Celtics Keep Improving

I talked about last week if the Boston Celtics could be stopped.

Well after last nights game and the 16 others no one can stop the Celtics. The Boston Celtics beat the Chicago Bulls 126-108 to extend their winning streak to 17 games to improve their record to 25-2.

The supposedly weak link of the team Rajon Rondo had 15 assists last night. Rondo all season has been the strength of the team. While other point guards like Chris Paul and Deron Williams have been getting all of the attention, Rondo has outshine them in team performance.

Kevin Garnett has not slowed down either. He contributed with 17 points, while Kendrick Perkins scored a career high 25.

The Celtics have gone up against some tough teams during this stretch. The faced Utah at home, a game they could have lost, came away with a 9 point victory.

On Wednesday they faced the Atlanta Hawks in Atlanta. They faced the Hawks in the first round of the playoffs last year, and didn't win a game in Atlanta. The Hawks played the Celtics tough but couldn't stop a late run by the Celtics in the last minutes of the game, and they came away with a three point win.

The schedule gets tougher as the Celtics will face the Los Angeles Lakers on the road on Christmas day. Then they play three other road games finishing the trip at Portland.

The Celtics have not had a championship hangover yet. It will probably happen and they will lose a couple of game in a row. But I don't see this team slowing down. They are hungrier than they where last year.

The Celtics also beat teams in multiple ways. They are capable of running different type of offenses with different personnel. They defense will always be stout with Garnett and Perkins. They pass, shoot, and rebound better than the teams they face.

So far, the Celtics look unstoppable. The east has two other teams in the Orlando Magic and Cleveland Cavaliers that could be a problem for the Celtics in the playoffs. And you can never forget about the Detroit Pistons.

But right now, the Celtics are poety in motion and we should just enjoy the great basketball they are playing.
