Jets at Patriots Open Thread

Not much going on tonight besides Monday Night Football. Unlike last Monday, we actually have a great game in the Patriots-Jets. This might be a first, but I'm actually rooting for the Patriots. The Jets are arrogant and cocky and they need to be humbled.

In not so shocking news, the Denver Broncos have fired Josh McDaniels. After Spygate II, losing a ton of games, and trading Jay Cutler, Brandon Marshall, and Peyton Hillis it's not shocking at all that McDaniels is fired. Now the 49ers must fire Mike Singletary for they can hire Jon Gruden before the Broncos. Stop by and leave comments, enjoy the game, and don't be a troll.

  1. I used all my expletives up after the xfinity Comcast Triple Fail last night: no cable, internet or phone in my building for 11 hours. It came back on this morning.

Well, just one more: Fuck Comcast.

    Their city is a dump.

The best defense for libel/slander? The truth.

  2. Fuck Comcast as well. I had problems myself with Comcast today. I'm about two seconds away from ordering Dish and a new internet provider.

  3. Keith, I'm gonna try the whole Gruden "This/That Guy" count thing tonight (not here; but I'll give updates).
    O/U: 36 1/2. Too low?

  4. Good luck with it RJBO. Leave updates.

I'm going with the under: 30

  5. Wayne Larrivee shouldn't be condemned to doing E-Level games on the BTN. He's better than Eric Collins. #SomeDIISchool-Michigan

    This.
I just see the Jets pulling out a late victory, as is their pattern this season.

  7. @ RJBO: May your New Years with Mike Patrick and Craig James be a happy one. ;-)

  8. Justin, I'd like to say "At least I'll have a hangover" but I usually volunteer to be the designated driver on New Years' Eve. That might change this year.

  9. That one play could have use Yakety Sax. #IneedanewMeme

  10. Mike Tirico just had a "this guy."

    Bleh.

  11. Keith, "I don't botch handoffs, I handoff botches." #RayRayInTampa #NotANewMeme,Either

That Tirico "This Guy" doesn't count.

  12. That spot looks short. Rexy might've wasted a challenge.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Challenge spots should be eliminated.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Blow a challenge, then go for it anyway. At least they picked it up.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Is there anyway Braylon Edwards can catch 3 TDs today and BenJarvus Green-Ellis run for 3 as well? Pretty please?

//Must make improbable comeback to beat Keith.

  16. Wow, after looking over matched by the Red Wings the Sharks are now winning.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Folk kicked that so wide it landed in the Medowlands.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Steve Weatherford was better off running for the 1st instead of punting that.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I'm liking this rash of going for it on 4th down. Great call to Branch for the TD.

  20. Must have touchdown to Braylon Edwards now.

    ReplyDelete
  21. 24-3 Pats. Rex should've challenged that Tate TD.
This Jets Defense, it forgot to show up tonight. #AsJonGruden

  22. That probably stays a catch. Much to my dismay.

/Needs Edwards and Green-Ellis fantasy points

  23. Hahaha at Trump's toupee blowing in the breeze.

  24. The Donald either glued his wig to his head or that's his real hair.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Mike Tirico just called Braylon Edwards "Santonio Holmes."

    ReplyDelete
  26. @ProFootballTalk: Donald Trump's hair was just spotted trying to get "the wave" started at Foxboro.

    ReplyDelete
  27. How's the "this guy" count coming along?

    ReplyDelete
  28. It's been mostly "This ____" (This fullback, This Brad Smith, et al.) for Gruden so far; 9 in all forms. Jaws actually has 2 "this guys," and the one from Tirico. #GeekiestThingI'veEverDone

  29. Please throw a deep ball to Edwards.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Brad Smith lucky to drop that pass. #CaptainObvious

    ReplyDelete
  31. 24-3 Patriots at the half. Heavily hyped games always turn out to be great.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Oh boy. If the Pats pick up that botched handoff & score, it would've been game over.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Braylon Edwards caught a pass? #Unpossible

    ReplyDelete
  34. I posted the video of Drew Stanton doing the Dougie. Sorry, RJBO, I nearly cry from laughter every time I watch it.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I spent laughing at that Drew Stanton Dougie live for 10 minutes. That won't get old. Ever.

    ReplyDelete
  36. And a pass on 4th & 1? Yikes. The Jets are lucky it worked, but Rex Ryan has had much better coaching games. He is outsmarting himself. You have LT and Shonn Greene, pound it in there.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Yikes. Rex's wife might be in a magazine, Tonight, the Jets' D is on the side of a milk carton.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Runs to BenJarvus Green-Ellis please?

    ReplyDelete
  39. Welker TD. This game is over, as are my hopes of beating Keith in fantasy, and perhaps making the playoffs. :(

    ReplyDelete
  40. You may kiss the my ring now, Justin.

    /Peyton Hillis saved my season.

    ReplyDelete
  41. This "This Guy" deal with Gruden tonight is more of a disappointment than the game. Well, maybe not.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Don't force deep balls to Braylon Butterfingers, Sanchize.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Gruden invoking Brett Favre & Derek Jeter in one breath about Brady. Good God.

    ReplyDelete
  44. i'm guessing Belicheat's going for the style points tonight

  47. Keith, you left the Gator Bowl ranking blank in the Bowl Game post. It's that bad, huh? #Kidding

  48. Too little too late for Green-Ellis.

  49. Yeah, Michigan-Miss State gets a blank.

  50. Bill Walton is announcing the Kings game. See you guys later.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I'm sticking with the game, only for my fail of a "This Guy" concept. Plus, the Hoodie has to have a double-reverse flea flicker he's saving for just such an occasion.

    ReplyDelete
  52. @RJBo save it for next week, in what should be a much better game

    ReplyDelete
  53. I might need to, just to compare the #'s, a la the Joe Buck "On-drus" deal.

  54. I am officially an author for SB Nation's The Brotherly Game. Yay me!

  55. "Dandy Don would have been singing 'turn out the lights, the party is over' very early tonight." - Mike Tirico

    Indeed. RIP Don Meredith

    ReplyDelete
  56. Meredith also has the most consecutive games of 2+ TD passes without an interception (6) in NFL History. Brady tied Theismann with 5 straight tonight.

    RIP Don Meredith.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Drew Stanton doing the Dougie was the video they showed as SportsCenter advertised their Top 10?

    /More like Not Top 10

    ReplyDelete
  58. I would be completely remiss if I didn't say Congratulations, Justin.

    See ya, fellas.
