Here's the announcing schedule, Pam Ward Chronicles, and the Must List for this week.
Mourning Games:
- Upset alert: Indiana is currently leading Michigan 17-14 in the 2nd quarter. Indiana has been very impressive so far on both offense and defense. And Michigan quarterback Tate Forcier has looked like a Freshman so far.
- Also Mississippi State is currently beating LSU right now in Baton Rouge. This season reminds me of the 07 season when no team wanted to be the 2nd ranked team in the nation. Besides Florida and Texas, everyone else is just average.
- Florida State is once again pulling their Dr. Jekell and Mr. Hyde act again. After thrashing BYU last week, the Noles are losing to South Florida. This is the first game that South Florida has played since losing quarterback Matt Grothe. B.J. Daniels has been very impressive replacing Grothe so far.
- An very unclassy sign was spotted in Happy Valley today during Gameday. I will just give you the link, instead of showing you the actual photo. It's that unclassy. It involves Erin Andrews so you no where this one is going.
- Michigan takes the lead behind a Tate Forcier touchdown. Then Indiana takes a 85-yard touchdown to give Indiana the 33-29 lead. Still 8:57 left in the game.
- Also here's the ugly throwback uniforms Oregon is wearing today. I still don't have any clue as to why Oregon is wearing throwbacks today. Via: Excuse Me For My Voice
- Fresno State once again traveled across the country only to lose. This time they traveled to Cincinnati to lose 28-20. Cincinnati had over 400 yards of total offense in the game.
- Michigan is going to escape with the 36-33 victory over Indiana. Tate Forcier threw a beautiful touchdown pass late the in the fourth quarter. Indiana was hosed by a horrible interception call with 2:00 minutes left in the game.
- Florida State continues to confuse the nation. One week after thrashing BYU, Florida St. lost a Matt Grothe less South Florida team, 17-7. Florida State fumbled the ball five times, four of those recovered by South Florida.
- I'm going to watch the Cal-Oregon game. Help me out by watching the rest of the games and leaving comments.
Afternoon Games:
- Here's video of Indiana coach Bill Lynch going crazy on the sidelines after a horrible interception call by the refs. Courtasey of JFein, we have a better video of the end of the Indiana-Michigan game.
- It's nice to be reminded again not to invest too much time in Cal. Once again they are crumbling to expectations and are getting destroyed by Oregon.
I JUST WANTED TO LET EVERYONE KNOW THAT I WAS ASKED TO MODERATE COMMENTS OVER AT DR. SATURDAY. I DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH I WILL BE ABLE TO UPDATE THIS THREAD FOR THE REST OF THE DAY. YOU CAN STILL LEAVE YOUR COMMENTS THOUGH.
Night Games:
- I'm trying to get the bad taste of the Cal blowout out of my mouth. Also some good news. Since more people have showed up at Dr. Saturday, I will spend more time on this thread for the night games. I will continue to comment over there, but I will spend more time updating this thread.
- So much for Florida players having the flu. Florida scored 31 points in the 1st quarter alone. Kentucky on the other hand, had negative yards in the first quarter.
- THAT'S IT! THIS OPEN THREAD IS OVER! TEBOW IS HURT! I PRAY HE NEVER GETS UP!
/GETS STRUCK BY LIGHTNING.
Thanks to JFein for finding the video. Here's St. Timmy getting knocked out in the Kentucky game.
- After a missed Iowa field goal, Penn St. leads 10-5 at halftime. Besides a long touchdown pass by Darryl Clark, Penn State has done nothing on offense.
- Notre Dame is barely beating Purdue at half 17-7. Notre Dame seems to be doing better without quarterback Jimmy Clausen. Dayne Crist has taken the majority of the snaps so far for the Irish and has done quite well.
ARE YOU READY?
ReplyDeleteWazzu flag sighting in Happy Valley.
ReplyDeleteIt amazes me everytime.
