Leftovers and college football. There's nothing quite like being lazy and watching college football the day after Thanksgiving. The Alabama-Auburn game is a must watch for myself. The Boise State-Nevada game also intrigues me. So enjoy the games, leave comments, and don't be a troll.
Must List and Announcing Schedule.
Games I'll be watching:
2 Auburn @ 11 Alabama, 2:30: CBS
21 Arizona @ 1 Oregon, 7:00: ESPN
4 Boise State @ 19 Nevada, 10:15: ESPN
Are we going to be starting the live blog early again this Saturday?
ReplyDelete/Bloomsburg playoff game'd
//Ohio State-Michigan'd
///I will be around tomorrow morning to start it.
@Justin: Yeah, we'll live blog the games tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteVerne Lundquist is enthralled with this game.
ReplyDeleteI love how this game is the complete opposite of last year's. Last year it was Alabama that was the top ranked team and Auburn who tried to play spoiler in the Plains, now Bama is trying to play spoiler to Auburn in Tuscaloosa.
ReplyDeleteTouchdown Ingram!
ReplyDeleteWell, here we go....
Another touchdown Alabama! 14-0. Boise State has to be loving this start.
ReplyDeleteDammit. I take a little nap and all of a sudden Bama is leading 14-0.
ReplyDeleteNorthern Illinois 71, Eastern Michigan 3.
ReplyDeleteYikes.
"It's become an aesthetic delight." - Verne Lundquist on Bryant-Denny Stadium.
ReplyDeleteAuburn is blowing it's load.
ReplyDeleteWow Fairley. Get the sack, then get the celebration penalty.
ReplyDeleteAnd it leads to a 4th down conversion for Alabama. Oof.
ReplyDeletethat was such a lame NFL-esqe penalty on Fairley. and it leads to another 'Bama touchdown
ReplyDeleteWeak penatly leads to 7-points. Welcome to the SEC!
ReplyDeleteTouchdown Alabama!
ReplyDeleteWell, this is the kind of game we all wanted for chaos. Now imagine if Arizona beats Oregon. Boise-TCU National championship FTW!
"That fumble against LSU cost him the Rhodes Scholarship." - Gary Danielson
ReplyDelete@Justin if Oregon loses, i would not rule out a Boise-LSU championship game, if LSU wins tomorrow
ReplyDeleteThe way this game is going, I might switch over to the CU-Nebraska game at the bottom of the hour.
ReplyDeletewow. what a fumble from Ingram.
ReplyDeleteOvertime in the Wells Fargo Center. Flames and Flyers tied at 2.
ReplyDeleteThat fumble has more yards than Auburn's offense today.
ReplyDeleteRJBO must still be depressed by the fact his Lions gave up 100 points in the 2nd half yesterday.
ReplyDeleteAuburn needs to take that Ingram fumble and capitalize.
ReplyDelete@ Keith: Actually, he is probably giddy that the game was actually close for 45 minutes of football, which is 45 minutes more than I expected it to be close.
ReplyDelete/Kidding
RJBO? i bet he's more depressed about the potential Michigan rout tomorrow than the Lions...
ReplyDeletePronger just got a 2-minute penalty for setting a screen. Absurd officiating.
ReplyDeleteAuburn realizes #8 in crimson is someone that you have to cover, right?
ReplyDeleteVa Tech is losing to OK State in Anaheim.
ReplyDelete/Kris rubs hands together and say's "Excellent."
//Yes, I envision Kris as Mr. Burns.
Shootout in Philadelphia.
ReplyDeleteWow. The Calgary Flames and the Referees absolutely stole a point from the Flyers. Horrible.
ReplyDelete@Keith thanks. and i'm still not over the fact my mom had an affair with President Taft, too.
ReplyDelete/RJBO would get that reference'd
There it is. Gary suggesting if Auburn loses today, they should still be in the NC game.
ReplyDeleteFlames needed that W so much...The Avery Rule strikes again (should of beat Jersey in the shootout)
ReplyDeleteLet the comeback begin!
ReplyDelete@Keith hey, Gary's done it before
ReplyDelete/2006 SEC Championship Game'd
// the day RJBO took Gary off his Christmas Card list
If the Flyers had a halfway consistent power play in regulation that scored just once on their 5 opportunities, it would have never come down to the Avery Rule. I blame that more than I blame the refs, but still, the fact that the game was essentially determined on that one call does anger me a bit.
