Who Say's Baseball Players Can't Fight?
Nyjer Morgan is having a bad year. He threw that infamous temper tantrum earlier this season. Last week he threw a ball at a fan. He's bowled over two catchers when a slide was more than necessary. Tuesday night Morgan cursed out a Marlins fan. So needless to say last night's incident shouldn't have been a surprise to anyone.
In the sixth inning, Marlins pitcher Chris Volstad threw a pitch behind Morgan. Morgan had already been hit in the game by Volstad, so Morgan felt the need to rush the mound. Morgan got a couple of punches in before he was close lined by Marlins first baseman Gaby Sanchez. Morgan wasn't done as he pulled a WWE-style heel move by playing up to the Florida crowd. Needless to say, we needed a villain to replace Milton Bradley. Volstad received quite the shiner. (Video via Deadspin)

The shame of it all is that Nyjer Morgan is a decent baseball player. He's probably one of the fastest guys in the league. It is a shame that he cannot control his own anger.
ReplyDeleteI still have not figured out why Morgan raised his arms after that fracas? Gaby Sanchez cleaned his clock.
hahaha that was hilarious. I will now be on my way to mlb.com to buy a Gaby Sanchez jersey.
