This week in college football is not as exciting as last week. We do have some conference games and the return of CBS with Verne and Gary. So there is reason to watch college football today. I'll hopefully be around to update this thread when something good happens. Enjoy the games, leave comments and don't be a troll.
This week's announcing schedule and must list
Games I'll Keep an Eye On:
No. 13 Arkansas @ Georgia (ESPN, 12 p.m.)
Air Force, No. 9 Oklahoma (FSN-National, 3:30 p.m.)
No. 8 Nebraska @ Washington (ABC/ESPN2, 3:30 p.m.)
No. 7 Florida @ Tennessee (CBS, 3:30 p.m.)
No. 4 Texas @ Texas Tech (ABC/ESPN2, 8 p.m.)

The ACC Network can't afford HD camera's? (Via Mock Session)
Shouldn't Eli Manning be preparing for his game tomorrow? (Via Mock Session)
Now I understand why Phil Fullmer would wear a hat on the sidelines. (Via Mock Session)
It's good to have Verne back in my life (Via Mock Session)
"Child please."-Dave Pasch (Via SB Nation)
Look at the score and then look at how much time is left in the 1st quarter. (Via Mock Sessions)
Doink! (Via Mock Sessions)
Coach K doesn't burst into flames in the sunlight? (Via Mock Session)
I went to the same JUCO as this guy at the same time (Via Mock Session)
I'll be gone for the morning games. I should be back for the afternoon games.
ReplyDeleteBob Wischusen and Bob Griese should not have worn matching suits, shirts, and ties today. It's scary.
ReplyDeleteUMASS LEADS 3-0! APPY STATE DEJA VU!!!!
ReplyDelete...Honestly, Michigan's D looked like a pile of puke on their opening drive. In other words, "normal."
...And Shoelace throws a pick. Geez.
ReplyDeleteRobert Bolden (and his poise) continue to impress the hell out of me. Penn State is walking all over Kent State.
ReplyDeleteI think Lou Holtz (the real one) Thursday picked Kent State over Penn State.
ReplyDeleteSo many hot-and-cold throws by Robinson early. Too many fastballs off of receivers hands but a nice pass to Grady for 45.
ReplyDelete"The Grease Board."
ReplyDeleteKill me.
Brian Griese: "I did my best to draw Mr. Bolden," on his 'Grease' Board.
ReplyDeleteThe UPS guy is laughing at that stick figure.
Tom Hart on Michigan's open tryouts: "There was a woodwind out there trying to make the team."
ReplyDeleteI'll take anyone who can cover, 'cause Michigan needs them. Good grief.
Heading up to the Bloomsburg football game. Penn State is walking over Kent State. Go Huskies!

ReplyDeleteEnjoy!
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, UMass leads Michigan 10-7. I better turn this computer off before I break it.
Missed FG by Michigan. BOHICA.
ReplyDelete17-7 UMass. 17 to M-F---ING 7 UMASS?????
ReplyDeleteI see Michigan is trying to out due Cal in the shit the bed department this weekend.
ReplyDeleteEven though Michigan has surged to the lead, that defense is still atrocious.
ReplyDelete/puts away Michigan Kool-Aid
//picks up adult beverage
Good thing I never pulled the Cal cool-aid out of the shelves.
ReplyDelete/They got their asses kicked last night.
"SportsPickle
ReplyDeleteThe Penn State crowd just sang Bon Jovi's "Livin' On A Prayer". I expect New Jersey militia to attack within hours."
28 unanswered points by Michigan; 35-17 Wolverines.
ReplyDeleteI saw some of that game and Kaepernick sliced and diced Cal up.
ECU up 17-7 over VaTech. Wow.
@RJBO: Cal couldn't have stopped a nose bleed in that game.
ReplyDeleteKeith, you could say the same about Michigan today. Luckily, they're playing UMass, who's driving again...
ReplyDeleteThis. is. ridiculous. UMass picks up a 4th and 9 pretty easily. Ugh.
ReplyDeleteThese morning games have been terrible.
ReplyDeleteI've at least had the thrill (pain?) of watching Michigan playing flag football against the Minutemen.
ReplyDeleteISU-Kansas State are playing the ineptitude bowl on FSN right now for me. The game is tied, but terrible.
ReplyDeleteKyle Havens > Richie Havens
ReplyDeleteTouchdown UMass. Relaying a pregame quote from Havens:
Tom Hart: "It's not like we're playing the Patriots. Kids dream of playing in Michigan Stadium, but not me. My team is Cal."
