Okay I have to make an confession. I won't be around for the majority of the day. Today is the opening day of pheasant season so I'll be going back to my home town to visit my father. I won't be hunting, but I will be at a party celebrating both the beginning of the pheasant season and the end of the harvest season. All crops in the area that I grew up in have been harvested, so the farmers in the area like to celebrate the end of the season. That's what I'll be doing. I will be back though for the regular Sunday NFL live blog. That shouldn't stop you though from enjoying today's slate of college football games. So enjoy the game, leave comments, and don't be a troll.
Must List and Announcing Schedule
Go Huskies!
ReplyDelete/I can't find a stream that is not going to fill me with spam
//Listening to WHLM Radio.
I'll be here for about an hour, then I have to leave.
ReplyDeleteDueling punts to start the game. Mercyhurst ball at their own 35 with 10:35 left in the 1st.
ReplyDelete61-yard touchdown run for Mercyhurst.
ReplyDelete7-0 Lakers.
I can't believe the Wolverines actually got a turnover, let alone a scoop-and-score. #Hater
ReplyDelete"Gordon picks it up & the GPS says endzone."- Chris Martin
ReplyDelete26-yard field goal for Bloomsburg. Good.
ReplyDelete7-3 Mercyhurst.
Pass interference called on a pass that was 15 yards over the head of the Mercyhurst WR. That was 3rd down. And figures the next play is a touchdown.
ReplyDelete"The Lakers have stunned the Huskies." - Jim Doyle
14-3 Mercyhurst.
Bad comparison between Braylon Edwards & Roy Roundtree, Chris Martin. Roundtree didn't drop that wide open TD.
ReplyDelete3rd & 17 Bloomsburg. This could have started better.
ReplyDeleteDraw? Oof.
ReplyDeleteFUMBLE ON THE PUNT!!! BLOOMSBURG BALL!!!!!!!!!!!
QUITEH!!!!!!! TOUCHDOWN BLOOMSBURG!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDelete14-10 Mercyhurst with 1:49 left in the 1st.
Franklyn Quiteh is a freshman running back who is leading all of Division II in rushing yards for the season. I don't know much about scouting D2 players for NFL Drafts, but if he keeps this up over the next 2-3 years, I wonder if he'll get an NFL shot.
Michigan actually forced a team to a FG????? 14-3 Wolverines.
ReplyDeleteSee Tennessee. This is what happens when a Simms kid isn't playing. Good thinks happen.

ReplyDeleteIf anyone is bored with the morning games and want to listen to what I'm listening to, here is the link to the radio stream. It is the local Bloomsburg radio broadcast so the announcing is obviously with a slight bias, but these guys are decent listen, imho.

End of 1 in Erie. 14-10 Mercyhurst.
ReplyDeleteMercyhurst inside the Bloomsburg 5. Bleh.
ReplyDelete"Good to hear Timmy B's voice."-Craig Bolerjack
ReplyDeleteSpeak for yourself, Craig.
Touchdown. 21-10 Mercyhurst.
ReplyDeleteIt's only Purdue, but I'm not used to Michigan forcing 3-and-outs. #It'sEarly
ReplyDeleteGood grief this is shaping up into an arena game. Now Bloomsburg is driving with the football, inside Mercyhurst 43, but facing a 3rd and 3.
ReplyDeleteIncomplete.
ReplyDeletePunt blocked. Mercyhurst returns it to the Bloomsburg 35.
/Should have went for it
INTERCEPTED!!!!!!!!!!! VINCE BROWNING!!!!!!!!!!!! YES! YES! YES!
ReplyDeleteGeez Denard. Throws the Pick-6 in the Red Zone and whiffs on the tackle attempt.
ReplyDeleteYou guys enjoy yourselves. I have to leave now, I'll talk to you tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteEric Collins: "The Boilermakers with some Hope." Where's Wayne Larrivee?
ReplyDeleteOur leading WR got injured in the 1st quarter and has not returned from the game. Bleh.
ReplyDeleteIncomplete on 3rd down. Punt time.
See ya, Keith.
ReplyDeleteGordon with the Pick 6! 21-0 Vols and things are starting to get ugly at Rocky Top.
ReplyDeletePunt return touchdown Mercyhurst. 28-10 Mercyhurst in the 2nd.
