Must List: Thanksgiving Style

Nothing like feasting on Thanksgiving day meals, enjoying the days off, and watching rival colleges play each other. This weekend is rivalry week for many of the colleges in the nation. Ohio State vs. Michigan. Florida vs. Florida State. Oklahoma vs. Oklahoma State. All great games. Have a wonderful holiday and enjoy the games.

Announcing Schedule via the 506.

Thursday, November 25th
17 Texas A&M @ Texas, 8:00: ESPN- Texas A&M needs to beat Texas and pray for an Oklahoma State loss to reach the Big XII title game. As for Texas, the Longhorns need a win to end a horrendous year on a positive note. Nothing like digesting your meal watching these teams.

Friday, November 26th
2 Auburn @ 11 Alabama, 2:30: CBS- This is the game of the year in college football. Cam Newton the most exciting college player this season versus a Nick Saban lead defense. How great would it be if Alabama defeated Auburn and really screwed up the BCS? Would a one-loss LSU jump over both TCU and Boise State for the national championship bid? I can't believe I'm doing this, but I'm rooting for Bama in this game. I want to see the BCS chaos.

21 Arizona @ 1 Oregon, 7:00: ESPN- How great would it be if both Oregon and Auburn lost on the same day? I've never been a big fan of the idea of a college football playoff for the division 1 teams. After this year though, I want a college football playoff. And the only way this will happen if both Oregon and Auburn lose before the season ends. Imagine the outrage if LSU played Wisconsin in the national championship? So root against Oregon as well on Friday.

4 Boise State @ 19 Nevada, 10:15: ESPN- Boise State passes TCU in the rankings if they thrash Nevada this weekend. The game will be in cold Reno against a solid Nevada team that runs the ball right down your throat. If Boise State manhandles Nevada like they did to Fresno State last week, they'll definitely pass TCU in the rankings.

Saturday, November 27th
8 Ohio State @ Michigan, 12:00: ABC- This is one of those games no matter how bad the teams might be, you have to watch. This game took on a broader meaning when the idiot Ohio State President said TCU and Boise State don't deserve to play in the national championship over a one-loss team like tOSU because of strength of schedule. Don't worry president of tOSU, no one wants to watch your school you embarrass itself in the championship game either.

10 Michigan State @ Penn State, 12:00: ESPN2- Penn State made news yesterday when 1,000-year old Joe Paterno said he was returning for another year at Penn State. I love Paterno as much as the next Penn State fan, but when is it enough? Will Paterno coach until he croaks on the sideline? When will Penn State finally move on and hire a coach that will make Penn State competitive again on the national stage? I know it's hard to move on, but you eventually have too.

5 Louisiana State @ 12 Arkansas, 3:30: CBS- Les Miles/LSU games are must-watch no matter who they're playing. Something crazy always happens in a Les Miles game. And the games are always guaranteed to have a crazy ending.

Florida @ 22 Florida State, 3:30: ABC- For the first time in the Urban Meyer era at Florida, the Gators are underdogs to the Seminoles. See Penn State what it's like when your longtime coach is forced out? Your team is actually favored against a rival. Now watch Florida defeat the Seminoles on a last-second missed field goal by the Seminoles.

13 Oklahoma @ 9 Oklahoma State, 8:00: ABC- Amazingly Oklahoma State is also favored for the first time in a while against their rival. Oklahoma State needs to beat the Sooners so they can play in the Big XII championship game. Oklahoma needs a win to retain beat football team in Oklahoma status.

Recipe of the Week, Baked Brie: This recipe is actually courtesy of the California Golden Blogs.
Ingredients:
One 1-lb round brie in its rind (President makes a particularly good one)
One sheet of frozen puff pastry (Pepperidge Farm is fine, but La Boulange makes a great one if you’re at Whole Foods or Mollie Stones)
A few tablespoons of a good fruit chutney
One egg, beaten

Preheat the oven to 350F. Roll out your puff pastry into an 11-inch round. Spread the chutney into a fist sized circle in the middle of the puff pastry. Place the brie on top of the chutney, and fold the puff pastry up and over the brie, until it’s completely covered. Dampen the edges of the puff pastry with water where they overlap to seal them. Flip the brie over, so the seams are on the bottom, and place on a parchment covered cookie sheet. Use a pastry brush to paint the egg all over the puff pastry.

Bake for about 20-25 minutes, until golden brown and puffy. Remove from oven and let sit for about 15 minutes, then serve on a plate with either Breton whole wheat crackers or sliced baguette. Make sure your plate has a raised rim, because it will be runny at first!
Alcoholic Beverage of the Week, Christmas Ale: This beer is unique because the recipe for this beer changes each year. Last year the Christmas Ale had a lighter taste was delicious paired with the Thanksgiving turkey. I can't wait to taste this year's recipe.

Video of the Week, 'Gobble Gobble Motherfucker'