I pity any poor bastard that roots for Cal. They'll break your heart every year.
ReplyDeleteBTW, how to you bold text in the comments RJBO?
Same way to put a comment in Italics, but (b) instead of (i).
ReplyDeleteI know Detroit's in the middle of MAC territory, but UConn-Temple, Channel 7? Yeesh. Run the Nu-Wave Oven commercial or 3 episodes of Matlock for three hours instead.
(b)Thanks(b)
ReplyDeleteIt didn't work. I must fucking that up somewhere.
ReplyDeleteKeith, Blogger wouldn't accept the comment if I used the <> just to illustrate my point, so I put the b inside of (). My bad.
ReplyDeleteUgh. Michigan gets an interception and fumbles it right back to UMass.
ReplyDelete@RJBO: When I try to do that, I get a message that says the "Tag is not closed."
ReplyDeleteI guess that's why I'm not a teacher.
ReplyDeleteYou know how to do Italics in the comments? Bracket whatever you want to bold (b) or italicize (i) with <> at the start with the corresponding letter and at the end to close the tag. Blogger doesn't have strikethrough in the comments, though (I don't think).
I've been distracted by Michigan GIVING UP ANOTHER GD TOUCHDOWN TO UMASS!!!!
UMASS BLOCKS THE PUNT! THEY AIN'T DEAD YET!
ReplyDeleteI still don't know how to do it. I think it has more to do with me being an idiot.
ReplyDeletePass interference in the end zone. Are you TRYING to give UMass the game???
ReplyDeleteWIDE OPEN UMass touchdown. I'm going to be sick....
ReplyDeleteYour going to be sick? What about K-State fans?
ReplyDeleteMichigan Wins!
ReplyDeleteI finally understand how to use HTML in the comments!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteGreg Robinson taught me how to teach people HTML.
ReplyDelete/Fire Greg Robinson
@RJBO: You didn't tell my you have to close the tag like this: /
ReplyDeleteI finally just looked up the HTML on the blog to find that out :-)
Keith, I did, but my earlier comment had the / inside of brackets like , causing it to disappear.
ReplyDelete/I suck
@RJBO: It's okay. BTW, the return of CBS means the return of Brando. And it wasn't pretty.
ReplyDeleteThat whole grease fire I created caused me to miss the Mallett comeback and Brando's comeback on CBS.
ReplyDelete/I really suck
Annnnd the ESPN2 Reverse Mirror is not available in HD.
ReplyDeleteThey doused Al Golden with Gatorade for starting 3-0?
Someone fix the microphones in Madison!
ReplyDeleteMcDonough and Millen are calling the Wash-Neb game.
ReplyDeletewatching Florida/Tennessee, just for Crazy Uncle Verne
ReplyDeletetoo bad the Terps weren't aware the game started at Noon
Patrick & James are bad enough without all of the audio problems....
ReplyDeleteI almost forgot about Mike Leach doing Washington State-SMU on CBS College Sports.
ReplyDeleteStephen Threet starts for Arizona State? Bwwwwwwaaaaaaa!!
ReplyDeleteI knew you would like that RJBO. LOL Erickson has gotten desperate.
ReplyDeleteI burst out laughing when Mike Patrick said "Stephen Threet can run."
ReplyDeleteOn the bad snap:
ReplyDeleteVerne: "Here we go again!"
Gary: "Oh man!"
Danielson graduated from the "Ron Santo School of Analysis" this summer.
"Haha Made me snort."-Uncle Verne
ReplyDeleteBloomsburg 47, IUP 20.
ReplyDeleteGo Huskies!!!!!!!!!
Alabama vs. Arkansas next week should be good.
ReplyDeleteWow, Chris Rainey. Wow.
ReplyDelete30 arrests involving 27 players arrested? Fail.
What's wrong with Text messaging a women, "Time to Die?"
ReplyDeleteEven though Tebow graduated, Gary Danielson still has a Tebowner in that booth.
ReplyDeleteYup, Gary. Blame the social media and 'Tweeting' for all of the arrests at Florida.
ReplyDeleteDanielson: "When you have the public media and the Tweeting and everyone has iPhones, that arrest number is shocking." Que?
iPhones = arrests to Gary Danielson.
ReplyDeleteHe was once yours, RJBO?
97 yard TD return for ASU. Mike Patrick didn't realize it until there were 40 yards to go.
ReplyDeleteI used to like Gary Danielson with Nessler. Then the ill-fated radio show here, and dude has become more and more hare-brained with time.