I'm getting the LSU-Miss St. game instead of the Kansas-Southern Miss game.
ReplyDeleteFor the mourning games, I'm going to switch back-and-forth between the Kansas-Southern Miss and FSU-South Florida.
ReplyDeleteTwo early touchdowns for Kansas and Indiana.
ReplyDeleteTouchdown Michigan. All tied in Ann Arbour.
ReplyDeleteDave Lapham is terrible.
ReplyDeleteTouchdown Southern Miss. All tied in Kansas.
ReplyDeleteWHAT A HIT IN THE FSU-SOUTH FLORIDA GAME!
ReplyDeleteTOUCHDOWN KANSAS
ReplyDeleteTOUCHDOWN INDIANA! 14-14 in Ann Arbour
ReplyDeleteI have to say this Indiana team is impressing me so far.
ReplyDeleteThe Indiana defense has been really impressive so far.
ReplyDeleteIndiana looks really good. They are in Michigan's red zone.
ReplyDeleteTate Forcier just threw an incredible stupid interception. Indiana is already in Michigan territory.
ReplyDeleteIU has to settle for the Field Goal. 20-14 Indiana. Also Florida St. has fumbled the ball twice in in South Florida's end zone.
ReplyDeleteTouchdown South Florida
ReplyDeleteTOUCHDOWN MICHIGAN. 21-20 MICHIGAN BEFORE HALFTIME.
ReplyDeleteFG is good and Indiana takes the lead at halftime.
ReplyDeleteAll the mistakes today by Michigan is killing me. When they show hightlights from this game, they should play the Benny Hill Show theme song in the background.
ReplyDeleteIU misses the FG, still 26-21 IU.
ReplyDeleteBoston College has actually scored 10 points today. That's a victory in itself.
ReplyDeleteFG's have finally caught up with Indiana. Michigan takes the lead.
ReplyDeleteMichigan gets the ball back with 5:35 left and down by 4.
ReplyDeleteFORCIER HAS DONE IT AGAIN!!!
ReplyDeleteMICHIGAN TAKES THE LEAD.
TOUCHDOWN MICHIGAN!!!!
ReplyDeleteMICHIGAN HAS THE 3 POINT LEAD WITH 3 MINUTES LEFT TO PLAY.
Did anyone else see IU coach Bill Lynch throw his chew at the sideline.
ReplyDeleteThe call stands and Michigan gets the ball back.
ReplyDeleteGO HUSKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWe won 28-14! It was not pretty and needed to force 3 turnovers on downs deep with CW Post driving deep in our territory, but my BU Huskies got the job done once again. That's why we're #4 in the nation, baby!
WHAT???? THAT INT CALL STANDS?!?!?!?!? How much is Rich-Rod paying these refs?
Congrats on the BU win. I'm going to watch the Cal-Oregon game. Keep me posted on any videos you find and leave comments on the games that you are watching.
ReplyDeleteOREGON FUMBLES THE KICKOFF!!!!
ReplyDeleteJFein, go to the Dr. Saturday live blog. I'm actually moderating the comments for Dr. Saturday.
ReplyDeleteDr. Saturday? Never heard of it.
ReplyDeleteBTW, Va. Tech recovered a Miami fumble and have the ball just outside the Miami 10.
It's a part of the Yahoo blogs.
ReplyDeleteMiami is looking like they might be over-matched in this one.
ReplyDeleteOof, Keith. I see Cal has once again shit all over themselves.
ReplyDeleteI guess no one is over here.....
ReplyDeleteI'm still hanging around.
ReplyDeleteI'm around JFein. I had to take a nap though.
ReplyDeleteI see where you are now.
ReplyDeleteHere's a little better one of the Indiana coach, Keith.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DabE11pRvuo
Thanks, JFein.
ReplyDeleteYou should spend more time over here ;-)
ReplyDeleteRutgers 34, Maryland 13
ReplyDeleteat least we'll be getting a top 5 draft pick, right?