ReplyDelete"I heard Brando's ready for me." - Gary Danielson
ReplyDelete/out of context'd
Flames should of had 2 more W's on this trip...4 pts out of 8 is somewhat disappointing
ReplyDelete"I'm not getting into a he said/she said argument with the refs. And I'm the he." - Chris Pronger
ReplyDeletePronger is awesome.
Also, Flames held Kovy to 0 shots for 65 mins & the dude scores the shootout winner...go figure
ReplyDeleteThat'll save another Bama touchdown.
ReplyDelete"that was just like the 1 time you and me did the Soulja Boy"-- Verne
ReplyDeletea memory seared in my brain
a 2nd killer fumble by the Tide in this Qtr
The Manning family can't believe how awkward the McElroy family is.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteAlabama is keeping Auburn alive with these red zone fumbles, especially with the Tigers getting the ball to start the 2nd half
ReplyDeleteI expect Saban to light up Bama for those red zone turnovers.
ReplyDeleteHere is a post on Pronger and the Avery Rule today.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.the700level.com/2010/11/flyers-denied-ot-win-on-terrible-unsportsmanlike-call-lose-in-shootout.html
You'll note this statement from Colin Campbell made 2 years ago on the "Avery Rule" (bold emphasis is mine): "An unsportsmanlike conduct minor penalty will be interpreted and applied, effective immediately, to a situation when an offensive player positions himself facing the opposition goaltender and engages in actions such as waving his arms or stick in front of the goaltender's face, for the purpose of improperly interfering with and/or distracting the goaltender as opposed to positioning himself to try to make a play," Colin Campbell, the NHL director of hockey operations, said in a statement."
Zachary for the 70 yard TD pass from Newton!
ReplyDelete/this game ain't over
GAME ON!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI saw this coming.
The Auburn-Bama seconday's must have switched at halftime.
ReplyDeleteVa Tech wins. but they are grossly overhyped this year.
ReplyDeleteBama needs to hold Auburn to a FG...no momentum at all
ReplyDeleteI can't believe that Bama's gonna blow this lead.
ReplyDeleteBTW, fellas, I can get an early start on a Michigan rout today on HDNet vs. Syracuse.
Newton takes it in for Auburn!
ReplyDeleteTouchdown Cam Newton!
ReplyDeleteTOUCHDOWN CAM NEWTON!
ReplyDeleteThis'll be one hell of a finish.
Auburn has all the momentum now...McElroy needs to pick his game up
ReplyDeleteSaban might kill someone on the field if Auburn wins this game.
ReplyDeleteDear CBS...Pryor isn't a Heismann candidate
ReplyDeleteBrando: "Terrelle Pryor will at least have a Rose Bowl berth on the line tomorrow for Michigan."
ReplyDeleteSaban has to shred that O apart
ReplyDeletewow. that's a killer fumble on the punt return
ReplyDeleteWhat a hit! Bama needed that!
ReplyDeleteALABAMA NOW HAS THE MOMENTUM...HIDEOUS PLAY
ReplyDelete"What was he thinking?" - Verne Lundquist
ReplyDelete"With the way that offense has been going." - Gary Danielson
"Oh man!" - Verne Lundquist
Auburn derp
ReplyDeleteoh Verne. "the 1st turnover of the game"?
ReplyDeleteAnd I was hoping Bama would pull a Lions-type of 2nd half implosion.
ReplyDelete/Sorry RJBO
Keith, I still want Alphonso Smith's head on a pike. Deion Branch should've done the Carlton Dance after that long bomb...
ReplyDeleteKeith, I still want Alphonso Smith's head on a pike.
ReplyDeleteI thought Gunther Cunningham was going to murder Smith on the sideline.
You have to turn that gift turnover into a TD, Bama...
ReplyDeleteMcElroy has been garbage today & pretty bad play calling
ReplyDelete27-21 Bama after 3 in Bryant-Denny.
