Today is opening day in baseball even though not all the teams are playing games today (ugh). Still though baseball is back and I am glad. Here's your open thread to leave smart ass remarks about whatever game you're watching today. Just don't be a troll.

The Colonel and I will have our first Talkin' Baseball post of the season up tomorrow.
This morning games are a little lackluster. Not going to lie.
ReplyDeleteI want to see Jackie Bradley Jr.
ReplyDeleteYES YES YES
DeleteSo does this mean the #FreeBelt campaign can begin again?
ReplyDeleteI believe Belt has finally been set free.
Delete/Belt gets benched when he struggles to start the year
Bob Carpenter: "The Marlins had to watch the Nats take home a lot of hardware before this started."
ReplyDeleteCarpenter is so bad I decided to watch the terrible Marlins broadcasters.
DeleteCarpenter: "Zimmerman, the early favorite to win a Gold Glove this year!"
ReplyDeleteThat was a nice play.........
DeleteWas saved by LaRoche digging that low throw out of the dirt.
DeleteMets give up a hit on the first pitch of the season. Baseball is really back!
ReplyDeleteBryce Harper's home run was caught by a Jayson Werth lookalike. Really.
ReplyDeleteAnd Harper homers. Gonna be a long year in Miami.
ReplyDelete[Obligatory post about the attendance at the A's home opener] because they're die hard fans!!!
ReplyDeleteIt wouldn't surprise me if they actually have a good attendance for tonight's game.
DeletePerhaps, but knowing A's Fan as well as I do, they will have 10,000 show up tomorrow which gives them the superiority to drone on about how "blue collar" their fans are.
DeleteThey'll probably have a good opening series. It's after that when I'm sure you'll see 10,000 people at the park.
DeleteSo, Bob Carpenter thinks every Nat is going to win the Gold Glove. Never change Bob, never change.
ReplyDeleteThom Brennaman thinks he needs to take it easy.
DeleteCody Ransom just made an error. I still hate him for game 162 in 2004.
ReplyDeleteBURN IN HELL STEVE FINLEY!
DeletePirates still using that rotating TV and radio booths. Terrible.
ReplyDeleteMost underrated part of watching a Nats game on MASN: all the government contractors that are sponsors.
ReplyDeleteThis inning is sponsored by Drones R Us!
DeleteJackie Bradley Jr. is hitting right now.
ReplyDeleteAnd he walks after being down 0-2.
Delete/fap fap fap
Red Sox starting to hammer the Yanks.
ReplyDeleteGames like this make me wish Mike & the Mad Dog were still on the air together
DeleteTHE YANKEES ARE TERRIBLE MIKE!
DeleteBlow up the Yanks. They are dead!
ReplyDeleteAlmost an hour in and the Yanks-Red Sox are still only in the 2nd inning. And the Dodgers-Giants are scheduled to come on after that game. ESPN might not switch over until the third inning.
ReplyDeleteThe Yankees are truly old when they can attract Martha Stewart!
ReplyDeleteI do miss Kristina Akra on the Nats games. What a shame she has to now pretend to be interested in what Brian Kenny & Harold Reynolds "debate."
ReplyDeleteWhy couldn't they have taken Amy G???? Oh that's right, her ball and chain also works for CSN Bay Area as the Raiders beat writer.
DeleteToo bad Jaymee Sire is now on the obscure hours of ESPN.
DeleteWhat hours does she work on ESPN, Long? I've been trying to find her. And what channel?
DeleteHaha. No more eye candy on MASN. Just Bob & FP.
Delete@Keith I have no clue. They have way way way too many anchors that it's impossible to figure out.
DeleteThings I'm not looking forward to this baseball season. The length of Sawks/Yanks games. This is a painful reminder.
ReplyDeleteAll AL East matchups feel like you can start & finish "War & Peace" before the game does.
DeleteTo be fair Kris, most divisional games are long. Giants-Dodgers game can take forever to play.
DeleteYou haven't lived through a 3 hour 40 minute O's/Jays game.
Delete@Kris Amen. Could be the case of John Farrell disease. I noticed his teams are bloody slow.
Delete@long All of the AL East managers overmange division games. Maddon, Showalter, especially Girardi.
DeleteCubs are already Cubsing
ReplyDeleteI'm still bitter I can't hear the drunk uncles lose it on Dickey's knuckler for another day.
ReplyDeleteAnd you don't have Ashby anymore. Damn.
DeleteHe went home to cover the Stros. I'm stuck with Jack Morris, it's that bad when you are begging for the drunk uncles.
DeleteSteve Levy on MLB PxP tonight. It think he dearly misses calling NHL games so much.
ReplyDeleteJesus Christ Harper.
ReplyDeleteOh hey, Rockies/Brewers is about to begin!
ReplyDelete*mutes TV to avoid Drew Goodman & George Frazier*
I'm listening to Bob Uecker for that game.
DeleteI think I'm going to eat lunch and come back for the 4PM ET games.
ReplyDeleteFP: "You get the feeling Taft has been feeling hungry for decades."
ReplyDeletePretty impressive, Jackie Bradley Jr.
ReplyDeleteCarpenter: "Don't walk [Werth], Ricky. Harper's waiting on deck."
ReplyDeleteOh good God
DeleteFP "You and I were the only ones who didn't win awards before the game."
ReplyDeleteBob "We're not in it for the awards."
/no kidding.
I need more Jenny Dell for this Sawks/Yanks game. It's putting me to sleep.
ReplyDeleteThe awkward moment when you hear Youk chants...at Yankee Stadium.
ReplyDeleteHow in the bloody hell do you walk Vernon Wells?
ReplyDeleteWe getting close to 2:40 & the game in the Bronx isn't even out of the 4th inning yet. ESPN must be loving this.
ReplyDeleteGood god Marlins.
ReplyDeleteI think they will be worst than Houston for some strange reason.
DeleteI agree with you Long. They'll be worse than Houston. At least Houston is playing young guys. The Marlins are playing Juan Pierre, Casey Kotchman, and Placido Polanco.
DeleteI agree. When you have Placido Polanco batting cleanup, you know you're not very good.
DeleteThe Mets are hammering the Padres. Dick Enberg already sounds like he would rather be in Paris or Wimbledon.
ReplyDeleteThe Nats pulled Strasburg, and Clippard is pitching himself into trouble.
ReplyDeleteSo much for letting Strasburg pitch...
DeleteBoras told Davey to pull Strasburg.
Delete2 hours in and the Yanks-Red Sox are in the 5th inning. GOOD GOD
ReplyDeleteCarpenter on Harper: "They're so cute at that age, aren't they?"
ReplyDeleteAJ Burnett was hitting the rosin bag with his arm and it explodes.
ReplyDeleteOnly took 2:15 for the Nats to win over the Marlins.
ReplyDeleteWhile the Yanks-Sox are in the sixth inning.
DeleteJon Miller just gave a 3 minute lecture to Gary Radnich on the history of the Roman Empire and catacombs.
ReplyDeleteI bet he knew what he was talking about as well.
DeleteIt's going to be some great baseball weather for those games in Chicago and Minneapolis, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteIt was actually snowing before the Pittsburgh-Chicago game.
DeleteGonna be a bullpen game for the Giants.
ReplyDeleteThis marks the 4th straight time the WS champ opens on the road. I don't mind LAD/SF opener, but at the very least flip-flop the sites and have Giants title ceremony.
ReplyDeleteYou have to go back to 2009 Phillies to find last time team opened season at home after winning WS.
I think the Giants asked if the game could be moved and MLB was like "LOL NO".