I feel your pain, kt. Cal was blownout today at Oregon.
ReplyDeleteSorry ;-) I will never slander Pammy again.
ReplyDeleteok, i'm on Washington giving 9 to Stanford tonight...
ReplyDeleteits ok Keith....she has no business doing major college football play by play
ReplyDeleteFlorida scored 31 points in the 1st Quarter v Kentucky
ReplyDeleteYou going to be around tomorrow kt? I sent you the normal CIL e-mail.
ReplyDeletei'm actually going to be at the Ravens game, so I won't be around tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteHave fun then ;-) We will be watching the game with a close eye then.
ReplyDeleteBrock Huard is just as bad as Ray Bentley.
ReplyDeleteand Ray Bentley is just as bad as Bob Davie
ReplyDeleteThey are all bad. Herbstreit isn't exactly great, but he's better than the other crap ESPN throws out there.
ReplyDeleteno, Jay, Herbie's just not as ugly as ESPN's other commentators
ReplyDeleteI guess your right.......
ReplyDeleteI've decided that as of this morning the trio of Pasch/Spielman/Griese is the worst crew ESPN has.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunate because I used to like Pasch.
Bob Griese this morning said you shouldn't hit the hole too hard as a running back. WHAT?!
Jacory Harris was considered for a Heisman by those jokers and Spielman picked Cincinnati to be in the title game because he thinks they'll run the table.
Jones/Davie is bad but the trio from hell should be banned from the booth.
My dad said they sucked too.
ReplyDeleteSeattle is going to wear the fugliest jerseys in history tomorrow.
http://cdn0.sbnation.com/imported_assets/259671/32349909-4fa1b65b8ebb63aaa421053330b9b022.4abe96c8-full.jpg
Dennis Erickson is ready to go to the bar and get hammered.
ReplyDeleteI know....they are terrible.
ReplyDeleteFor no reason whatsoever I think Seneca can lead the Seahawks to victory tomorrow.
I hope Knapp continues exactly what Holmgren ignored and use Forsett more in the offense.
I loved what I saw from Forsett last week. Wishes he still played at Cal..........
ReplyDeleteAlso I was surprised Seattle went away from Forsett in the Niners game. The Niners defense couldn't stop him everytime he touched the ball.
The game was over by then.
ReplyDeleteI'm not impressed with Chicago's secondary so I think Seneca can pick apart Vasher and Tillman with John Carlson.
If we lose this game I think we're in big big trouble. Indy will beat us and that's 1-3.
Jacksonville should be a gimme but Arizona is not. Then after that it's Dallas once the bye week is over. Tomorrow is a must-win.
I hear you. After tomorrow's game, the Niners schedule doesn't get any easier. They play St. Louis next week, but they play Atlanta then go on the road to Indianapolis and Houston.
ReplyDeleteCome on Penn State you're the only Big Ten team I actually like.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you SSR. Then again, I live in Philly ;-)
ReplyDeletei despise State Penn...
ReplyDeleteDon't tell JFein that, kt.
ReplyDelete@SSR after looking at those Seahawks jerseys, I'm disappointed that my campaign to get my Fox affiliate to switch to the Bears/Seahawks game failed.
ReplyDeleteI must say, that after not being able to watch 3-straight PSU BTN games, it's good to finally be able to watch my Nittany Lions live on ABC.
ReplyDelete@JFein, did you sit in the rain this mourning?
ReplyDeleteun f'n believable...
ReplyDeleteto the State Penn fans...if you're going to do a white-out, shouldn't the team be wearing white too?
ReplyDeleteHow come you don't like Penn St, kt?
ReplyDelete@ kt1000: I almost did go to Penn State. PSU was the only other school that I applied to and I was accepted as a summer freshman. And me having just graduated high school, did not want to start college literally 2 weeks after I was done high school and miss the family vacation over the summer. I like the school, it is a really nice campus, and a whole lot of my high school friends go there.
