinals beat the streaking Mets. Livan Hernandez did Livan Hernandez things by going eight innings giving up seven hits and three runs and picking up the victory. It still amazes me that Livan Hernandez is still pitching and is still effective.

Cleveland 8 Kansas City 2: The Indians took two out of three from Kansas City and now sit 4.5 games ahead of Kansas City for first place in the AL Central. Grady Sizemore hit another home run, his eighth of the year in only 10 games! Sizemore is on pace to hit 80 home runs on the year. I think he can do it.

Baltimore 2 Boston 6: Certain players play like hall of famers against certain teams. Barry Bonds just owned the Padres for example I would say Boston's Jon Lester owns the Baltimore Orioles. Lester improved his record against Baltimore to 14-0 going eight innings and giving up two runs. Jon Lester at this point should tape a red ball around Baltimore's mouth and introduce them to the gimp.

Create a Caption: I would be facepalming as well Darren.

Video of the Day: Relieve that crazy Yankees-Orioles brawl from years ago.
