Sugar Bowl Open Thread

Who: Ohio State Buckeyes vs. Arkansas Razorbacks
What: Sugar Bowl
Where: Superdome, New Orleans, NO
When: 5:30 PT/8:30 ET
TV: ESPN
Announcing: Brad Nessler and Todd Blackledge, SR: Holly Rowe
My Pick: Arkansas
Notes: Dan Wetzel of Yahoo! Sports eviscerates NCAA over the hypocrisy over the Pryor ruling. I specifically picked Arkansas because of this. Ohio State is in a stagnant state because Pryor can declare for the draft after this game. Ohio State will be distracted, plus their past record in BCS games against Southern teams, is reason enough to pick Arkansas over tOSU.

  1. Pryor is stupid if he does not declare for the draft. Which is why I totally expect him to return to Ohio State for a senior season.

  2. Is it fair to say Pryor is a Ron Powlus type of bust? Remember the hype surrounding him coming out of high school?

  3. If a female ESPN on-air personality had called an on-air male ESPN personality "sweet baby" and "asshole," would she have been fired?

  4. @RJBO: If furd had to win yesterday, then tOSu must win today! #stillbitter

  5. Nessler: "(Pryor & Sanzenbacher) hoped to hook up, but not this way." #OutOfContext

  6. Keith, no Buckeyes loss will outweigh the temporary RichRod "victory." #DamnFox2Reports

  7. Touchdown DJ Williams! Was his knee down? Wow.

  8. Walk-in touchdown Boom Herron. Yikes, Hogs D.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Nessler: "The only guy (close to Herron) was the umpire, and he was 2 Touchdown Tackle Boxes away." #shill

  10. @RJBO: I'm watching the 88 NFC Championship game on Youtube. Guess what? The Soldier Field turf sucked back then.

  11. Haha. That's no surprise, Keith. Don't know why the Chicago Park District doesn't go to the fake stuff.

  12. Petrino gambles by throwing on 4th and 1 instead of trying a FG and Mallett's pass gets tipped. Dumb.

  13. Every time Bobby Petrino fails on 4th down, 2,000 birds die. #Ireadthatstorytoday

  14. What a TD catch by Sanzenbacher!

Dammit. The Buckeyes team I expected to roll is actually losing to lowly Iowa. #CollegeHoops

  15. Sanzenbacher! #IfeelyourpainRJBO

  16. Pryor's Sugar Bowl jersey is already on eBay. #1,200versionofthatjoke

  17. Iowa leads #2 AnO$U 35-29 at the half in Carver-Hawkeye. #WrongBuckeyeTeamTrailing

  18. Razorbacks decided to copy VaTech's "forget about the TEs" coverage from the Orange Bowl.

  19. DeVier Posey making TD catches means this game is almost Ovah. #HawkHarrelson

  23. At least Joe Adams didn't drop that easy pass on 3rd down. Damn.

    ReplyDelete
  24. When did Edward Scissorhands start playing WR for Arkansas? #I'msurethisjokehasbeenmadetonight

  25. I wouldn't allow Pryor on my NFL team if he offered his services for free. He's a trainwreck in the making.

    ReplyDelete
  26. i now understand what you mean by Luckeyes, RJBO

    ReplyDelete
  27. of course, Jim Abbott would have caught most of those passes the Arkansas receivers have dropped tonight

    ReplyDelete
  28. When Skip Bayless filled in for Rome, he would always tweak the "Luckeyes" for that pass interference call in the NC game against Miami. Only respectable or funny thing he's ever said.

    ReplyDelete
  29. @RJBO: Bayless' "The Flag from Tuscon" rant still makes me laugh. Like you said, the only respectable and funny thing he's ever said.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Even though the Big Ten needs a Ohio State win, I so want to see the Buckeyes blow this.

"This Monday, it's for all the Tostitos." - Brad Nessler

Of course he made that pun.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Herron stopped short! Clock running. C'mon, Mallett!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Arkansas is going to regret not taking the block into the end zone

    ReplyDelete
  33. Nessler: "DJ Williams holds on." No. He. Didn't, Brad.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Not the best day sports-wise for me: Ryan Ermanni's erroneous "Rich Rod Is Fired" Tweet, Rodriguez probably saving his job, now AnO$U holding on for dear life. Blech.

    ReplyDelete
  35. How did Mallet think he have an open receiver there?

    ReplyDelete
  36. Holly Rowe forgot to ask the Sweater Vest if he's going to take the Michigan job.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I could use a Hand Grenade, A Hurricane and a 96 OZ inflatable bottle of Miller Lite. #StillNotEnoughBoozeToThinkHollyRoweIsBangable

    ReplyDelete
  38. I got stuck listening to Matt Millen on radio...Good thing RJBO listening to it on radio.

    ReplyDelete
  39. BTW - In a post-game interview with Kessenich Pryor didn't answer the question about him staying or leaving for the NFL

    ReplyDelete
  40. So if the Ohio State players break their promise and go pro do they forfeit this game?

    ReplyDelete
  41. Any more confetti and a levee's gonna break. #TooSoon?

    ReplyDelete
  42. Pryor: "All 5 of us. We're very sorry.......We did this all for you. Go Bucks!" Que?

    ReplyDelete
  43. The Sugar Bowl MVP trophy is already on eBay. #tooeasy?

    ReplyDelete
  44. Maybe Matt Millen will draft Pryor or the Hogs WR's #lowblow

Michigan's handled the Richrod situation pretty well. At least he wasn't left to twist. Dude's under his cans bumping the hell out of Grobes

    ReplyDelete
  46. I'd like to take this time and thank Cam Newton for his rehearsed and prepared "Thank God" statements post-SEC Championship Game. Pryor seemed like he didn't think he'd be in the spotlight post-Sugar Bowl. #WinningThePressConference101

  47. WTF was Lou Holtz doing "reaching into his wallet" to the Luckeye players on set? More impermissible benefits????

    Holtz: "GO TO BOURBON STREET!"