ReplyDeleteI understand the State Penn jokes and all and a lot of the athletes there do stupid stuff (admissions obviously holds athletes to lower academic standards because I was only a summer freshman and I borderline excelled in high school), but they are a good team, JoePa is the man, and maybe I am biased, but I feel they are a different style and a different type of football team than the rest of the Big 10.
it basically goes back to JoePa canceling the Penn St-UMD series when he joined the Big 10.
ReplyDelete@ JFein Penn State's a good school, but they let the football team get away with far too much...and Iowa throws apick
ReplyDelete@ 49er16: No. The rain held out for the game, although the temperature was in the low 60s and I was wearing a sweatshirt all game. 20 minutes after I got back, it started raining.
ReplyDeleteI've done worse, though. Last year, I made it through a 30-degree playoff game with snow flurries. My toes were numb throughout the entire game and the hour after I got back inside. Walking back, instead of taking the shuttle, was in all seriousness the best idea I had that day....
@JFein, that's why I love living in California. We don't have to deal with snow flurries. The temperatures get to freezing sometimes, but never really that bad.
ReplyDeleteWow. JoePa has coached 24 father-son combos. Impressive.
ReplyDeleteI think JoePa has even coached some Grandfather-father-son combo's.
ReplyDelete@ 49er16: I like the snow! ;-)
ReplyDeletei made it through 3 1/2 quarters of today's Twerps game in a cold rain...
ReplyDelete@JFein, I only like the snow when I'm snowboarding in Tahoe ;-)
ReplyDeleteAs a kid, I sat through a snow game at Penn St. One of my favorite moments.
ReplyDeleteFact: On gamedays, Beaver Stadium is the 3rd largest city in Pennsylvania.
ReplyDeletePhilly and Pittsburgh and surrounding suburbs may be in PA, but aside from those 2 cities, Pennsylvania really is a mostly rural state
SHUT DOWN THE WORLD! TEBOW IS HURT!
ReplyDeletePenn St. is really in the middle of nowhere. And the crowds are huge for gameday's there.
ReplyDelete@ Jay: During that game, I was shivering and jumping up and down the whole game trying to stay warm, but as I sat at the stadium today watching a somewhat lackluster performance against one of the conference's weaker teams, I realized how fun that playoff game and that experience really was. Hopefully, I'll be able to relive it this year!
ReplyDeletei believe this camera position for ND-Purdue is in Indianaoplis
ReplyDeleteFact: However, Penn State has the lowest percentage of students given the opportunity to purchase season in tickets in the Big Ten, and one of the lowest in the nation at just 25.25%. Conversely, Ohio State University, with a student section of 29,000 tickets (in a smaller stadium nonetheless) has seats for 57.16% of their students.
ReplyDeleteIf BU makes the playoffs JFein, I will meet you in Bloomsburg.
ReplyDelete@ kt1000: That I did not know. Then again, the BU student section is only about 25% of our side of the stadium......
ReplyDelete@ 49er16: We really do have a beautiful stadium! And there's probably no doubt we'll make the playoffs, we're currently #4 in the nation, it's just a matter of how far we will go. I really hope they make the semifinals. It would be an honor to host Pammy in our press box.....
@Jay a FARN playoff meetup!
ReplyDelete@JFein i'm just real bitter right now...best to treat me like you do any obnoxious drunk
ReplyDeleteseriously, Urban is talking to Tim Tebow's parents... while the freaking game is going on??????!!!!!
ReplyDelete@kt1000, it's okay to be bitter. I'm still bitter about Cal.
ReplyDelete@Jay, quite commenting under my name;-)
/signs you out
@ kt1000: Who did the Twerps lose to this week? Appalachian State?
