I guess ESPN figures no one is working this week so their showing bowl games at 9 in the morning on the West Coast. None of these games particularly interest me, but there's at least games you can watch if you're sitting down taking a break from whatever you're doing. So enjoy the games, leave comments, and don't be a troll.
Armed Forces Bowl (Dallas, TX): Army vs. Southern Methodist 12:00 (ESPN - Beth Mowins and Ray Bentley, SR: Jon Berger)
Pinstripe Bowl (New York, NY): Kansas State vs. Syracuse 3:20 (ESPN - Bob Wischusen and Brian Griese, SR: Eamon McAnaney)
Music City Bowl (Nashville, TN): North Carolina vs. Tennessee 6:40 (ESPN - Mark Jones and Bob Davie, SR: Cara Capuano)
Holiday Bowl (San Diego, CA): Washington vs. Nebraska 10:00 (ESPN - Chris Fowler and Todd Blackledge, SR: Erin Andrews)
That was officially the worst excessive celebration flag I have ever seen thrown.
ReplyDeleteI walked in the door to see that penalty. Typical Big Ten ref for ya.
ReplyDeleteCurrently on ESPN2, Temple and Villanova are about to kick off. My two favorite college basketball teams with Scott Graham and Bill Raftery announcing. This is my college basketball heaven.
ReplyDelete@Justin: I'm with you here. I'm going to watch the Temple-Nova game.
ReplyDeleteBTW, I agree with Dana O'Neil. All Big 5 games should be played at the Palestra.
I still can't believe Temple lost to Cal. They're much better than Cal.
ReplyDelete@ Keith: I did not see that game, but I only assume that was an off day for Temple. They are a very good team and should hang around with Villanova all night. It would not surprise me if they won this.
ReplyDeleteA writer I am following at the game just suggested the same thing about the Palestra.
ReplyDeleteHaha, the Pavilion played "Forget You" during the Media timeout, but the fans instead sang the proper lyrics ("fuck you," not "forget you.")
ReplyDeleteTemple does realize they have to shoot the ball within 35 seconds right?
ReplyDeleteGotta go out for a bit. Thank goodness for my DVR!
ReplyDeleteCBS College Sports (for some reason) ran the 3-0 Oregon State-Pittburgh 2008 Sun Bowl from 5-8 EST. #JustWokeUp

ReplyDeleteI don't want to know what you did last night. #YesIdo
I take it RJBO is eagerly anticipating a potential Jim Harbaugh era in Michigan......
ReplyDeleteI hate to tell Scott Graham this, but Stanford, California doesn't exist. Palo Alto, California on the other hand does exist.
ReplyDeleteGood win for Nova and a tough loss for Temple. I could picture both teams as Top 4 seeds come tourney time.
ReplyDeleteoh dear
ReplyDeleteUConn women on the verge of losing.........GO STANFORD!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSorry but I get nauseous every time they compare the UConn's women record to any record in men's sports where the competition is much more deep. It's easier to get on such a streak when there is no competition.
ReplyDeleteThe Stanford woman's basketball team is the only Stanford team I root for.
ReplyDeleteCondi Rice is fired up.
ReplyDeleteAuriemma spent the majority of his life about 10 minutes from my house. Despite the fact he is a local product, there is something about him I just can't stand.
ReplyDeleteI can't stand Auriemma either. That's why I'm happy he's about to lose.
ReplyDeleteTHE STREAK IS OVER THANK YOU STANFORD!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd the 1st person ESPN interviews.......Geno Auriemma. I know it's Stanford and this crowd beats most of their football crowd, but would it hurt to give the winners some interview time?
ReplyDeleteI did not watch the Music City Bowl, but apparently there was an even worse end-of-game officiating controversy than the Pinstripe Bowl excessive celebration.....
ReplyDeleteSorry, fellas. I took an hour or so nap during the Pinstripe Bowl and woke up to the 3-0 gem on TV....
ReplyDeleteHow is Jake Locker back in the game after what looked like a scary concussion?
Ugh. Taylor Martinez will incur a spittle spray filled shoutdown from Pelini at halftime.
ReplyDeleteHuskies lead 10-7 despite Jevan Snead 2.0 going 0-7 in the 1st Half.
ReplyDeleteChris Fowler channeling his inner Newy Scruggs complaining about the post-Halftime smoke.
ReplyDeleteOne of the Sun columnists was on the radio tonight, reporting Rich Rod is headed to Maryland after Michigan gives him the boot.
ReplyDelete/wantstogointothefetalposition
As much as I want Rich Rod to go, I still have my doubts about likely successor Brady Hoke.
ReplyDeleteBlackledge on a Taylor Martinez fumble: "Bad enough the black guys--black jerseys are trying to knock it out."
ReplyDeleteNebraska is already adjusting to the Big Ten swimmingly. #LosingBowlGames
ReplyDeleteSark on Locker coming back for his senior season: "Money's money..."