ReplyDelete"Matt Simms calls his dad, Big Phil. So do we."-Verne
ReplyDeleteYou have to read this to believe it.
ReplyDeletehttp://panews.com/sports/x842118316/Tragedy-strikes-during-WO-Stark-game
Verne: "Bobby Petrino left for the NFL. He has left a few places." Ha.
ReplyDeleteI heard about that already. Terrible they continued the game.
ReplyDeleteAgreed, Keith.
ReplyDelete3-0 Tennessee. How did that curve in?
ReplyDelete"Looks like your 9-iron." - Verne Lundquist
This just in. tOSU dominates Ohio.
ReplyDeleteWow. Stephen Threet looks gr-...go-...competent.
ReplyDeletePatrick: "Stephen Threet is really impressing us." Are you impressed by blue cars, too?
@RJBO: Why are you watching that game? Why am I watching Air Force vs. Oklahoma?
ReplyDeleteDanielson: "Here's the first snap. A little bit outside, as Bob Uecker used to say."
ReplyDeleteKeith, for comedic value? I'm switching between ASU-Wisky & Fla-Tenn.
ReplyDeleteUpset alert: Wisconsin can't do shit against Arizona State. 10-3 Sun Devils.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't watch the Neb-Wash game if I'm you. The camera is shaking and it's making me sick.
ReplyDeleteI actually want the college version of the Red Zone channel than the actual Red Zone channel.
ReplyDeleteTennesse falls on the Florida muff!
ReplyDelete/had to
ESPN is tinkering with a RedZone like channel for Time Warner & Bright House, but anything with Ani-sh Sh-roff on it is doomed to fail.
ReplyDeleteA bad interception by Simms.
It's like Chris Simms is playing for Tenn.
ReplyDeleteI'm need to go out and eat more food than any human being ever should. Brb.
ReplyDeleteThis Simms family is used to spectacular failure.
ReplyDeleteDanielson: "Gordon just out-athleticsed Florida on that play."
ReplyDeleteVerne doing a Hawaii Five-O promo: "Cue the waves! Cue the music! Cue the action!"
ReplyDeleteFlorida leads 7-3 at the half.
ReplyDeleteWisky takes the lead over ASU before halftime.
I need a sandwich.
/puts Beninati & Baylor-TCU on in background
//back in 15
It's cold in Sacramento today, so I'm eating Chicken Noodle Soup.
ReplyDeleteWow. Minnesota takes the lead over U$C (®Keith'd) and Tennessee ties Florida.
ReplyDelete/corned beef sandwich for me
Spoke too soon, U$C with the kickoff return for TD (2-point conversion failed)
ReplyDeleteWe're celebrating my Dad's 60th birthday tomorrow with Mexican Food. I'll be gone for a couple of hours during the live blog.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to your father, Keith.
ReplyDeleteFake Punt by Florida for the 1st Down!
If Florida goes with the fake punt it's a good call. If Boise State goes with the fake punt, it's a gimmick.
ReplyDeleteVerne: "Frankie Hammond Jr! Off the suspended list!"
ReplyDeleteDoesn't sound like a 'dirty program' to me at all...
"Off the suspended list."-Verne
ReplyDeleteWell when you have 30 players arrested in a five year period, there will probably be quite a few suspensions.
Yikes Simms.
ReplyDeleteOnly in the SEC does the Scholar of the week has a 3.14 GPA.
ReplyDeleteCraig James: "(Singletary) hit me several times in college and the pros like I was a rat."
ReplyDeleteJames is a rat. His rat son ratted out the Pirate.
ReplyDeleteNow I remembered why Threet has transferred twice..........
ReplyDeleteSimms was lucky not to get a safety on that intentional grounding.
ReplyDeleteDanielson: "I'm familiar with this intentional grounding stuff."
But, Keith, Threet has been so composed and poised!
ReplyDelete/Patrick & James all day
A member of the Simms family sucs. The Mets suck. What else is new in life?
ReplyDeleteColorado's winning 6-0, San Diego's losing 2-1.
ReplyDelete/NL West update
Patrick: "Threet's a guy you really root for."
ReplyDeleteUmmmmm.......
Tennessee isn't dead yet.
ReplyDeleteI'm mystified as to how Tennessee is still in this game...
ReplyDeleteArizona State, down by 7, is inside the red zone facing a 3rd and 2 against Wisky.
ReplyDeleteTo the 3!
ReplyDeleteTouchdown Arizona State!
ReplyDeleteThey are an extra point away from tying the #11 team in Madison.
BLOCKED!
