Inside the Paint: Chicago Curb Stomped & Isiah Thomas is Delusional

Chicago 112 New York 120: Don't let the final score fool you, this was a curb stomping. If it wasn't for a late Chicago run, they've would have lost by by 10 plus points. Chicago played ugly defense the entire game. The Bulls allowed New York to score 16 3-pointers (67% shooting) while allowing the Knicks to shoot 50% from the field. The Bulls were even down 70-52 at halftime. Just a dreadful game for the Bulls. Toney Douglas lead New York off the bench with 30 points and Danilo Gallinari had 24 points including going 4-for-4 from behind the arc. The Knicks bench has average 45 points this season. Derrick Rose did have this sweet dunk in the game, but Bulls fans are not particularly pleased at the moment with their head coach.

Tom Thibodeau Quote: Coach Thibs with the captain obvious quote of the night, talking about the Knicks back-ups. From the AP, “That group that came in did a better job than us."

Portland 106 Oklahoma City 107, Overtime: Portland looked like they were going to pick up an easy victory over OKC, until the fourth quarter. The Blazers collapsed down the stretch giving up 25 points to Oklahoma in the fourth quarter and allowing the Thunder to tie the game and send it to overtime. Overtime was embarrassing for both teams as neither team scored until the OT period was almost over. The Thunder eventually pulled away and won the game. Kevin Harlan of TNT had an announcer flub at the end of the game that was quite funny.

Isiah Thomas is Delusional: This story cracks me up. Via the great Ian O'Conner of of ESPNNewYork.com, Isiah Thomas believes he can still be a general manager in the NBA. Specifically, he believes he can be the GM for the New York Knicks again. If he already didn't damage the Knicks already, he wants seconds. Here's the money quote.
"Asked if he hopes to replace Donnie Walsh whenever the 69-year-old Knicks president retires, Thomas said, "Every single day of the week.

"When I look at my GM/executive record, if I'm evaluated on that, then whoever's after Donnie, if you're not talking about some of the top people in the game, I'll put my draft evaluation record up against anyone's."
Hilarious. He wants to replace Donnie Walsh and actually thinks he's a good draft evaluator. The only draft pick Isiah made that actually panned out was David Lee. Other than that, he's been a terrible draft evaluator. And I haven't even mentioned his lack of understanding about the salary cap or the fact that he traded for guys like Steve Francis, Jalen Rose, Eddy Curry and signed guys like Jerome James. Isiah is truly delusional. I do suggest reading this piece because Isiah talks about how he plans to get Lebron to sign with the Knicks in 2014, the time he hired Larry Brown as coach, and even that embarrassing sexual harassment lawsuit.
