College Football Spark Notes: Night Games

(I wonder what Jenn thinks off Myron Rolle, the new Rhodes scholar.)

Well the afternoon games were sure interesting. Norte Dame lost to Syracuse. LSU lost to Ole Miss. And the Apple Cup wasn't all that bad. The night games though should be interesting. A lot of intriguing match ups that could determine the fate of conference winners. Oklahoma-Texas Tech will be the game of the night. We will pay close attention to that game and several others throughout the night.

>Myron Rolle being selected for the Rhodes scholar will be made a big deal all night. The announcers will talk how Rolle is a true student-athlete. Biggest joke of all time. Every person who plays sports in college should be a student-athlete. But they are not. So don't make a big deal about this. An athlete would rather be a student, not a big deal.
> Oklahoma is the first one on the board. Texas Tech was forced to punt on their first possesion. If Oklahoma can keep forcing Tech into long 3rd downs and bring in pressure, they won't be stopped.
> End of the first quarter, Oklahoma is leading 7-0 and is on their way to another score. The Sooners have 150 yards of total offense already. The biggest part of that quarter though was the Sooner defense. They sacked Harrell twice(he'd only been sacked 6 times all year) and forced him to throw bad throws. This is not looking good so far for Texas Tech.
> 14-0 Oklahoma, the Red Raiders look confused on defense. They were expecting pass and they got a run. Chris Brown scored easily for the Sooners. Not looking good for Tech.
> Texas Tech goes for it on 4Th down and in field goal range, and they come up short. The Sooner defense is all over everything Texas Tech is doing. The Red Raiders better hope their defense can stop the Sooner offense, because they don't want to be down 21-0 by the 2ND quarter.
> 21-0 Oklahoma, with 10:00 minutes left in the first half. Texas Tech just doesn't have it tonight. Their offense is being stopped and their defense can't stop anyone. It is ugly already.
> 28-0 Oklahoma, with 7:45 remaining. Oklahoma is making look to easy right now. Tech tried to convert another 4Th down at midfield but the pass was broken up. Tech is looking like a pretender right now. Mike Leach should take the Tennessee or Clemson job after this game.
> 28-7 Oklahoma, Texas Tech finally got on the board. Harrell threw a dart to his reciever. This is just what they needed right now. 6:28 remaining in the first half.
> 35-7 Oklahoma, The Sooners have gained over 400 yards on offense in just the first half. The Texas Tech defensive line is getting man handled right now. I don't see them the Red Raiders making a comeback in the second half.
> Update: Utah beat BYU and are most likely headed for the at large BCS bowl bid at the Fiesta Bowl, and with the Texas Tech-Oklahoma most likely over just in the first half, I am out for the night.