ReplyDeleteNOW here comes the excitement in West Lafayette. Michigan fails on 4th and 1, Purdue with great field position, down 14-10.
ReplyDelete4th down coming up. I'd go for it.
ReplyDeleteFAKE!!!! COX!!!! 1ST DOWN!!!!! THANK GOODNESS!
ReplyDelete"If you can't punt, don't."
ReplyDeleteIndeed.
Purdue turns the bad RichRod decision on 4th and 1 into a FG. 14-13 Michigan.
ReplyDeleteTOUCHDOWN!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDelete28-17 Mercyhurst with 3:15 left in the 2nd quarter.
ReplyDeleteDenard Robinson (and Michigan in general) can't run today against this vaunted *cough*cough* Purdue defense.
ReplyDeleteEric Collins is fond of saying the runner gets "stoned."
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteTouchdown Mercyhurst. 35-17 Mercyhurst with 1:35 left in the 1st half.
ReplyDeleteBloomsburg's defense is supposed to be one of the best there is.
Denard Robinson with an 11 yard pooch punt. Purdue's gonna win this game easily. #Hater
ReplyDeleteMercyhurst has scored more points in this half against Bloomsburg than any team has scored in a game against Bloomsburg.
ReplyDelete35-17 Mercyhurst at halftime.
Why the Hell would Purdue call a timeout on 4th and 6 with 2 seconds left in their own end of the field? Michigan's D is bad, but not that bad...
ReplyDelete14-13 Michigan at the half after a Purdue Hail Mary-turned pick-turned lateral-after lateral to nowhere.
ReplyDeleteNice 4 second interview with Charissa Thompson, RichRod.
TD Vinson Smith after the Purdue muffed punt, but Michigan Ndamukong Suh's the XP. 20-13 Wolverines.
ReplyDeleteEric Collins: "Left handed...left footed punt."
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteChris Martin after another Denard pick: "One thing Sweet 16 has shown, is that he will give away birthday presents."
ReplyDeleteHeh. Denard is gonna get the hook for Tate Forcier.
ReplyDeleteBloomsburg putting together an offensive drive late in the 3rd, but it is looking like it might be too little, too late.
ReplyDelete"Being bowl-eligible is like being an eligible bachelor. Doesn't automatically mean you're married the next day." - Dave Lapham
ReplyDeleteQB draw touchdown Bloomsburg!
ReplyDelete/Now the score is a little less humiliating.
42-24 Mercyhurst.
ReplyDeleteA BU turnover followed by a quick score, and I would not be quick to rule us out, though losing both our leading WR and RB to injury this game will hurt a lot.
Mercyhurst to midfield. Geez. Who swapped the Bloomsburg defense with the Michigan defense?
ReplyDeleteIf Purdue had even a halfway decent and healthy QB, they would've had an easy TD on 3rd down.
ReplyDeleteDenard back in at QB after the 3 and out on the last possession by Forcier.
ReplyDeleteMercyhurst is in BU territory. A turnover is needed. Now.
ReplyDeleteBack-to-back Personal fouls on Michigan after a drive to the Red Zone. Good God.
ReplyDeleteDenard fumbles. Purdue ball. #PutInForcier! #NotReally
ReplyDeleteNot sure why Mercyhurst just threw 3 straight passes in this situation, all of which fell incomplete.
ReplyDelete32-yard fielder is BLOCKED! 12:03 left, Bloomsburg trails 42-24. 18-point deficit. Amazing this game is not over.
@ RJBO: #Hater
ReplyDeleteAt least Purdue has their own Robinson at QB making terrible decisions. Throws a pick right to James Rogers.
ReplyDeleteTOUCHDOWN BLOOMSBURG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHahaha Justin.
ReplyDeleteForcier is now back in there for Michigan.
Bloomsburg going for 2. Butler is stopped just short on the carry.
ReplyDelete42-30 Mercyhurst.
Michigan leads 20-16 at the end of 3 Quarters. I'm getting the "How will they blow this?" feeling I normally get when I watch the Lions.
ReplyDeleteNot sure why we went for 2 there. Kick the PAT and make it an 11-point game.
ReplyDeleteOH! Mercyhurst had a wide open receiver down the field but the QB couldn't find his man in bounds! 3rd & 6 Mercyhurst. This is effing huge.
ReplyDeleteCrap. Diving catch for a 1st down.