ReplyDeleteTHE PAT IS BLOCKED! WISKY STILL LEADS BY 1!
ReplyDeleteLOL ASU
ReplyDeleteNice catch by Carl Moore....maybe?
ReplyDeleteTouchdown Florida. That ought to end that Tennessee rally.
ReplyDeleteBallgame in Madison.
ReplyDelete@ 49er16: In honor of the Phillies having German Heritage Night tonight, The Good Phight is having a German heritage game thread tonight. Not sure what that entails, but the entire post is in German.
ReplyDeleteActually, as shitty as Wisconsin's kick coverage has been, maybe not.
ReplyDelete62-13 Bama. Geez.
Wisky can take a knee and end this game.
ReplyDeleteI can't figure out Oklahoma for anything. Their lead is down to 3.
ReplyDelete@JFein: I'll drink a Becks beer in honor of the Phillies German Heritage Night.
ReplyDeleteCSI has officially jumped the shark. Justin Bieber will be on a episode.
ReplyDelete/I used to love CSI
Another first down and Oklahoma will hang on against Air Force.
ReplyDeleteAuburn-Clemson is on ESPN for me. Texas-Texas Tech on ABC.
ReplyDeleteBrent: "Welcome to the part of the country where football is a religion, ladies and gentlemen."
ReplyDeleteI'm watching the Phillies game tonight. None of these night college football games interest me at all.
ReplyDeleteI'm intrigued by Iowa-Arizona.
ReplyDelete/closer than the experts think'd
I'm also intrigued by Iowa-Arizona. I guess you'll be staying up late for that game, RJBO?
ReplyDeleteKyle Kendrick ist ein nutzloses Stück Scheiße Affen
ReplyDeleteI'll be around. If any of the games get out of hand, I'll stop on Brewers-Giants on MLB Network.
ReplyDeleteNice shovel pass by Parker. Touchdown Clemson.
ReplyDeleteStouffer: "What you want to do is squeeze him from the side and shut the front door." Ewwww.
ReplyDelete@ RJBO: He's probably thinking about what he wants to do to Joe Beninati after the game....
ReplyDelete@RJBO: Is TCU-Baylor still on?
ReplyDeleteBy some grace of God, it's still going on, 4:30 left.
ReplyDeleteEver wondered what happened to Tim Couch? He's calling the Akron-Kentucky game.
ReplyDeleteI'm watching that game on ESPN3.
I think I'd rather watch the Bill Patrick-led postgame than that game.
ReplyDelete/not really
@ Keith: Really? Tim Couch? He's calling football games now?
ReplyDeleteYou know you are a bust when you lose your job to Kelly Holcomb.
I hate the fact my Comcast doesn't have ESPNU in HD. I'm missing out on this Mississippi State-LSU game with Herm Edwards.
ReplyDelete...maybe it's not all bad.
@Justin: Yep, he's calling the Kentucky-Akron game.
ReplyDelete/Couch was also cut by Green Bay and all he was asked to do was back up Favre.
Wendi Nix: "That Oregon Duck that does the push-ups is gonna explode!"
ReplyDeleteLet me amend my Akron-Kentucky comment: I'd rather see that game instead of "The Game 365 - Scott Boras."
ReplyDelete/thanks for nothing, FS Detroit
I can't believe I'm the only person outraged about the fact that Auburn uses the Golden Eagle as their mascot and their not native of Alabama.
ReplyDeleteMushed-mouth dude on SEC Tonight on CBS College Sports: "Iowa doesn't play well West of the Mississippi." Isn't Iowa City west of the Mississippi?
ReplyDeleteThe fact I'm getting the Irish against Sparty means I'm watching the O's...talk to y'all tomorrow
ReplyDeleteBoise State-Wyoming is on CBS College Sports. Ummm...Texas-Texas Tech is only on ESPN2-SD if you get ND-MSU over-the-air.
ReplyDelete/See ya, Kris
Bye Kris
ReplyDelete@RJBO: I had to share that Iowa City quote with EDSBS. They're cracking up.
I want to know who said it. That SEC Postgame show had a bunch of clowns on it (and one halfway decent looking chick).
ReplyDeleteWilson Valdez hurt something going to 2nd base. If he can't stay in the game, that means Brian Bocock will have to come in for the Phillies.
ReplyDeleteIt's only the bottom of the 2nd.
Brian Jones said the "Iowa" quote on CBS College Sports. Imbecile.
ReplyDelete@ RJBO and 49er16: The entire state of Iowa is west of the Mississippi.