ReplyDelete@JFein we lost to Rutgers 34-13.....19 days to Midnight Madness
ReplyDelete@ kt1000: I often wonder if the Twerps would be able to defeat Cheyney in a football game.
ReplyDelete/Worst team in the PSAC'd.
//Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference'd.
SAFETY IOWA!!!!!
ReplyDeleteDamn you Clark!
ReplyDelete@JFein i'd take Cheyney and the points.
ReplyDelete/Maryland football sucks
//Fire Ralph Friedgen Now!!
That creamery at Penn State is one of the best in the nation.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, the flavor Peachy Paterno does exist.
should I be disturbed that Brent and I are drinking the exact same kind of beer right now?
ReplyDeleteI always figured Brent to be a whiskey fan.
ReplyDelete@Jay wait until November
ReplyDeleteYeah your right. When it gets colder, Brent will break out the Jack Daniels.
ReplyDeleteBrent is completely blitzed
ReplyDelete@ kt1000: yes.
ReplyDeleteBrent is always hammered for these games. Got to love him though wanting them to crank up the Blue Oyster Cult.
ReplyDeletePenn St. has sucked on offense since that great TD.
ReplyDelete@49er16.....yeah, but Brent usually does a much better job of hiding it
ReplyDeleteHockey comment alert!
ReplyDeleteThe Flyers placed Randy Jones on waiers! YES!!!!!!!!
/Brian Russell of the Flyers'd.
Brent is completely blitzed
ReplyDeleteso is Gary Thorne
Here's the video of St. Timmy of Florida getting knocked the fuck out.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFN90gkKHu4
Now Brent is amazed by modern technology.
ReplyDeletejeez, inside handoff on 3rd & 8?
ReplyDeleteand Tom Brokaw doing the Univ. of Iowa ad???
YES!!running into the kicker on State Penn!!
ReplyDeletePenalties are killing Penn St.
ReplyDeleteIowa inside the 30
ReplyDeletehmmmma 42 yd FG attempt in the rain? totally the percentage play
ReplyDeleteWhy didn't Penn State take a timeout there to preserve some time for a possible drive after the field goal?
ReplyDeleteSHANKED! HAHA!
ReplyDeleteNo good and Penn St. still has the 10-5 lead going into halftime.
ReplyDeletewide right. sigh.
ReplyDeleteMike Patrick reduced to doing Texas Tech-Houston. sad.
ReplyDeleteCome on, kt, can't you be happy for me? ;-)
ReplyDeleteAnd I LOL at Mike Patrick.
in a year or 2 Mike Patrick will be stuck doing games on ESPN360, still hoping to get back into NFL games
ReplyDeleteWhat's with the audio to the Tech-Houston game? I can barely here the announcers.
ReplyDeletei have it loud and clear, Keith
ReplyDelete"Right now they are thinking when can they pick it up? Can they trade it in for something else." - Tom McCarthy after a Brewers couple won a Chevy Malibu on Fan Appreciation Night at Miller Park.
ReplyDelete+1 T-Mac.
Sadly, Keith, Mike Patrick is coming in through my TV speakers loud and clear.
ReplyDeletedid Jim Karol tell you if USC would cover the 45 1/2 point spread v. Wazzou?
ReplyDelete@ kt1000: No, he did not. But to answer your question, no, they won't.
ReplyDeleteUSC covers the spread. Have you seen how bad Wazzu is? Their top running back almost had to have his leg amputated this week.
ReplyDelete@JFein your probably right..i think i've already thrown my money away on one Pac-10 team tonight...
ReplyDeleteNo, I haven't seen Wazzu this year. But I don't think USC is that great themselves that they can beat a team by 46.
ReplyDeleteThey will take our their frustratinons on Wazzu this week. That always happens with USC. They lose one week, then beat a team by 46 points the next.
ReplyDeleteIowa's D stepping up...
ReplyDeletePenn St. dissapoints me....Needs to drink more beer.
