I know the majority of you have the day off, so enjoy your day off by watching some college football. I'll have a live blog up tomorrow for the bowl games and Winter Classic. Today though, comment in this open thread. Enjoy the games and don't be a troll.
Meineke Car Care Bowl (Charlotte, NC): South Florida vs. Clemson 12:00 (ESPN - Carter Blackburn, Mike Bellotti, and Brock Huard, SR: Shannon Spake)
Sun Bowl (El Paso, TX): Miami (FL) vs. Notre Dame 2:00 (CBS - Verne Lundquist and Gary Danielson, SR: Tracy Wolfson)
Liberty Bowl (Memphis, TN): Central Florida vs. Georgia 3:30 (ESPN - Charlie Neal and Andre Ware, SR: Cara Capuano)
Chick-fil-A Bowl (Atlanta, GA): South Carolina vs. Florida State 7:30 (ESPN - Ron Franklin and Ed Cunningham, SR: Jeannine Edwards)
Carter Blackburn looks like he drinks milk at the bar.
ReplyDeleteNo one told me GuJo was calling the Louville-Kentucky game!
ReplyDeleteKellogg: "Louisville's been a bit sloppy and untidy."
ReplyDeleteBlackburn on the Radar defense: "...As opposed to the Hawkeye or Hot Lips Houlihan defense."
ReplyDeleteKentucky blowing Louvulle + USF-Clemson is as boring as it gets = Me taking a walk and then grabbing lunch.
ReplyDeleteClearing 1 inch of snow out from the Sun Bowl isn't the same as clearing 20 inches from Lincoln Financial Field. #CaptainObvious
ReplyDeleteDanielson: "Within two years, both of these teams will be in a BCS bowl game."
ReplyDeleteDanielson on Cris Collinsworth's kid: "He's faster than the dad."
ReplyDelete"He's faster than the dad."-Danielson on Cris Collinsworth son.
ReplyDeleteHow disgusted do you think Gary is that he has to call the Sun Bowl and there are no SEC teams in the game?
ReplyDeleteOf course Gary Slive has to bring up Julio Jones when comparing Michael Floyd...
ReplyDeleteThat Miami receiver is bundled up like he's playing this game in Edmonton.
ReplyDeleteVerne: "It's always good to have Tim Brandu working on a Holiday."
ReplyDeleteVerne: "I misspoke."
ReplyDeleteYou're just old, Verne.
Great TD catch by Michael Floyd!
ReplyDeleteThere's the Jacory Harris we all know.
ReplyDeleteHow many games has Tommy Rees has started and Danielson is comparing him to Phillip Rivers, Kosar, Brees? Yikes.
ReplyDeleteI forgot that in lieu of an SEC team, a CBS college football crew will hype up Notre Dame.
If Notre Dame win, will Tracy have communion on air? #CammyCamJuice
ReplyDeleteHoly crap Jacory.....
ReplyDelete21-0 Irish.
ReplyDeleteSince The U's quit, could CBS just run every Pomplamoose Hyundai commercial instead the rest of the game? #LessTorture
So when does Harris rip off his Jersey and reveal an ND one underneath, while Jim Ross yells, THAT'S LOU HOLTZ'S MUSIC!!
ReplyDeleteAt least Clemson is showing some late life.
ReplyDeleteHahaha at Carter Blackburn catching himself while he was advocating Clemson "go for 2," down 31-25.
Jacory Harris continues to find his favorite target, Harrison Smith.
ReplyDelete@RJBO: That actually wasn't Harris.
ReplyDeleteMy attempt at a bad joke got picked off....
ReplyDeleteThe College of Charleston is running the Vols out of their own gym, up by 17 midway through the 2nd half.
We could get a Montana sighting in the Sun Bowl? Yes please!
ReplyDeletehow much do I have to contribute to get a Pammy/Gary Danielson pairing?
ReplyDelete/sarcasm'd
Winter Classic start time now 5:00 ET (2:00 PT). They are morons for wanting to go up against the Rose Bowl. Wait til 8:30 to compete with the Fiesta Bowl.
ReplyDeleteAlso, Eagles vs. whomever is being reported as the NBC prime time game on Saturday night.
Danielson: "I know what you like to go and celebrate at halftime..."
ReplyDeleteVerne: "I like to grab a hot dog or 2"
if by hot dog you mean vodka shots...
Maybe it is the codeine cough syrup, but I see Gary Busey every time they show O'Leary.
ReplyDelete@Justin do you really want to piss off the Law & Order fans by starting the Winter Classic at 8?
ReplyDeleteWhen I took my brother to the Cancer center this week, they were playing 'Power of Love' by Huey Lewis. Most rocking Cancer center ever!
ReplyDelete@ Kris: You do have a point.....
ReplyDeletesorry. too busy celebrating the Orioles signing of Derrek Lee to comment....
ReplyDeleteI'm going to take a nap. #IhavetogoapartytonighteventhoughIdon'twantto
ReplyDeleteCBS Graphic: 12 straight plays without a turnover (longest streak of game)
ReplyDeleteIt's been reduced to that.
shouldn't CBS maybe hire someone to commentate who actually knows the rules of the game?
ReplyDeleteCBS pays Danielson to fluff, not have any actual knowledge.
ReplyDeleteVerne: "I swear (Tommy Rees) could've been one of the children in the Sound of Music."
ReplyDeleteNow there are reports the Winter Classic is being moved to 8:00 ET (5 PT). Smarter move. That Fiesta Bowl could be torture.
ReplyDeleteDanielson: "I'm sorry, I didn't see the other play clock."
ReplyDeleteThe SEC really approves this guy to do their Game of the Week?
@Justin thank god. i think that could be awesome under the lights
ReplyDeleteWhoa, I misread the first report. That was "Announcement on Winter Classic Start Time Will Come At 5:00 PM ET," not it will start at 5:00 ET.
ReplyDelete/I am a dodo head.
//Actually, I am pre-occupied writing a peace on the history of the #3 seed in the modern format of the NFL Playoffs
///I still need to learn to read.

ReplyDeleteMaryland would have given Notre Dame a much better game
ReplyDeleteVerne before a Two and a Half Men promo: "I know this is one of your favorite shows..."
ReplyDeleteDanielson: "What?" "You kinda outed me on this one."
Smart move by Keith taking a nap: UGA-UCF is tied at 3 near halftime, Minnesota and MSU are in a basketball slugfest (literally), and I can't take much more of Gary Danielson.
ReplyDeleteIt's official. Winter Classic at 8 PM.
ReplyDeletei hate when Notre Dame wins & especially when they run up the score.
ReplyDeleteHope everyone has a great New Year's Eve!
Danielson: " I had to thank Cam Newton, but I didn't know what to say, so I just copied what I wrote to Tebow..."
ReplyDeleteDanielson on a CBS staffer getting married today: "Guy'll do anything to avoid coming to El Paso, huh?"
ReplyDeleteI feel good. I took a nap and ate. Now I'm ready for a night of college football and hoops.
