With the games this week not all that interesting, I wouldn't be disappointed if no one watched college football today. You will miss the epic New Mexico State @ Ohio State game, but it's your loss. Also today is Halloween, so I do expect the majority of people partaking in some drunken debauchery. I probably won't be around much for the night games, but come on by during the day and discuss today's college football action.
Here's the Announcing Schedule and Must List
Mourning Games:
When Corso made his predictions today, he jumped on the back of a motorcycle with the mascot head and waved to the crowd.
- There is at least one game to keep an eye on this mourning in the Iowa vs. Indiana game. Iowa is undefeated and playing at home against a 4-4 Indiana team. Indiana is already leading 7-0 after one quarter and Rickey Stanzi has already gotten his one interception out of the way. I expect Iowa to complete some sort of crazy comeback in this game.
- "Hung over from the vapors of success."-Mark Jones, they are hung over, but not from success.
- 21-7 Indiana over Iowa at half. Now Iowa has comeback in every game this season except one. And Indiana has blown leads this season, including a 25-point lead to Northwestern last week. So this game is far from over now.
- If your not watching the Iowa-Indiana game, then your missing something special. The 2nd half alone has been crazy. I'm very surprised a Big Ten game would be so exciting. 21-14 Indiana in the 3rd quarter.
- Well after being down by 10 points to start the 4th quarter, Iowa has come back to beat Indiana 42-24. Rickey Stanzi threw two deep passes to put Iowa ahead in the game. Then Iowa scored two rushing touchdowns for icing on the cake. I wasn't convinced before this game that Iowa was a team of destiny, but after watching this game, I'm convinced.
Announcement: I will be in and out for the rest of the day going to bar then watching the World Series. I will probably sporadically update this thread as the day goes on with mostly videos. So enjoy the rest of the day and please feel free to continue to leave comments.
- Like I said, I would update this thread with videos the rest of the day. Check out this one. Missouri's Jerrell Jackson makes an unbeilevable catch against Colorado.
- Another great catch today. Riley Cooper of Florida made this incredible catch to score a touchdown in the Florida-Georgia game.
- I really feel bad for UConn. Two weeks after teammate Jasper Howard was murdered, UConn was finally able to play a home game, only to have their hearts broken by Rutgers. Sorry for the poor quality of video, I will try and find a better one. Until then, enjoy this crazy play that catapulted Rutgers over UConn.
- O.K., next time we play college football on Halloween, can we please never see "special jersey's" again. Georgia was wearing uniforms that look exactly like Grambling's uniforms. Then here is Tennessee. They wore black jersey's with orange pants. This is Halloween run amok.

Did you see Lee on that motorcycle?
ReplyDelete@Jay, I saw that. You would have never known that the man had a stroke.
ReplyDelete7-0 Indiana after an early touchdown.
Touchdown Ole Miss
ReplyDeleteIt's too bad Houston Nutt forgot about Dexter McCluster or they could still be undefeated.
WHOA! Jim Tressel just called for the onside kick against New Mexico State.
ReplyDeleteTake it easy coach. What are you going to call next? A forward pass?
Every time I see Greg Paulus playing for Syracuse, I can't help but remember all those times he was tea bagged playing basketball.
ReplyDelete14-0 Indiana over Iowa
ReplyDeleteTime for another crazy Iowa comeback now.
Touchdown Iowa, 14-7 Indiana
ReplyDeleteThis is still the same Indiana that blew a 25-point lead to Northwestern last week.
@ 49er16: Sorry I won't be around much for college football this weekend. I might watch a few plays or so here and there and watch an end to a close game or 2, but after sleeping a ridiculous amount of time, I have a shitload of work I have to do, especially seeing as I am going to be doing the huge live blog tomorrow and I am watching and live blogging my Phillies tonight.
ReplyDeleteAlso @ 49er16: I'll send you those pics sometime this weekend.
I'm so ashamed Penn State is in the Big Ten. What a horrible conference.
ReplyDelete@JFein, don't worry about it. This is a busy weekend all around and lucky for us, this isn't the biggest college football weekend. I probably won't be around that much tonight.
ReplyDelete@JFein, I didn't expect a busy thread this weekend. I wrote as much in the Must List and at the top of this thread.
ReplyDeleteIowa fumbles the punt and now Indiana can score to end the half.
ReplyDeleteOfficials have to review that call. That was touchdown Indiana.
ReplyDeleteBad call, that should have been an Indiana touchdown.
ReplyDeleteNow they have the touchdown. 21-7 Indiana going to half.
ReplyDeleteCome on Indiana, hold on. We don't need a Big Ten getting embarrassed in the National Championship.
Stanzi had a receiver wide open and the ball was slowed down by the wind and intercepted.
ReplyDeleteI want Iowa to lose and we finish the season with 6 undefeated teams. Then we can finally drive a stake in the heart of the BCS.
ReplyDeleteWheels falling off for Iowa. Stanzi throws another interception deep in his own zone. Indiana can score here.