ReplyDeleteWR pass. To the 1 yard line.
ReplyDeleteHoly shit Broekhuizen. Brutal attempt at a 42 yard FG.
ReplyDeleteAnd touchdown. 48-30 Mercyhurst
ReplyDelete8:04 left, but Bloomsburg can't get a defensive stop for the life of them. Very uncharacteristic of them.
Of course. Kick return to midfield.
ReplyDelete/I hate it when my teams tease me like this.
Oh geez. Overthrow of a wide open WR by 5 yards. That sounded like a sure TD.
ReplyDeleteTOUCHDOWN BLOOMSBURG!!!!!!
ReplyDelete/Until our defense gets a stop, I'm not jumping up and down.
6:27 left in Erie. 49-37 Mercyhurst
ReplyDeleteMike Shanahan thinks RichRod should pick a QB and stick with him. Denard back in for Michigan.
ReplyDeleteONSIDE KICK BLOOMSBURG RECOVERS!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhy on earth was Mercyhurst not playing the onside kick there? Geez.
ReplyDeleteOfficials conference. No one is quite sure why.
ReplyDeleteStop with the Musical QBs RichRod!!!!
ReplyDeleteMercyhurst ball. Huh?
ReplyDeleteBall didn't touch the ground is the ruling? That's a rule?
Why would Mercyhurst even try and pass here? Incompletion stops the clock.
ReplyDeleteMichigan-Purdue is a freaking joke. 10 turnovers, 5 QBs used combined. Georgia-Auburn can't start fast enough.
ReplyDelete3rd and 25. Mercyhurst throws a 35 yard completion.
ReplyDeleteThat's been this game.
56-37 Mercyhurst with 3:28 left in the game.
ReplyDeleteMercyhurst Lakers, the 2010 PSAC Champions.
Good thing Bloomsburg is likely a playoff team.
56 points is the most points Bloomsburg has given up since the 2000 National Championship game.
ReplyDeleteFD Denard to Koger! Michigan needed that, up by 4 late in the 4th.
ReplyDeleteWow Northwestern! Driving on Iowa, down 3 with 90 or so seconds left.
ReplyDeleteWisconsin 76 Indiana 13. Yikes.
ReplyDeleteAnd, Bucky the Badger has left the stadium.
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteIt's a final. 56-37 Mercyhurst wins the 2010 PSAC Championship.
ReplyDeleteD2 playoffs selection show is tomorrow at 3 on ESPNNEWS.
I don't get ESPNNEWS and I probably have a meeting that time tomorrow anyway.
Touchdown Northwestern! But Dan Persa is hurt.
ReplyDeleteWildcats scored too quickly. #Millen
Touchdown Northwestern! Iowa will get the ball with about 70 seconds left, though.
ReplyDeleteTouchdown Michigan! Hopkins!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for Wisconsin to put 91 on the Wolverines next Saturday....
Ooh, nearly a killing Stanziball!
ReplyDeleteBloomsburg should still make the tournament, but there is no way they will be one of the top 2 teams and get a first round bye, something they would have had with a win (they started the day ranked #2 in the Super-Regional).
ReplyDeleteAnd, Indiana scores to draw within 56!
ReplyDeleteStanzi nearly gets picked again! 4th down for Iowa.
ReplyDeleteAnd, we have 80 in Wisconsin!
Geez, Wisconsin. 83 points.
ReplyDeleteFD MCNUTT!!!
ReplyDeleteStanzi is sacked! Iowa calls their last timeout.
ReplyDeleteAnd, it's mercifully over in Wisconsin. Badgers absolutely destroy the Hoosiers, 83-20, tying a modern day Big 10 record for points scored in a game.
ReplyDeleteDamn. I still can't believe that Michigan didn't allow an offensive TD. Purdue's shitty QB scenario has to do with that. #Hater
ReplyDeleteTOUCHDOWN MINNESOTA WITH :19 TO PLAY!!!!
ReplyDeleteN'Western owns Iowa. Hawkeyes virtually eliminated from Big 10 Championship contention as Chelsea Dagger plays in Evanston.
ReplyDeleteAnd, Iowa's Big 10 title hopes just evaporated with that loss.
ReplyDeleteIf that Bloomsburg game was painful, I dread how painful this PSU-anOSU game is going to be.