ReplyDeleteMcElroy has been garbage today & pretty bad play calling
ReplyDeleteyou're calling a guy with 364 passing yards garbage?. Auburn's D has made some nice adjustments in the 2nd half
That 3rd quarter & red zone inefficiencies really holding this team back.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Comcast for adding ESPNU-HD. Now I can enjoy the squeaking shoes and whispers from the crowd during DePaul-CS Northridge in sparkling HD.
ReplyDelete#BackToAuburn-Alabama
Key red zone turnovers to keep Auburn in the game
ReplyDeleteBallsy. It pays off.
ReplyDelete"Oh my goodness."-Verne
ReplyDeleteHoly...max protection 4th down play works
ReplyDeleteVery ballsy of Chizik & Auburn going for that 4th and 3. That's a BCS Championship clinching call. #GaryDanielson
ReplyDeleteTouchdown Lutzenkirchen! WOW AUBURN!
ReplyDeleteLUTZENKIRCHEN!!! TOUCHDOWN AUBURN!!!
ReplyDeleteA PAT will give them the lead. This really is the 2009 Iron Bowl in reverse.
Bama implosion complete.
ReplyDeleteVerne Ives: "Gene Chizik. That's a little easier to pronounce."
ReplyDeleteBama needs to go back to basics. Running the football.
ReplyDeleteWith Julio Jones & Darius Hanks on the bench, they have no choice but to run.
ReplyDeleteTim Brando is quite excited on Twitter right now.
ReplyDeleteAwful penalty
ReplyDeleteIllegal shift on Bama after picking up 3rd and inches. It's all bad for the Tide now.
ReplyDeleteVerne: "He's got it, at least according to the unofficial yellow line." Drink.
ReplyDeleteGeez Ingram. #AhmadBradshaw
ReplyDeleteHe had a man wide open
ReplyDeleteMcElroy's hurt.
ReplyDeletewow. killer sack by Auburn. and McElroy is hurt to boot
ReplyDeleteIt's either a shoulder or concussion, that was just a nasty slam
ReplyDeleteAnd there goes McElroy's NFL chance.
ReplyDeleteThat is why all German suplexes should be left to WWE wrestlers.
ReplyDeleteYikes.
ReplyDeleteBrutal punt.....
ReplyDeletePunt derp
ReplyDeletethat was about the worst punt ever. let the Saban to Dallas rumors commence!
ReplyDeleteIt'll be all up to A.J. McCarron (if Bama manages to stop Auburn).
ReplyDeleteDanny Wuerfel nods knowingly at McElroy’s hair pattern.
ReplyDeleteShort!
ReplyDeletePunt this ball.
wow. what an unusual play call to get the 1st
ReplyDeleteWOW!
ReplyDeleteGutsy. Ballsy. It works again.
Verne: "5 on the shot cock...play clock."
ReplyDeleteOne more first down should win the game for Auburn.
ReplyDeletethis is why you save your 2nd half timeouts, kids...
ReplyDeleteOne of the Bama players went Marcus Vick on Cam Newton's knee.
ReplyDeleteAlabama will have one last chance!
ReplyDeleteNeeded that stop. #CaptainObvious
ReplyDeleteHeh. The footage of Saban Going Bo Pelini-to-Taylor Martinez on McCarron.
ReplyDeleteGotta corral that pick.
ReplyDelete@RJBO: What did Danielson say now. He's all white noise to me when he speaks.
ReplyDeleteI think the Bama receivers were purposely trying to throw this game. Their hands turned into stone.
ReplyDeleteAuburn wins it. Wow.
ReplyDeleteKeith, Danielson was basically regurgitating E. Gordon Gee's philosophy: "This is why I feel that the Big Conferences deserve all tiebreakers and all benefits of the doubt when they play for the National Championship. The Little Guys don't have to get over this Alabama hurdle. I'm sorry."
ReplyDeleteI'm really rooting for Spurrier to bust the BCS
ReplyDeletelet 2006 go, RJBO...
ReplyDeleteRooting for Spurrier. I guess there's a first time for anything. #GOGAMECOCKS!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteKris, I would have to let Tim Brando go first...
ReplyDeleteI'm going to eat some leftovers. Talk to everyone when Arizona-Oregon kicks off.
ReplyDeletehaha RJBO
ReplyDeletei'll be back later
ReplyDeleteI'll be flipping between Zona-Oregon & the Cuse skull-stomping Michigan in the Legends Classic.
