Foul Ball: Rings, Terrible Bullpens & Bad Walk-Up Music

New York Yankees 7 Anaheim 5: The Yankees collected their World Series rings, gave Nick Swisher and Hideki Matsui fake rings only to fool them, and then beat the Angels behind Andy Pettitte. Andrew Pettitte went six innings giving up no runs, five hits, and striking out six. The Captain and Nick Johnson each homered in the game.

Walk-Up Music Fail: Yankee's DH Nick Johnson used some curious walk-up music during his at-bats at the Yankees opening day. Miley Cyrus' "Party in the U.S.A." was Johnson's walk-up music. Thankfully he has an excuse why he uses that music. "My daughter loves it," Johnson said. "I'll be rocking with Miley until my daughter tells me otherwise. It's all up to her." Whew! It's a tribute to his daughter, otherwise that would be some creepy walk-up music for a 30-year old baseball player.

Detroit 6 Kansas City 5: Kansas City's bullpen is terrible. And that is an understatement. Once again the Royals bullpen blew a lead and allowed another team to come-from-behind to beat them. The Royals ruffed up Dontrelle Willis for five innings and then imploded in the seventh inning. Three Kansas City relievers gave up six runs to the Tigers blowing the lead and the game. It's going to be another long season for the Royals.

Toronto 4 Chicago White Sox 2: Once again a Toronto pitcher took a no-hitter late into the game, only to lose it in the late innings. Unlike the opening day though, the Blue Jays still managed to hold on for the victory. Rickey Romero took a no-hitter into the eighth inning only to have it broken up by former Blue Jay Alex Rios. Blue Jays still won the game.

Baltimore 6 Tampa Bay 8, 10 innings: The only team with a worse bullpen than Kansas City's is the Baltimore Orioles. Jim Johnson blew the lead in the eighth inning giving up five runs to the Rays. Then in the tenth inning, Orioles reliever Matt Albers gave up a game-winning three-run home to Carlos Pena. The O's have lost five straight games and have started the season 1-7.

Seattle 3 Oakland 0: A pitchers duel between Brett Anderson and Doug Fister was the theme of the night. Milton Bradley finally ended the scoreless innings with a three-run bomb off of Brad Zeigler in the eighth inning. Oakland's listless offense only reached base five times in the game off of three hits and two walks. The Seattle offense wasn't much better until the Bradley homer in the eighth.

Florida 8 Cincinnati 10, 11 innings: All five Reds wins this season have come off of their final at-bat. Last night Joey Votto knocked in the winning run in the eleventh with two outs. The Reds won the game despite blowing a 6-1 lead. Brando Phillips had four hits in the game, including knocking in the insurance run in the 11th inning.

Create a Caption: That's not very nice.

Video of the Night: Hideki Matsui received a warm welcome from the Yankee fans.
