This college football season has flown by and it's mostly been mundane. Sure we've seen number one teams upset and other upset games, but that doesn't mean this season has been all that great. The games themselves have mostly been mundane. We haven't really had any morning games that are exciting. Haven't had any "games of the week" that have been exciting. Heck, the best games have been the afternoon games. This season has mostly been boring. Thankfully though it has flown by. We're already at week 10 and all teams only have three or four games left in the year.
I'm interested to see how the rest of the season plays out for the West Coast teams. Will Oregon go undefeated? Will Boise State continue to be passed up the BCS standings by other teams? Could Boise State really finish the year in the top 5 and be left out of an BCS game? While the season has been mundane, the finish will be quite exciting.
Announcing schedule via the506.
Thursday, November 4th
Georgia Tech @ 22 Virginia Tech, 7:30, ESPN- This tells you how bad the ACC is this year. Virginia Tech lost to Boise State and James Madison to start the year and are somehow the best team in the ACC. Even if Georgia Tech beats Virginia Tech, they'll be one game behind the Hokies in the ACC Coastal division. This might not be the most exciting game, but I can watch the Georgia Tech triple-option offense any day of the week.
Saturday, November 6th
Maryland @ Miami, 12:00, ESPNU- This game instantly became exciting once Maryland dropped 62 points on Wake Forest last week and Miami will have a quarterback starting not named Jacory Harris. Miami has given up a lot of points this season, maybe Maryland can drop 40 points on the Hurricanes?
21 Baylor @ 17 Oklahoma State, 12:30, FSN- When you looked at the schedule this season, did you think Baylor-Oklahoma State would be one of the more exciting games of the year? Surprisingly enough, this is one of the more exciting games. Both teams can score at will at the same time both teams have porous defenses. I'm expecting a shootout in this game with the team who has the ball last winning.
6 Alabama @ 10 Louisiana State, 3:30, CBS- This games is always interesting. It's especially interesting this season because Saban makes his second return to LSU since dumping them for the Miami Dolphins only to return to college to coach their rival. Needless to say LSU hates Saban. They hate that he left them. They hate him because he returned to college coaching at their rival. This game is exciting just for the crowd reaction to Saban. Just wait for the crowd reaction when Alabama rolls them.
Hawaii @ 4 Boise State, 3:30, ESPNU- If Boise State is going to improve their BCS standing, they must beat Hawaii by a big margin. No tough task as Hawaii has scored twenty or more points in all of their games except one. Boise State must make a big statement and this is the game they have to do it in.
3 Texas Christian @ 5 Utah, 3:30, CBS College Sports- Two teams in the top 5 playing against each other and only a small majority of the country will get to watch. What a shame. Whoever wins this game will most likely play in the Rose Bowl in January. Also if TCU wins this game, it could knock Boise State out of the BCS completely. This game has huge BCS implications and I'll try to do everything in power to watch it.
18 Arkansas @ 19 South Carolina, 7:00, ESPN- Another game featuring all offense and no defense. I would bet money on Arkansas on this game, but the game is in Columbia, South Carolina. I do expect Stephen Garcia to be pulled at one time during this game by Spurrier, because the Ole Ball Coach will get irritated by Garcia at least once in this game.
15 Arizona @ 13 Stanford, 8:00, ABC- Both teams have one loss on the season and both teams could very well win the Pac-10. I give Arizona the slight edge in this game because they play better defense than Stanford and also the Stanford crowd is no way near intimidating to opposing teams. It's just too bad the majority of this country will not get to see this game and instead have to watch Texas Tech-Missouri.
Recipe of the Week, Easy Chicken Fajita Soup- My favorite type of food is Mexican food. I have Mexican food almost once a week. So this week's recipe of the week is a Mexican dish. Try the Easy Chicken Fajita Soup. It's easy to make and the ingredients are simple. Chicken, fajita seasoning, bell peppers, beans, chicken broth, and hot sauce. That's all your ingredients right there. Nothing warms up you up better than warm soup in the winter months. This is soup, but with a different twist.
Alcoholic Beverage of the Week, Blind Pig IPA- IPA's are my favorite type of ale beers. They don't taste as bitter as regular Ale's and that's why I've always liked them. So this week's alcoholic beverage of the week is Blind Pig IPA from Russian River Brewing Company. Russian River Brewing Company out of Santa Rosa, California has been making a name for themselves recently with their brews and Blind Pig IPA is one of their bests.