ReplyDelete/Good thing I have a shitload of work to do
South Florida defeats Louisville 24-21 in OT to become bowl eligible for the 6th consecutive season.
ReplyDeleteAnd, Cam Newton will get the start for Auburn vs. Georgia
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteCan CBS get out of Ole Miss-Tennessee? Kenny Rogers would pay $180,000 for this game to be switched out....
ReplyDeleteApparently I won't be privileged to supporting a team that plays a good game on defense today.
ReplyDeleteGO GEORGIA!!!!! #TCUInTheBCSTitleGame
ReplyDeleteRuptured achilles for Persa. He done.
ReplyDeleteOuch. I liked Dan Persa, save for the puns announcers dug up.
ReplyDeleteGeorgia's "Baccari Rambo" with a personal foul. That sounds like a pseudonym for when rock stars check into hotels.
ReplyDeleteJeff Carter has signed an 11-year, $58M extension with the Flyers. That could have been worse. Much worse, in fact.
ReplyDeleteReview gives a TD run to Cam Newton. Worth every penny. #rumor #innuendo
ReplyDeleteBrent and Kirk have an obsession with mentioning that McGloin is from Scranton, PA.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDelete"You keep watching your game, I'll be watching games all across the country." - Robert Flores
ReplyDeleteMCGLOIN!!!
ReplyDeleteTOUCHDOWN PENN STATE!
ReplyDeleteHere's a stat for you. That is the 1st TD pass a Joe Paterno coached team has ever scored in Columbus, Ohio.
"Buckeyes a three touchdown favorite, according to Bodog." - Brent Musburger, avid gambler.
ReplyDeleteCan someone count in the SEC? Going for it on 4th and 1, Georgia broke the huddle with too many men. Luckily, they got the timeout before the penalty.
ReplyDeleteAJ GREEN! TOUCHDOWN GEORGIA!
ReplyDeleteI like this McGloin kid. #Musburger'd
ReplyDeleteNice run by Redd.
ReplyDeleteMcGloin is having his way with the Ohio State defense thus far.
Verne: "That news update was for the benefit of all of those who might've been stuck on a cruise ship south of San Diego and didn't know about Cam Newton."
ReplyDeleteI like McGloin a lot better than Bolden thus far. It's not that Bolden is a bad QB, that's not true, but McGloin gives this team and this offense a personality that they did not have with Bolden, a naturally shy and quiet person.
ReplyDeleteNewton is picked off by Baccari Rambo.
ReplyDeleteTouchdown Chapas! Georgia leads!
ReplyDeleteAuburn's secondary is an absolute garbage fire.
Brent: "(McGloin) looks up and checks himself out on the big screen."
ReplyDeleteTOUCHDOWN MOYE!!!!
ReplyDeleteTOUCHDOWN MOYE!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is Moye better than the Bloomsburg game.
And for the first time ever, Penn State has scored 2 TDs in a game against Columbus. And after getting 0 passing TDs in the Horseshoe before this game, McGloin has 2 on the day.
Brent: "The kid with moxie's got a pair!"
ReplyDelete"We've got an underdog howling, and I mean howling...."
Suffice to say I didn't see this one coming.
ReplyDeleteThis is Moye better than the Bloomsburg game. #Brando
ReplyDeleteMario Fannin was Wide Open for an easy TD and dropped it.
Justin, I chalked up McGloin's successes against Michigan as just going up against a Practice Squad-level defense. To say he's been impressive against AnOSU would be an understatement.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great grab by AJ Green!

ReplyDeleteSDSU leads TCU 14-0;
ReplyDeleteGeorgia leads Auburn 21-7. #GettingCloserToBoiseState-LSUTitle
So, uh, this is really happening.
ReplyDeleteI think Penn State and Bloomsburg may have switched identities for the day. Penn State is playing like I expected Bloomsburg to play and Bloomsburg played like I expected Penn State to play.
San Diego State 14, TCU 0. Go SDSU.
ReplyDelete/Boise for BCS'd
The Penn State wrestling team was on campus for a match last night.....I wonder if the football teams used that opportunity to swap identities or something?
ReplyDeleteWell isn't that the impossible trivia question, Brent.
ReplyDeleteBrent: "The kid...the gunslinger as one of his teammates calls him..."
