- Pat Hill was supposedly hot for the Huskies job, but wanted to know by Wednesday if the job was his. Apparently Washington officials were waiting for Mike Leach.
- Mike Leach, apparently didn't want to go for a second interview, and couldn't wait no longer.
All these reports are not looking good for Washington. They suggest an unstable environment that a current head coach wouldn't want to be at right now. But lets look at the other facts keeping Washington from finding a proven head coach.
- Their facilities are a mess right now. Huskies stadium is one of the worst stadiums in the country and it doesn't look like it will be repaired anytime soon.
- Their alumni and boosters are hard to deal with. Tyrone Willingham is a laid back guy, who could handle the Norte Dame alumni and boosters. But in Washington they expect to much of you. They want the school to be as good as it was in the early 90's under Don James. But with the current facilities hardly any recruits want to play up their.
There is a lot of speculation that Washington will stick to the West Coast in their job search. But they must understand that a proven current head coach has no ambitions to coach there right now. They have to start looking at some of the best assistants in the country.
