College Football Spark Notes: Mourning Games

ESPN has been hyping this week as rivalry week in college football. Well there are rivalry games today, but there is also games next weekend too. Everyone will be paying attention to the Oklahoma-Texas Tech game tonight. Well until then, we will take notes on what is happening around the college football universe.

> The best action so far for the Michigan and Ohio St. game was a pre-game scuffle. No one scored until a second quarter touchdown run by Ohio St. running back Chris Wells. Much hyped freshman quarterback Terrelle Pryor then hit Mike Hartline for a touchdown. Man the Michigan offense is horrible. They had the ball on the one yard line and ready to score. It took them four tries to finally get in the end zone. 14-7 Ohio St. with 2:51 left in the first half.
> Both Purdue and Indiana are 3-8 and are heading nowhere. Purdue coach Joe Tiller is coaching his final game and his boys want to send him out a winner. It's 41-3 Purdue in just the first half. At least Indiana hasn't quit yet.
> I have to give Michigan credit. They are hanging tough against Ohio St. but they just don't have enough man power to overtake Ohio St. They are down 21-7 with 8:40 left in the third quarter.
> I guess no one wants to win the ACC this year. First, Miami loses to Georgia Tech on Thursday, and now North Carolina is losing to NC State. Does the ACC even deserve a BCS bid this year?
> And with no surprise Florida is hammering The Citadel 35-0 with 11:00 minutes still left to play in the first half. Tim Tebow has already thrown for 201 yards and three touchdowns. I am really happy Florida chooses such tough non-conference competition.
> Well so much for Michigan hanging tough. Ohio St. is now running up the score on Michigan. It is now 42-7 Ohio St. with about 12:00 minutes left to play in the game.
> Pat White is having a huge day for West Virginia as they are leading Louisville 35-21. White became the all time leading rusher for a quarterback in NCAA history and has five touchdowns today. It's to bad Rich Rodriguez decided to leave West Virginia because they probably could have made a serious run at the National Championship Game this year.
