Two Great Play To End Games

In today's baseball strikeouts are the norm. This makes sabermetrics writers happy but isn't all that exciting. Sure I love it when Giants pitchers are the ones striking out players but I'd rather see the ball put into play. Why you ask? Because of these two plays that ended ballgames in frigid Minnesota and Chicago.

You're not going to see spectacular plays like that if the batter strikes out. Oh I'm sure Twins and Rangers fans were wishing for strikeouts in those occasions but once again strikeouts are boring. Put the ball into play.

  1. I'll be honest, also not the biggest fan of the recent trend of rising strikeouts. Strikeouts are good, but man do they just completely halt the momentum of the games.