ReplyDelete/Geography buff'd
//Facepalm
South Carolina may have just broken Tate Forcier's brother.
ReplyDeleteJFein, sometimes you hear idiocy and have to do a doubletake.
ReplyDeleteOh, and CBS College Sports? Your website is flimsy; FakeAV redirect sites have more info and options than you do.
Quote from a Phillies beat writer on Twitter: "Saw Bocock pop up in the dugout a few times."
ReplyDeleteGroßes Stück! 4-1 Phillies!
ReplyDeleteWyoming holds Boise State to a FG early. 3-0 Broncos.
ReplyDeleteRyan Howard has surpassed Pat Burrell on the Phillies all-time home run list.
ReplyDeleteHe's still not as cool as Burrell.
ReplyDelete/Burrell has actually been struggling recently.
I failed to mention earlier:
ReplyDeletePhillies' German Heritage Night >>>> White Sox's 'Halfway to St. Patrick's Day' Night
2 doubles tonight for Wilson Valdez. Ich glaube es nicht.
ReplyDeletePhillies' German Heritage Night >>>> White Sox's 'Halfway to St. Patrick's Day' Night
ReplyDelete/Not saying much.
Wow, those are some terrible uniforms Sparty.
ReplyDeleteThe way Auburn's offense is struggling tonight, you'd thought Tony Franklin was their OC again.
ReplyDeleteTexas Tech is playing defense like the Pirate is still coaching.
ReplyDeleteNice of the ND band to drown out Holly Rowe's report.
ReplyDeleteNessler: "Holly must be striking up the band."
Incredible catch in the Auburn-Clemson game.
ReplyDeleteBlackledge: "This offensive style by Michigan State plays right into the hands of where Notre Dame's strength is."
ReplyDeleteJimmy Raye (not this one) must still be a consultant.
Whoa, Michigan State changed their uniform style?
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, I know what Jimmy Raye your talking about.
ReplyDeleteLouisville with the 3rd down stand in Corvallis, down 7 with 1:42 left.
ReplyDelete/FCS finally good for something
//still not in HD
Texas Tech can't stop a nose bleed.
ReplyDelete88 yards for Louisville and Adam Froman's Sausage to tie it up.
ReplyDelete@RJBO: CSN California will show Houston-UCLA for me at 7:30. Which means I get Petros tonight.
ReplyDelete/I'm not watching that game.
Louisville now at midfield.
ReplyDelete/I might watch Houston-UCLA
//on mute
Dockery with the pick. Ballgame Oregon State.
ReplyDeleteHate to admit this, but if Crist plays the whole game last week, ND is 2-0 and everyone is slobbering all over them.
ReplyDelete"The Bermuda Triangle of the National League." - Tom McCarthy.
ReplyDeleteHuh?
Oregon 69 Portland State 0 with time left in the first half.
ReplyDeleteAren't you supposed to struggle with FCS teams?
ReplyDelete/Michigan'd
I can't believe I thought Oregon would struggle without Masoli.
ReplyDelete/That's why you should always bet against me.
//They still haven't played anyone.
Kurt Cousins has 'throwing picks to ND in the end zone' mastered. Next: checkdowns.
ReplyDeleteClemson is another team I'm not buying. They always look good at first, then fall apart down the stretch.
ReplyDeleteWow! Somehow Texas Tech has come back on Texas. I thought that game was over.
ReplyDeleteWendi Nix seems hung up on how big Cam Newton is...
ReplyDelete/He's 6'6" and 247 lbs'd
I seriously thought the Tech-Texas game was over. The Red Raiders actually tied the game and are holding their own on defense.
ReplyDeleteBrent: "(Newton)'s a tough hombre to bring down."
ReplyDeleteThis Auburn game isn't over yet, either. War Eagle!
ReplyDeleteHello guys.
ReplyDeleteTouchdown Auburn
Hello Jay.
ReplyDeleteSweet! Awful Announcing is following me on Twitter!
ReplyDeleteDayne Crist felt guilty about Cousins throwing a pick in the Red Zone, so he decided to match him.
ReplyDeleteTT has said Texas? Didn't see that one coming.
ReplyDeleteSparty driving on ND
ReplyDeleteThe Tech defense actually woke up.
ReplyDeletePhiladelphia laser-gate Part 2?
ReplyDeleteUgh. Something's bothering the Nationals. Odds whatever it is will make national headlines in the next few hours: over 75%.
Touchdown Sparty
ReplyDeleteTexas Tech picks off Texas.
ReplyDeleteMSU ties it up at 7. Meh.
ReplyDelete