ReplyDeleteSTANZIBALL!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteINTERCEPTIONS!!!!!!! IOWA TOUCHDOWN!!!!!!!
ReplyDelete21-14 INDIANA
HOLY CRAP!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIOWA HAS NEW LIFE NOW. THIAT WAS A 14-POINT SWING.
That was huge. Iowa was going to be down 28-7, instead it's now 21-14 Indiana.
ReplyDeleteSome how Indiana is going to blow this game.
There goes the Iowa momentum. Now Indiana is back in scoring posistion.
ReplyDeleteWho knew a Big Ten game would be so exciting?
ReplyDeleteTOUCHDOWN INDIANA!
ReplyDeleteNOW IT'S 28-14 INDIANA
I'm with you Jay. I didn't think a Big Ten game would be so exciting.
ReplyDeleteThe call is reversed and Indiana misses the FG! Still 21-14 Indiana
ReplyDelete24-14 Indiana going into the 4th quarter. Does Iowa have what it takes to comeback, hold on.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to eat my lunch and enjoy the rest of this game.
ReplyDeleteHere comes the comeback. Touchdown Iowa
ReplyDelete24-21 Indiana with 13:03 left in the 4th.
And we thought this game couldn't get crazier?
ReplyDeleteAnd just like that, Iowa is leading.
ReplyDelete28-24 Iowa, this game has been incredible.
ReplyDeleteIowa isn't going to lose now. Their defense is too tough.
ReplyDeleteLike I said, Iowa's defense is too tough. Indiana QB throws an interception and gives Iowa great field posistion.
ReplyDeleteAnd just like that, Iowa has a 11 point lead, after starting the quarter down by 10.
ReplyDeleteO.K. I'm convinced. Iowa is a team of destiny.
ReplyDeleteI'm outta here for today, enjoy the games Keith.
ReplyDeleteHave fun, Jay. I'm going to watch a little bit of the Cal game then go out myself.
ReplyDeleteRiley already killing Cal with a fumble.
ReplyDeleteGood thing Arizona State's QB sucks worse than Riley.
ReplyDeleteHOLY CRAP RUTGERS AND CONNECTICUT!!!!! UCONN HAS A TD INSIDE THE LAST MINUTE TO TAKE THE LEAD AND THEN RUTERS HIT A DEEP BOMB FOR A TOUCHDOWN!!!!!!! AND THERE'S STILL 22 SECONDS LEFT!!!!!
ReplyDeleteJahvid Best with another incredible touchdown.
ReplyDeleteAlready 7-0 Florida.
ReplyDeleteTen bucks says Urban Meyer runs up the score on Georgia.
14-0 Cal!
ReplyDeleteWhere was this team against USC and Oregon?
With those Georgia uniforms, it looks like Florida is playing Grambling.
ReplyDelete17-14 Cal at the end of the 1st half.
ReplyDeleteAlso a lot of college marching bands playing Thriller this weekend. I love it.
I just wanted to say something real quick, AGHHHHHHHHHHH.
ReplyDeletePenn State is losing to Northwestern 10-3.
I watched a little bit of that Penn State game and just have to say, Oof.
ReplyDeleteDarryl Clark is horrible.
I'm ignoring football and watching Airplane!
ReplyDeleteBest movie ever.
@SSR- "No thank you. I take my coffee like my men. Black."
ReplyDeleteI love when the old lady hung herself because Ted's story was so boring and long.
ReplyDeleteOr when June Cleaver speaks "Jive"
ReplyDelete@ Keith: Great news! After nearly a year of doing this, I finally have my first sponsor!
ReplyDeletehttp://fireandyreidnow.blogspot.com/2009/10/and-now-message-from-my-new-sponsor.html
Yes, I know it was not working earlier, but I fixed it and it's working now.
Yes, D-Clark is completely atrocious.
ReplyDeleteJoey....do you like movies about gladiators?
ReplyDeleteCongrats and it was working for me earlier.
ReplyDeleteJoey..Have you ever seen a grown man naked.
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of something Mookie. My favorite mourning radio show here in California always do a radio marathon every year. One year they had their top 30 favorite "Airplane" moments. Some of the best radio I've ever listen to.
Everyone thought Airplane II sucked but I loved it. But Leslie Nielsen in Zucker movies are the best.
ReplyDeleteAgreed about Nielsen and Zucker movies. Totally disagree about Airplane II.
ReplyDeleteHey I know you, you're Kareem Abdul-Jabaar! You play basketball for the LA Lakers!
ReplyDeleteI just go an unwanted visit from my Mom, who's shopping in the area. As soon as she walked in the door she started complaining about the place not being clean.
ReplyDeleteNothing is dirty. All I had where a couple of beer cans on the counter top.
If she wasn't my mom, I would really despise her.
Cal is going to lose to Arizona State. Now I will go and kill myself.
ReplyDeleteCal somehow came from behind to win.
ReplyDeleteWin just one for the Zipper....
ReplyDeleteI've sent the live blog email if you want to come...