ReplyDeleteSDSU's lead now down to 14-7, TCU with a phenomenal punt return for Kerley...sliced in half by a personal foul.
ReplyDeleteI criticize Paterno a lot, but I like his aggressiveness in this game.
ReplyDeleteTD TCU, but the XP is no good. SDSU leads 14-13 near the end of the 1st.
ReplyDeleteAnOSU needed that stop.
ReplyDeleteNot sure why you go the outside on that, but I still like that decision, even if it did not pay off.
ReplyDeleteOooh. McGloin's hurt?
ReplyDeleteHerbstreit: "Unless that baby's broke, nothing's gonna stop #11 in white today."
3 and out for Ohio State after failed 4th down attempt.
ReplyDeleteFrom what I'm seeing, most PSU fans on the internet did not like that previous decision to go for it. In large part I think it is because I believe in a more aggressive football philosophy.
TCU misses a FG; still trails SDSU 14-13.
ReplyDeleteI wish I got Versus.
ReplyDeleteTed Robinson's doing the game on Versus instead of Beninati. #ThereIsAGod
ReplyDeleteTouchdown TCU! 20-14 Horned Frogs.
ReplyDeleteHoly shit Utah. Down 28-3 to Notre Dame? Bleh.
ReplyDeleteMcGloin overthrew that one.
ReplyDeleteGo Aztecs!
ReplyDeleteTOUCHDOWN AUBURN!
ReplyDeleteTied at 21 on the Plains.
ReplyDelete3 great games on at the same time.
Danielson: "Bo knows talent." Bleh.
ReplyDeleteDalton to Kerley for the Horned Frogs TD! 27-14 TCU
ReplyDeleteYou've got to tackle Herron in space short of a FD, Nittany Lions. #PennStateFanForADay
ReplyDeleteTouchdown Dalton to Kerley. 34-14 TCU near halftime as order is restored in Fort Worth.
ReplyDelete1st and goal at the 3 for anOSU.
ReplyDeleteTouchdown Ohio State.
ReplyDeleteA 96 yard TD drive after halftime for the Buckeyes. #Ruh-roh
ReplyDeleteTony Barnhart on CBS at the half with the soliloquy about the Cam Newton scenario.
ReplyDeleteND smashes Utah 28-3. #smudgesTCU'sresume
ReplyDeleteLooks like a stinger for Stephfon Green.
ReplyDelete"The Cam Newton case exposes the worst in human behavior." - Tony Barnhart
ReplyDeleteI think that is taking it a tad too far.
/Understatement'd
Pick six. Ohio State leads.
ReplyDeleteOkay, maybe going for it on 4th down at the end of the 1st half was not such a good idea after all.
/hindsight'd
A measure of revenge for Devon Torrance. Touchdown Buckeyes on the Pick-6. Bleh.
ReplyDeleteONSIDE KICK BY AUBURN! TIGERS RECOVER!
ReplyDeleteNow the refs will review if the ball went 10 yards or not. More griping about replay from Verne & Gary.
ReplyDeleteSmith needs to make that catch. Unacceptable drop on his part.
ReplyDeleteCalls stands on the Plains. Sean Payton call works for Gene Chizik after halftime.
ReplyDeletePenn State is completely falling apart in the 3rd quarter.
ReplyDeleteHow do you not sack Pryor there?
ReplyDeleteThank goodness that quarter of pain and torture is over.
ReplyDeleteThanks for nothing with that Johnny Moseley groin shot, Skating With the Stars commercial.
ReplyDeleteTouchdown McCalebb! Auburn leads!
ReplyDeleteHahaha Pryor!
ReplyDeleteINTERCEPTED BY MALCOLM WILLIS!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a catch by Chris Durham! Georgia needed that to stay in this game.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteThere is no way that Ohio State will pass the ball on this drive.
ReplyDeleteHolding negates a 40-yard run. Haha.
ReplyDeleteTouchdown Ealey! Tied at 28 on the Plains!
ReplyDeleteTouchdown Georgia!
ReplyDeletetied again at Auburn
What was that?
ReplyDeleteThe Penn State defense played that as well as they could. That's about one of the luckiest bounces you will ever see in a football game.
ReplyDeleteAuburn leads again!
ReplyDeleteGame over in Columbus.
ReplyDeleteCan't say I am too disappointed about that one. I never expected Penn State to beat Ohio State.
