Foul Ball: Cliff Lee Dominates, The Twins Choke Again, Oh Yeah Doc Halladay No-Hits the Reds

Philadelphia 4 Cincinnati 0, 1-0 Series Lead for Philly: Yeah that just happened. Roy "Doc" Halladay became the first person since Don Larsen to throw a perfect game/no-hitter in the playoffs. If it wasn't for a fifth inning Jay Bruce walk, Halladay would have thrown a perfect game. At the end of the day, Halladay dominated the NL's best offensive team striking out eight in the process. Halladay even had an RBI in the game off of Reds starting pitcher Edison Volquez. Quite the night for Doc Halladay.

Tampa Bay 1 Texas 5, 1-0 Series Lead for Texas: In the battle between left-handers, Cliff Lee and the Texas Rangers got the best of David Price and the Tampa Bay Rays. Lee was in trouble early has he loaded the bases, but got out of the jam and new looked back. Lee pitched seven innings giving up five hits and one run off a Ben Zobrist home run. David Price on the other hand gave up nine hits, five runs in 6 2/3 innings. Bengie Molina had a big day (literally) driving in two runs and homering. Nelson Cruz also homered in the game for the Rangers.

Minnesota 4 NY Yankees 6, 1-0 Series Lead for NYY: The Twins are probably asking themselves, what can we do to beat these guys? Because the Twins haven't beaten the Yankees in the playoffs in a long time. On Wednesday night the Twins jumped out to a 3-0 lead only to see Francisco Lirano blow the lead in the sixth inning. The Twins would tie the game when CC Sabathia walked a hitter with the bases loaded. In the seventh inning, the Twins blew the tie, when Mark Teixeira hit a two-run home run and the Yankees wouldn't look back from there. I don't see how it's possible for the Twins to win a game against New York, led alone the series.