ReplyDeleteBack at 7.
Holy shit. Cal scored 5 points in the 1st Half against Notre Dame.
ReplyDeleteTennessee-Villanova running late; ESPN should pre-empt Rockets-Bobcats on the Deuce for Zona-Oregon (4:11 PST kick) if this game goes any longer.
Zona-Oregon's gonna start on ESPN Classic.
ReplyDelete53 fouls, 69 free throws in Tennessee-Villanova.
ReplyDeleteDoris Burke: "I thought those were Fran (Fraschilla's) career numbers."
I'm surprised at how Tennessee pulled away from a good Villanova team late. 78-68 Vols. #OffToArizona-Oregon
ReplyDeleteUh, here we go again?
ReplyDeleteGeorgia Tech's gonna have a chance at a "Kennesaw State forgetter" victory against Syracuse tomorrow in the Legends Classic. #MichiganWillLoseBy35
ReplyDeleteArizona needed that TD.
@ Keith: I did not see that game so I can't comment on it. Although from what I know about Temple this year, we'll be seeing them in March. Same with Cal.
ReplyDeleteI did not see all of the Villanova game tonight against Tennessee, but beating them would have been nice. Oh well. Can't win them all, I guess. At least they did not lose to Bucknell or Marist or Boston University.
Easy TD for Oregon. Paulson was wide open.
ReplyDeleteDefenses not required in Eugene.
ReplyDeleteSeth Davis and two people I've never heard of doing Syracuse-Michigan.
ReplyDeleteIf RJBO doesn't know the people with Seth Davis, then they're really nobodies. RJBO's useless knowledge knows no boundaries.
ReplyDeleteRJBO's useless knowledge knows no boundaries.
ReplyDeleteI resemble that remark!
Touchdown Maehl for Oregon.
LOL Holly Rowe. The rain was washing away her mascara.
ReplyDeleteNessler: "Holly, I'm glad you brought those galoshes of yours. The multi-colored, leopard print galoshes because it's pretty wet down there."
ReplyDelete#ResistingAGrimaceJoke
If only there was an arena football team in Oregon, then I could make some sort of joke.
ReplyDeleteInterception!
ReplyDeleteFoles with the arm punt.
ReplyDeleteOof.
ReplyDeleteWhat were you trying to do, Cliff Harris? Luckily, Oregon recovers.
ReplyDeleteA terrible helmet-to-helmet call against Arizona negates a Wildcats fumble. Yeesh.
ReplyDeleteKarma. At least Zona got the fumble here.
ReplyDelete31-29 Michigan at the half over #10 Syracuse. Dammit, I saw this movie yesterday....
ReplyDeleteFoles' Shaun Hill-esque fade pass on 3rd down causes Arizona to settle for a FG near halftime. 19-14 Cats.
ReplyDeleteRece Davis, a Bama grad, just said Cam Newton "earned his money today."
ReplyDeleteKNBR is replaying game 6 of NLCS.
ReplyDeleteThe Old Wedding Proposal during a timeout between two Syracuse Orange fans in Atlantic City. She said yes, I guess.
ReplyDeleteTouchdown Josh Huff! 85 yards!
ReplyDeleteWhoa, Sixers are only down 5 to the Heat in Miami. That would be a lulzy result.
ReplyDeleteSeth Davis has borrowed lines from Bill Raftery and Clark Kellogg so far tonight. If he plagiarizes Brando, the game goes off. #44-42'CuseLate
ReplyDeleteSixers 71, Heat 73 after 3.
ReplyDeleteThis has the potential of epic hilarity. The Heat are almost embarrassingly mediocre.
Seth Davis: "That's a Thanksgiving Turkey wing right there." Bleh.
ReplyDeleteBoneheaded play by Arizona. Beard misses the 42 yard FG, but Arizona jumps offsides for a 1st down.
ReplyDeleteWalk-in TD for Darren Thomas.
ReplyDeleteWow, Arizona.
ReplyDeleteI hope Oregon gets their asses handed to them in the NC game by Auburn.
ReplyDeleteGood effort by Michigan, but falls to #10 Syracuse 53-50. #WillStillFinish10thInTheBigTen
ReplyDeleteGreat catch by David Douglas!