ReplyDeleteIowa's OL beginning to take control of this game
ReplyDeletePenn St's defense has done their jobs. Their offense though...............
ReplyDeleteWhew! Somebody on the Penn St. offense finally made a play.
ReplyDeleteArizona ST just had a FG blocked... and of course, Brock Huard attributes a 44' vertical leap to "great coaching"
ReplyDeleteTyler Walker sucks.
ReplyDeleteTied in the bottom of the 9th, he gave up a walk-off homerun in the bottom to Ryan Braun.
Georgia is driving :(
ReplyDeleteTyler Walker should never be closing games. NEVER! NEVER!
ReplyDeleteWHAT AN INTERCEPTION!!!
ReplyDeletePICKED OFF!!! PENN STATE NEEDED THAT.
ReplyDeleteGeorgia wins...can this night get any worse?
ReplyDeleteNow why do you hate Georgia?
ReplyDeleteit got worse...the Orioles lose again....now have lost 9 in a row
ReplyDelete@49er16 its all very TMI...
ReplyDeleteOkay, your not a Herchel Walker fan.
ReplyDeleteTD Purdue!!!
ReplyDeleteTD Iowa!!!
ReplyDeleteJust kill me now.
ReplyDeletebeautiful blocked punt
ReplyDeletePhew! Just a one-point game. Too bad our offense has to go back on the field.
ReplyDeleteYOUR A DEAD MAN, CLARK!!!
ReplyDeleteIowa looking real good at the moment
ReplyDeleteIOWA TD!!!!
ReplyDeleteDAGGER!!! No way Clark brings Penn St. back.
ReplyDeleteANOTHER TURNOVER?????? UGH!
ReplyDeleteAfter a great return as well.....
turn out the lights...State Penn is done...
ReplyDeleteDon't count out the Nittany Lions yet, kt. It looks bleak (real bleak, in fact)< but there is still 6 minutes left. Anything can happen.
ReplyDelete@JFein well see if they're truly a National Championship contender
ReplyDeleteNight not completely ruined. Notre Dame could lose to Purdue.
ReplyDeleteWord verification is "brent".
ReplyDeleteWell I'm going to watch the Klitchsko/Arreola fight because I have some masochistic tendencies.
Game over. INT.
FUCKKKKKKKKKK
ReplyDeletebeautiful pass, Darryl
ReplyDeletehmmm... i wonder if Brent took Iowa tonight
ReplyDeleteRudolph takes it inside the Purdue 35
ReplyDeleteClausen sacked!
ReplyDeleteplease Boilers..come out of this prevent...
ReplyDeleteOhio State is handed the Big Ten title yet again.
ReplyDeleteFail.
and Weis runs a draw, but Purdue calls a TO...
ReplyDeleteWTF???
4th down for the Domers...
ReplyDeleteCome on Purdue!!!!!
ReplyDeleteTD Notre Dame
ReplyDeletemother&^%$
well, this ending just sucks
ReplyDeleteI hate Notre Dame more than ever.
ReplyDeleteThey should just dissolve the entire Big Ten.
WTF? Purdue
ReplyDelete@SSR i could not agree more...and please take ACC football with you...
ReplyDeleteI'm out guys, enjoy the rest of your night. Justin, Mookie I will talk to you tomorrow. KT, enjoy the game tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteU-Dub about to lose to Stanford.
ReplyDeleteHoneymoon is over.
Wazzou just put together a nice 8-minute drive to end the 1st half. Too bad it stalled at the end and were unable to get any points out of it. Meanwhile this Texas Tech-Houston game has been very entertaining.
ReplyDeleteFor once, I think we have a decent late-night cap.
34-14 Stanford win over Washington.
ReplyDeleteWhatever...still have the same Pac-10 record as USC.
Houston beats Texas Tech 29-23. What a game and what a game-winning drive for the Cougars.
ReplyDeleteI'm certainly a Houston fan after that one. What a game.