ReplyDeleteHere comes Arizona!
ReplyDeleteWell at least we are getting an exciting end to this college football season.
Zendejas drills the FG. 27-22 Ducks.
ReplyDeleteSo much for any life for Arizona. Davis' TD makes it 34-22 Ducks.
ReplyDeleteArizona is not out of this game. But they need a touchdown. Now.
ReplyDeleteI just don't see Arizona stopping Oregon the rest of the game, especially with all of these flubs & penalties.
ReplyDeleteI'll talk to you guys tomorrow. I'll set up the live blog for the games tomorrow.
ReplyDelete3 and out for Arizona. Oof. They may need a turnover now.
ReplyDeleteI'll probably be gone most of tomorrow. I'm gonna go out and watch AnOSU stomp Michigan. If I don't smash my lapper in anger, I'll join you fellas later in the day.
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna stick around tonight and watch some of Boise-Nevada.
Wide ASS open Jeff Maehl on 4th and 9. Geez Zona.
ReplyDelete"Jeff Maehl, carrying the mail." - Brad Nessler
ReplyDeleteDAGGER!
ReplyDelete@Justin: With RJBO going MIA on our asses tomorrow, do you still want to live blog those games tomorrow? Maybe live blog the Bloomberg game then go with an open thread for the rest of the games.
ReplyDeleteThat'll be game.
ReplyDelete@ Keith: Yeah, that'll be fine with me. Thanks! ;-)
ReplyDeleteMIA? Oh, right.
ReplyDeleteOkay then. That's what we'll do. Talk to you guys tomorrow.
ReplyDelete/Heads out to the bar.
Way to melt down, Arizona.
ReplyDeleteHeh. Chip Kelly just realized that tryptophan is in turkey?
ReplyDeleteTouchdown David Roberts for Arizona.
Onside kick it, Zona.
ReplyDeleteBlackledge: "I think Oregon has as many uniform combinations as you have tie-pocket square combinations."
ReplyDeleteUnderway in Reno. #ESPN3
What a pick by George Iloka. Bad start for Kaepernick.
ReplyDeleteBoise State held to a FG. 3-0 Broncos.
ReplyDelete"Sideline analyst David Diaz-Infante?" #TonySiragusa
Rod Gilmore: "It's like a playoff day." #GordonGee
ReplyDeleteIt took me several hours, but I finally finished the post breaking down the official's blunder in the Flames-Flyers game earlier today.
ReplyDelete@ RJBO: Remember when Paul Maguire did that?
ReplyDelete/I am aware that is something we all tried to forget.
Young! Touchdown Boise State!
ReplyDelete17-0 Broncos. Unless things start changing, I think you can say goodbye to TCU's title hopes.
ReplyDeleteAfter the unusually long anti-virus scan, I'm back.
ReplyDeleteJust in time for Boise to go up 17-0 on "Little Sisters of the Poor: Reno Chapter."
I'll disavow any recollection of Paul Maguire's existence, unless he and Theismann are reunited on NFL-N.
Gotta get up at 8AM and get ready for tomorrow. See ya after the Michigan loss.
Whoa! I turn the game back on to see that Nevada has tied it at 24! WOW!
ReplyDeleteIs Nevada a BCS team if they win this?
I actually was on my way to sleep before the reverse TD.
ReplyDeleteNo on Nevada in the BCS.
DOUG MARTIN! YES!
HOLY SHIT DOUG MARTIN!!!!!!!
ReplyDelete"Was that a Rose Bowl run?" - Joe Tessitore. Great call, but there is 4:53 left in a 7 point game with Nevada still carrying 2 timeouts.
Nevada blew a great chance with Goal-to-Go on their last possession and had to settle for a FG. Boise immediately makes them pay.
ReplyDeleteKaepernick had his man but overthrew him.
ReplyDeleteNevada blows a timeout with the clock stopped because the play clock was winding down. They now have only 1 remaining for the final 4+ minutes in a game they trail by 7 by. Yikes.
ReplyDeleteKaepernick hooks up with Virgil Green for the 1st. Needed that.
ReplyDeletethis has been a hell of a football game
ReplyDelete
